Bosnian from the U.S envious of your opportunity to visit my mother land. Some of us were forced to leave and wish we never had. I don’t have to explain to those living in the U.S how hard it is to get time off and get enough money saved for plane tickets , spending money and money to family ( can’t go without gifts). Heck, even the Australian Bosnians have more vacation time that is more paid off than we do. I work on a salary and no dedicated vacation time. They say you just need to get approved get someone to take on your work. I took one week off and everyone was complaining. While most western countries view vacation as a right and a positive aspect of employment, here isn’t frowned upon and viewed with jealousy and resentment from management to coworkers. Insha’Allah I make it to Bosnia next year. Best wishes to you.

I stayed when I was in Mostar at a lovely family who were living just at the border with the Croat side of the city. They told me about the times during the war and about a Yemeni man and his nephew who came to help the Muslims in Mostar during the war.

You are not eating salmon you are eating trout. I understand you guys are muslim and that is a rich part of bosnian history but there are there are three religions there… you can make mention of that lol also make a mention that 99% of the bars and restaurants serve alcohol if you want to paint a realistic picture of Bosnia, also what you want to buy from the bazars in Mostar is copper plates of the old bridge or a painting.. not sure who your tour guide is but those you cant buy in Sarajevo as they are hand made by artists there.
It's not salmon fish btw, it's trout, the guy probably didn't know the correct name for it :) Buna is famous for trout. Salmon doesn't exist in Bosnia's rivers.
In Bosnia Muslims we are 97% Sunni Hanafi Muslims, 1,2% Shia Muslims, 1,8% Salafi. Personally I am Hanafi Sunni and I consider Shia Muslims as our Brother Muslims.The Bosnian president Alija Izetbegovic who himself was a Hanafi Sunni was the closest to Iran and during the war when nobody wanted to help the Muslims in Bosnia Iran was the country that provided help and sent tens of thousands of tones of weapons so that the Bosnian Muslims could defend themself. Muslim unity is important. Also Pakistan sent much help. It was like this = Iran sent 75% of all help, Pakistan sent 20% and the rest 5% was Indonesia,Malaysia and Brunei, I was suprised when I learned Brunei as an Island near Indonesia sent help.

Pakistan and Iran helped Bosnia in 1992 while when the president of Bosnia Alija went to Saudi Arabia they told him in Jedda they could not sent help sorry same with Turkiye. These are historic facts although this might be unpleasant to recognize for some people.

I understand you guys are muslim and that is a rich part of bosnian history but there are there are three religions there… you can make mention of that lol also make a mention that 99% of the bars and restaurants serve alcohol if you want to paint a realistic picture of Bosnia, also what you want to buy from the bazars in Mostar is copper plates of the old bridge or a painting.. not sure who your tour guide is but those you cant buy in Sarajevo as they are hand made by artists there.

In Bosnia Muslims we are 97% Sunni Hanafi Muslims, 1,2% Shia Muslims, 1,8% Salafi. Personally I am Hanafi Sunni and I consider Shia Muslims as our Brother Muslims.The Bosnian president Alija Izetbegovic who himself was a Hanafi Sunni was the closest to Iran and during the war when nobody wanted to help the Muslims in Bosnia Iran was the country that provided help and sent tens of thousands of tones of weapons so that the Bosnian Muslims could defend themself. Muslim unity is important. Also Pakistan sent much help. It was like this = Iran sent 75% of all help, Pakistan sent 20% and the rest 5% was Indonesia,Malaysia and Brunei, I was suprised when I learned Brunei as an Island near Indonesia sent help.

Pakistan and Iran helped Bosnia in 1992 while when the president of Bosnia Alija went to Saudi Arabia they told him in Jedda they could not sent help sorry same with Turkiye. These are historic facts although this might be unpleasant to recognize for some people.
