    I love the high regenerative breaking, the default setting. Charge at home and you'll never have to spend any time at a public charger. It's my only car and I love it.

    I own a 2023 version of the Mini Cooper electric and 0-60 is like 6.2 seconds and actual range is about 140 miles. Since I posted on here I have added some suspension modifications and light weight wheels and it seems like efficiency increased a bit, handling is now much better! Oh and my mini is my daily driver.

      🎉 everyone’s range maybe different due to how you push the pedal and the same with 0-60, thanks for your owners insight.

      My 2020 se has 250km (150 miles) range and 6.0 0-60mph (6.5 0-100 kph). 6.9 is the quoted time, which is very conservative. The se will smoke a JCW until you get to illegal speeds.

      Y’all must be lying about the range…car says 114..and people had said it’s not like 110 lol but 140 and 160 ..lol

      The mpg equivalent and the range 🤔
      Well 💭
      It’s like having a 1 gal tank with a 1/2 gal fudging reserve.
      Definitely needs a bigger tank 🤨

    I'm sick of the harping on the range. I have a 2024 Mini Cooper SE in top spec trim.
    We are getting between 120 to 140 miles of range depending on how hard we push it. Last weekend we managed to go 90 miles (starting at 100% SOC) hammering it down country roads at speeds upto 70 MPH, high speed cornering in hilly terrain. We still had 21 percent SOC when we got home.
    Most people drive less than 40 miles per day. This means we can drive it for 2 days or more before it needs to be charged, which we do in our own Garage.
    Ooh and BTW you can go 0-60 in 6 seconds flat.

      🎉 and thanks for your buyers insight, oh and everything I explained is correct as each owner may have different range due to driving history.

      @zeroseph3717 Not for us. We charge at home, won't use it for road trips over 200 miles.
      It is a perfect second car and one of the most fun cars to drive I've ever driven.
      I have driven loads of cars, from sports cars, luxury cruisers, SUV,'s, trucks and others.
      You need to look past the range number, especially if you have a use case that doesn't require you to drive more than 100 miles for the majority of your driving daily usage.
      I'd argue this specified use case is the use case for 97 percent of vehicles on the road today. Most vehicles sit parked for 18 or more hours everyday.

    Awesome review! I have a 2022 Cooper SE as a second car with my S Plaid. The Mini is significant slower, but I ❤ it. It’s so small and cozy! Today I have ordered a new 2024 Cooper SE in island blue with black bonnet stripes and white roof and mirror caps, will be great!

    I purchased one of these and just love it. These cars are smaller, sportier handling and on the firmer side whether gas or electric. I wouldn't want to take a mini on a long road trip anyway but for a second vehicle for driving around town, which is 90% of my driving, they are a blast. I am able to charge at level 1 through standard outlet in my garage every 2-3 days. Costs less than $3.00 for a full charge and around 130 miles range so it's cheaper to drive than my motorcycle! If you don't drive more than 50 miles per day and you like sportier handling cars I would highly recommend taking one of these for a spin before they are gone! Who says EV's have to be boring🙂

      In Florida average commute is 45 minutes to one hour so that is close to 100miles round trip. Look it up this is quite normal, 30-45 miles one way, the US in 2019 was nearly 30 miles one way with an increase over 11% increase from 2018 👍

    • @Yeahyeah-ic8xm
      @Yeahyeah-ic8xm ปีที่แล้ว

      In an electric car, driving in traffic improves your range and 60 miles round trip is about half this battery pack.

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Yeahyeah-ic8xm like I said in the review, I like the vehicle but we travel 80-120 miles to work. The teams I work with are all over Florida and my wife works 90 miles round trip. If our work was close I would have this in my garage 👍

    Coming from a person who has driven a small EV before. Don't buy any EV that has less than 250 miles of range. If you have 100 or 150 miles of range, considering your AC, heater, weather temperature, traffic, you could have a range issue even in just one day of driving.

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a great point 👍

  • @felipe_silve

    The acceleration is definitely traction limited. With traction control on, you don't notice it, but if you turn off traction, you get lots of wheel spin off the line. When my stock tires run out, I will test with Michelin ps4s, traction off, I think you can get into the high 5s

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your owners insight

    • @felipe_silve
      @felipe_silve ปีที่แล้ว

      The tires that came with mine are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 3, 205/45 R17, which are UHP summer tires. They are not bad, but not in the same league as Michelin PS4S. Despite wheel spin from a dig, there is no wheel hop, unlike my previous MK7 GTI where the front end would jump as the wheel spun and felt like I was breaking the car.
      The brakes are adequate. Brake pedal feel is especially good for an EV, the transition between regen and actual brakes is seamless and does not feel disconnected. I will say from higher speeds, 70+ MPH, I would like a bit more braking confidence for spirited driving. With the additional weight, it would benefit from the larger JCW brakes.
      I wish you could set the steering and throttle response separately to retain the sport throttle response but light steering. There is a weird delay with the acceleration and regen in the balanced mode. Steering feel is pretty decent, you can definitely feel what the front wheels are doing.
      The suspension feels relatively stiff at low speeds over broken pavement, but at higher speeds, it rides surprisingly well over bumpy back roads. There is body roll, but it's well controlled. The 50/50 weight distribution makes it very neutral in corners and the extra weight just gives it that confidence inspiring planted feel. Regarding the range, it hasn't been an issue for me, as 99% of my daily driving is short distances to work and back. I have a level 2 charger at home. Just plug in in overnight, no need to go get gas every 2 weeks. On the 1% of instances where I need to go on a road trip, I use my gas car. If I didn't have a second car, I would probably just rent a car for longer trips, still comes out cheaper.

      A longer range means a bigger battery, heavier car, more expensive, etc. etc. We love our Mini as we rarely need to go more than 50 miles in a day. Maybe once a month. Then we take the Rivian. The elec Mini is a blast to drive, way more fun than our ICE Mini was.
