This is awesome Doc! Thank you for sharing but sorry I have to agree. There is no point of dragging the stripers on the sand and tossing them out like a small largemouth. They can be fragile and our goal is to preserve them and decrease mortality so our future generations can enjoy them. I used to get excited and get crazy but after catching PB’s I’d rather release the fish as fast as ai can so they have a better chance of survival. Goodluck on your next adventures.
nice bro! id love to join you sometime. Im over in brick. I got a 17 foot cobia, hoping to perfect my trolling technique for blues and stripers this spring, but id like to do some surf fishing over the winter as i stock up on gear for the spring and summer.
im new to surf fishing, can you explain to me why I see sometimes people surf fish for bass using bait (bunker, clam, etc.) versus just using the lures like yourself? Is that because they are out there in the masses right now during the fall run, so lures are a better choice? nice vid!
I really enjoy the passion & joy that you display in your videos - Thank you! As an older guy wanting to get backing surf fishing, would you mind sharing (writing) the bait and/or lures that you are using in your videos - and the fish you are choosing them for? I think you mentioned what you used in passing in this video, but I didn't catch the name of the lure. Thanks again - and happy fishing! -
You welcome man, thanks for watching. The lures I used were, -Madd mantis spook either 5” or 6” -Yozuri 3d inshore topknock pencil -Blitz performance quigley metal lip -Savage gear pencil popper 5” -Custom purple over silver metal lip not sure the brand. When there is a lot of bait around anything you throw matching what the fish are feeding on should get hit. Hope this helps, happy fishing and tight lines.
Hi nice video great fishing you really wet my appetite am CT but there season has been so horrible no blitz even though the fall run is on going dry as hell anyway what rod and reel are you using the recovery is awesome.
Bro, you have waders on, walk the fish down to the water to release it safely rather then chucking it like a damn football. Why in the world would you toss it like that?
Yes. Effective May 15, 2024, the SBBP regulations are as follows: One fish per permit at 24″ to less than 28″ May 15, 2024 - December 31, 2024 Bonus harvest reporting is mandatory and must be reported within 24 hours of harvest. New Jersey’s current recreational striped bass regulations in all state waters are as follows: One fish 28″ to 31″ With a bonus permit, anglers can keep one fish at 24 inches to less than 28 inches from May 15 through December 31, 2024. Reporting bonus harvest within 24 hours is mandatory. Please note the order of fish harvested does not matter (Bonus fish can be the 1st or 2nd fish). If a Bonus fish is harvested, the SBBP Permit must be securely attached to the fish through the mouth and gill immediately upon capture and prior to transportation. Harvest reporting is mandatory within 24 hours of harvest and must be reported online or by leaving a message at 609-748-2074.
Sweet ! . When I get a hit on top water in the surf after I get the bit I set the hook then I give him slack not much just a little they like to turn the bait in their mouth before they run I have had a lot of success with it . amazing great video glad your on the fish.
I'm not talking about flipping the bail . All that you have to do is drop the rod tip just a little. It works for me anyway .I'm in the 50 club and I'm really glad to see the restrictions on bass this year. When I was a kid they weren't around they wiped them out back then . But now they are so plentiful anybody can go out with a chunk of Bunker and catch a monster
We all realize it’s very exciting, but you need to work on releasing these fish the right way. The mortality rate is currently off the charts because of improper method of release
Nice catch! Don’t understand all haters? Seen someone drop John Skinner’s name here 🙄I’ve seen skinner drop many bass back in the water with no remorse. Nothing wrong with any of his releases or catches in this vid whatsoever. Stop hating on the man. Looks to me like a great day of fishing. Props brotha!
Seaside park , Doc nice fish but man don't drag that fish into dry sand and gotta say most piss poor release I've seen in a long time . Guy named Skinner wrote a book on Stripers....
13:06 ... YO DOC !!!! Now that's a Striper my friend. Wish I could fish with ya !!!!
Great job Doc !!!!
Hard to believe a guy with this much experience doesn’t know how to safely release a fish. Wow.
You can see he doesn't know what he's doing when he tightens the drag on his first fish and breaks off his lure. 100% his fault.
Crazy....he throws it like it's a football. Seen him do this on other videos of his. Unsubscribed.
Keep fishing and having fun every day you going learn something new. Stay fishing
Great job Doc, epic day
One favor: just one more video like this !! This is awesome man
Incredible. We need to try the white and yellow bucktail
YO DOC.. WHERE CAN I PARK MY SEMI TRUCK AN JOIN U ?? 🎣🎣🎣

Unbelievable great day really enjoy watching it. God bless.
Was waiting for one of your vids. Good stuff!! Hooked into a few last Saturday myself.
Awesome! Without giving up your spot, what area of NJ are you fishing?
Way to go Doc!! Those were some really nice catches.
everyone in Jersey caught Fish last week. I must have landed at least 22
Beautiful PB !! Congratulations ! I'll be on the beach tomorrow and this weekend.

Awesome day. The dude in shorts and barefoot thought its a summer striper run?
Waiting on them pods that are on the way slowly
Been so many times. I wish fish were this close when I went. You killed it tho. Even when fish get like that some people choke it’s still tough

Thanks. Odm genesis 9’ and Van staal vsx 150
@ShoreManDocFishing Alright thanks
where about area you have been?
Heck ya brother!!! Wow , I really gotta get out there , I live 30 minutes from Atlantic City!! Keep up the hustle! Love the vids
Lets go Doc !
Nice fish...easy plugging is fun. I might suggest that more side arm pressure may help drop fewer fish.
Thanks for the video.
Bro, you have waders on, walk the fish down to the water to release it safely rather then chucking it like a damn football. Why in the world would you toss it like that?
Where exactly are you fishing? Is there a limit and size on the stripers?
Yes.

How do you cast so far?
Wind helped a lot with distance.
Braided line and strong reel will do wonders my boy!
When cast far you cover more water you get big fish
HES UNGUARDABLE
Good shyt.... nothing like that sound of the drag
Fished Seaside on 11/9/24. Absolute insanity. Huge bass on adult bunker
Where you fish at man
where is this in nj
Great job
nice work my brotha !
Thanks brotha 👊🏾

Thanks! I’ll try that out next time.
I don't know about giving the fish slack but one thing you def don't want to do is tighten the drag like he did on the 1st one that snapped off.
I'm not talking about flipping the bail . All that you have to do is drop the rod tip just a little. Nice !!!!
Thanks!
That was sick bro, topwater is the best
I missed that bite by one day 😆 Always happens
Give me the address of this place in new jersey so I can fish there .
Nice, what kind of lure was that ?
Madd mantis spook
Epic day Doc. Safe to assume that the size u were using was plan 159? 1.7 oz?
We all realize it’s very exciting, but you need to work on releasing these fish the right way. The mortality rate is currently off the charts because of improper method of release
Where that beach at ? In nj

Thanks brotha 👊🏾 and yeah it’s crazy out here!
@@ShoreManDocFishing Gotta head out there. Guessing the morning bit is good? Also was that a mad mantis spook lure?
Anytime is good depending on tides and visible bait and birds working. And yeah
Do you have to pay to get on that beach bra?!! Is it off season? I wanna go!!!
The season is in and no you don’t have to pay the beaches are free!
At least the fish are getting released every time I'm out.I see people keeping fish they shouldn't.
horrible release, this is why so many stripers die after being caught
Seaside park , Doc nice fish but man don't drag that fish into dry sand and gotta say most piss poor release I've seen in a long time . Guy named Skinner wrote a book on Stripers....
hard to watch those awful releases.
You’re off by about 48 miles but A for effort
Not even close to seaside park lol. I knew 5 seconds into the video where this was
at least it wasn't a $30 plug😂
Who you telling! Lol
Nice!!!
