Seen your channel posted on Reddit and I have photoshop so figured I'd give this a try. I followed along (copied for the most part) but decided I wanted to add some moss over the rocks and had a surprisingly good result. I can definitely see some pixel art and music being a nice stress reliever, might've found a new hobby.

I've been trying and failing to draw rocks for 25 years. Pen and paper is hard enough, forget about pixels. You just made it super easy to understand and I'm totally going to try this in my GB Studio game. If you're giving out keys still, I would appreciate one. Regardless, many thanks for this tutorial!
You explained your thought processes so well! It really easy for me to understand. I recently got into pixel art and I've made some great blobs for myself. But your tutorials really helped me to make things other than... blobs. If you still got a key, may I have it?
This tutorial is a reverse one. The simple rectangular shading should be in the first part then the actual draiwng of rock should be the second part. A bit confused at the start but it made sense at the end. Thanks, Pete!

rocks can be round sometimes, it can imply the location is ancient and has been exposed to the elements for a hella long time! Just use some dithering to give the rocks a rough look and I think it'd work nicely!

MilkyTracker, the application that makes music for it, is a serious pain to use. Could you remake this using specifically the Dawnbringer 32 color palette (without adding custom colors) ? It's the palette I'm using and although I'm getting somewhere decent and your video has helped a great ton, it doesn't look that good still and I suspect it's because of me and not because of the color palette. I'd love to see how you would go about with those colors

if you got an extra key that'd be awesome. i'm in such a serious bind and any little bit helps... i'm currently using piskel and it doesnt seem to have the opacity/onion skin that i want... like why can't i freakin darken the onion skin??? plus the opacity thing for shading... granted i'm sure i could find the shade i need by simple trial and error, but halving it seems so much simpler. also piskel might be an okay program, but i've noticed "glitches" on saved animations. either way, the more the merrier. if not then i just want to commend and thank you for straight up having an awesome and fun personality, it makes tutorials easier to watch cuz it's similar to hanging out with a friend rather than going to class. i give you a classic youtube rating system of 5 stars.

well in all reality, rocks are actually rarely gray. usually they have browns, yellows, orange, reds... blues, even greens. i guess it's depends on what kind of minerals there are in the rocks. just google rocks images and you will see that grays are actually the rarest ones that would show up.

I failed really hard compiling it and actually corrupted my computer memory doing it. Now I'm drawing using my phone and that's ok.
