Dearest Gurumaharaj, Srila Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaj,
Please accept our most humble obeisances. We humbly beg You to forgive our inability to glorify dear Srila Gurudev with any competence.
Here, one can't have happiness without pain,
What’s nectar in the beginning is poison down the lane.
This material world is for the truly insane-
If we forget Your sacrifices, our lives will go in vain.
Let’s stand beside our loved ones, as we sing Your eternal glories again and again.
By Your sweet words, I glimpsed a glorious world,
Gilded streams of enlightenment unfurled.
Incandescent trails of wonder
Blew my complacent world asunder.
A gorgeous ethereal sphere from above
Revealed a transcendental world of love,
Beckoned me, called me to stay,
So close, but my conditioned desire drew me away.
Death, don’t be proud of what you took,
From where this topmost Vaiṣṇava, freely unhook.
Real love, You magnanimously convey,
In the hearts of Your sincere followers, You would constantly stay.
Emphasizing: "All mistakes, let them go; it's toxic, can't you see?"
Let them all be lessons-new beginnings set you free.
Begging, I declare, I can't do this all alone, I decree-
Step by step, hand in hand, by Your Lotus feet, is where I desire to be.
Destined fate, and no longer blind to see,
Yearning so intense for the fallen soul to agree.
Unburden oneself, to be humble at heart,
Where You proclaim, we will be one in spirit and never apart.
Trouble surrounds the eye of the storm-
Hastily surrender to the original form.
Transcendental warrior, You traveled, preaching day and night,
For Srila Prabhupada, You boldly declared, “Fight!”
Eternal life or suffering is for us to choose,
Or our constitutional position to frivolously lose.
Rest assured, one will find throughout the coming years,
Your mercy will manifest in the hearts of sincere disciples and peers.
You, Srila Prabhupada’s eternal entourage, from the topmost region appears,
Making devotees from gallons of blood and tears.
The most courageous heroes have faced the ultimate fears,
Assuring us: “Just because I’m gone, my love never disappears.”
From sinners to saints, transformed by You,
But there is still so much left to do.
You linked us to Parampara, benefiting everyone,
Assuring us that the soul’s freedom could be won.
Srila Prabhupada’s eternal general, whose fighting days are not done,
Your work in the heavens has only just begun.
On that fateful day, as our destiny unfolds,
We follow the path that we choose today.
We beg Your blessing, that when we come upon heaven's gate,
You promised that Srila Prabhupada and You would surely wait.
At that critical hour,
Your causeless mercy upon us, You will shower,
To fulfill our only desire, You promised to empower.
If I don’t make it home, please remember it wasn’t because I didn’t try-
The last thing I wanted was to make You cry.
I want more than anything to make it back to You,
But there may be a job You just wanted me to do.
Following one great leader, one great notion,
Ecstasy in distributing transcendental devotion.
I love Your kind and thoughtful way,
And the joy You bring to my life every day.
I love You today, as I have from the start,
I’ll love You forever, from the core of my heart.
There’s immensely more to Your story,
But this fool, Janaka Raj, is incompetent to sing Your monumental glory.
