Good stuff. I think that commute is a factor as well. Let's say you have to drive 15 minutes to the gym, 30 minutes to train, and 15 minutes to drive back home - that's 30 minutes of training and 30 minutes of driving. In an instance like that you might be better off doing 45 minutes to an hour of calisthenics and kettlebells at the house.

      True.
Commute + packing a gym bag + showering there for me adds like 60-75 minutes to the workout time.
Usually I've gone just 2-3 days a week and mafe it a proper full body training to make the trip worth it.
But I'm moving to a dorm with an apartment gym soon, so I'll be able to just train there most of the time, splitting my training into smaller 45-75 minute training sessions.

Opposite situation: I have plenty of time to train but tennis training in my 40s already takes a good chunk of my weekly training capacity. I liked your video about „doing the minimums“, but maybe you have more on the topic? Thanks

Brother Will. I’ve been watching lots of your videos lately and I’ve learned very much from you. Deploying soon and your videos help a lot as the equipment and time available to train is limited. Thanks

Good point about unilateral exercises taking up a lot of time. That’s the biggest reason for me why I hate doing them. Makes 3 sets feel like 6 sets

Thoughts on using a kettlebell as home equipment for training on limited time? Also, it can eliminate muscle imbalances and can be great tool for olympic training/powerlifting.

Hey man, there's a ton of advice out there for "cutting"; fair amount of material for athletic style training; tons of strength or hypertrophy specific info and programs.
If an athlete is already training fairly hard in their off season (a program like Hoss or something similar, 3 or 4 heavy hitting days) and wants to cut weight "permanently" (not just a weigh-in water cut, but trying to seriously drop weight to try to move from TE to WR or FB to RB), what general advice and major programming changes would you make?

How many exercises do you usually shoot for in a workout and how many days a week do you lift?

Do you think a dedicated cardio day is still necessary if you're doing EMOMs? It seems like there's a very strong cardio component to them, especially if you're doing more than 1 rep.

Would playing pickup Basketball once a week for like 90 minutes be good enough for aerobic conditioning?

depends on how hard you play lol. if you stand in the corner for 90 minutes waiting for a pass then probably not haha

Field sports are pretty awesome for building a lot of aerobic, anaerobic, and lactic threshold fitness if you're reasonably active and aggressive in play. You can never go wrong adding more Zone 1 aerobic work to a routine, and it's so casual and low intensity that you probably won't hurt or inflame anything by doing 60-120min extra a week. (But it costs time - probably the next best thing would be seriously high intensity HIIT on a low impact machine like a C2 rower or an assault bike)
Unless you had some specific deficiency you notice that holds back your play (can jog up and down the court all day but lack speed or agility when needed), or have a specific goal that requires other inputs (need to achieve a certain mile time for a sport tryout or test), that low and slow Zone 1 work pays the most dividends to the other forms of fitness at the least cost to all your other shit (the sport; your lifting; your recovery; etc)

@@ccat9354 so I should just do like 20-30 minutes of Incline Walking at like 3 miles per hour 2-3x/week on top of the lifting and one Basketball session?

What do you think of a short version of conjugate for limited time?
    for example
Work to to a 1rm then back off with 5x5@70-75%.

Find a heavy weight. Move it around enough that after 10 minutes you are too tired to move it anymore. Do that three times with different movements.

Will you pack so much info in these short videos. I get so tired of the lengthy influencer videos that are so redundant.
