"More demon than human, the General has lived for thousands of years, and has spent those years instilling fear into every galaxy he comes across." Oderus Urungus?
I heard your first album and all I could think was, "How could they possibly follow this? This has to be their peak. It must be downhill from here." And you literally said, "Here. Hold my chalice of virgin's blood." You lulled me into a trance with the opening and then grabbed my by the soul and assaulted my senses and refused to let go until they were marching over me. I've never experienced music like this.
Masterpiece! One of my favorite songs. Great song and great voice. Brittney has one of the best voices in the rock and metal scene. I love this band :-).
I was humming this in gym then I started singing quietly and this girl stood next to me during dodge ball and I was like "he's will slaughter you all lalalalalaaaaaaaaa" still singing the girl slowly backed away haha
And on that day many orcs and demons were slain by his hand. He brought despair even to the very darkness itself. The shadows would tremble in fear at the appearance of the mighty general. He slew without reproach and with furious wrath did he conquer the wicked. (If only the dark general used his powers to avenge innocence. What a waste. )
Eu acho que essa musica foi a melhor já escrita pois contem belas palavras e um solo tão foda que até as bandas mais conhecidas pagam um pau e a mais épica já criada
So...I have this weird theory that I came up with while smoking pot and listening to this song alone on headphones... I'd love to get an opinion on this theory from Brittany Slayes or another band member or even from fellow fans who've obsessed over this band's music the way I have. So, I get that Apex and Abyss are meant to go together but does it go back further than that? Behold The Devastation: Introduces The Destroyer and his dark army of zombies and tells of his destruction and take over of the land. Demons of The AstroWaste: First tells of the sword forged long ago that was capable of ending The Destroyer's reign. Journey On! introduces the warrior who finds the blade and will wield it. Then the rest of the album details the General and the warrior's battles and defeat of The Destroyer and his Dark Army. Time Stands Still: A palette cleanser of sorts in between the major acts of the story. Apex: The warrior who defeated The Destroyer and his Dark Army becomes immortal and is put into a torpor in a mountain and is used as the slave of The Matriarch (maybe the one who empowered the warrior to victory in the first place) and used to slaughter her enemies one by one so she can rise only to enslave the immortal warrior once more. Abyss: The Immortal Warrior escaping captivity and turning against the Matriarch in glorious battle, defeating her and trying to come to grips with both her war crimes and what it means to be immortal with no purpose now. How far off am I?
I remember first listening to this song thinking "these guys aren't bad, there's potential here" little did I know they would release such a badass album in Apex a couple of years later. Makes me proud to be Canadian.
Im not even canadian but Im thinking about puting on a lil canadian flag patch on my jacket cuz you have so many cool stuff. Exciter, uta, annihilator, jhofffilms and skallagrim ect.
When you get older it's common to lose that feeling of excitement when discovering new music. Thanks Unleash the Archers, for being an exception!
Amen!!! Count me among their 50+ year old fans!
These people are true monsters of rock... one song better than the last one.Long live this band.
+Victoria Pieroni This isn't rock. it''s heavy metal.
sorry!! I'm gonna tell everyone at ''Monsters of Rock'' to change the name of the fest...
my bad...(?
Obviously I didn't know it was a fest.
This is the first song of theirs that I heard, I'm glad I found them.

+psycho2cool RIP Dave Brockie/Oderus
Ok, now Canada has payed it's debt about giving us crap like Justin Bieber and Nickelback. UTA is simply awesome!
Every time I hear this song, I have to replay the scream at 5:09 several times. Love this album and love this song. Thank you Archers!

This is skillfully produced. And yet, the raw power behind shines bright.

Great and amazing song. The power and the beautiful voice. I love this band :-).
Still my favorite song of them after 5 years
You guys are sick! Hails from an extreme power metal band across the border!
I was humming this in gym then I started singing quietly and this girl stood next to me during dodge ball and I was like "he's will slaughter you all lalalalalaaaaaaaaa" still singing the girl slowly backed away haha

Ah, a classic from King Arthur's ipod. "ipod olde".

Serious Nightwish vibes here
I don't really think I can explain why but this song reminds me of Vergil from the original Devil May Cry Saga.
I am the same way with Earth and Ashes. For some bizarre reason, it reminds me of the Wheel of Time Saga by Robert Jordan.
What about Arthas in his Lich King edition?
Darth Vader from Star Wars or maybe even Kylo Ren?
I think Raoh from Fist of the North Star
Sent here from praise the sun's For Honour Stream, and I'm happy I was xD
Same, peaking of For Honor, the General's story reminds me of Apollyon from For Honor's campaign.
They hid behind there house when I named weapons I was pulling out!.. (guilty)...
I love Monty Python and the Holy Grail!
Listened to this way too many times in a row.
I just found out about you guys and love both your albums. You dudes (and gal) rock!
This is fantastic, makes me proud to be from Vancouver. Best band out of this city besides Strapping Young Lad

◀️ voodoo ◀️ hell! 😊
The song is awesome, the music video to it didn't go as well for it, it was not epic enough.
Sounds really good, but the female voice is not well mixed with the rest imo.
+EinWindir86 What does that even mean?
+EinWindir86 i like her voice, I think it fits really well. but to each his own i guess
If she kept this type of singing style in this album it would be flawless. But sadly there's only a few good songs where her voice isn't annoying.
