It better not be Velocity blue! Haha. I too am working on my 1999 extended cab. Inner and outer rockers, new doors, new fenders, etc... But I'm hoping the first to do a older body style "tremor" package with the "black appearance package". It's getting velocity blue in just a few weeks!
My dad hasn’t washed his truck once since new in 2003. It’s a quad cab ram 3500 sport with the diesel and it’s been through albertas winters since then. Most trucks are actually not bad from then becuase we use sand not salt but I can stick my head through his cab corner lol.

Ryan, just an old body trick. Thin coats help with sanding. Then when you think your straight put a light speckled black top coat rattle can to see your low spots. Looking good!
I work at a body shop and just a tip is when your applying bondo, push down more and it will make the sanding process easier because there won’t be as many clumps
You should change it up once and do something crazy with a Ford lightning! But on a serious note I like Ford dodge and Chevy but for has been a favorite of mine so I’m glad you got the goat of all Ford pickups can’t wait to see the crazy build done

I took my 06 f350 to the Amish and they sand blasted it and painted it with por15. But when I did my inner and outer rockers and cab corners we sprayed the inner side of it with bed liner to make sure it would not rust for a good while just another idea to do when your doing rockers for it to last
@matthew kraehling no joke I was in welding school and honestly watched a good bud of mine grinding his 6g pipe test with a 1/8 wheel bust and hit is safety glasses and come mere 32nd from his eye ball... probably the wildest thing ever when he'd blink his eye lid scraped it
I have an 02 f350, v10, 6 speed, 4 door short bed, same color... I was going to take to scrap... But after seeing this, i am going to do some thing to frame... All of mine has rust but rockers are decent for now. Needs bed though
Would be awesome to do this to my second gen. But ohios weather sucks and also dont have the most ammount of time or space to do anything, unfortunately may sell it after this winter for something newer,but keep it up always enjoy the builds !!
Just picked up a crew cab international fire truck we converted to our service/fitting truck for my excavation business. Has a 7.3 in it. I’m located in Ohio. Do y’all do tuning? Need more power for pulling equipment.
Next time try panel bond buddy its what they use to put new cars together its stronger than the metal itself .. it is what my body guys uses on all his jobs .. and good thing no welding.. and thanks for the great old style Ryan video !

I’ll be honest with you I’ve been painting stuff that had rust on it for years and it will always come back if you don’t fully remove it down to bare metal I mean if you keep it I’m sure you would do a real restoration down the line

I would recommend wearing a respirator when using that chassis paint, or any paint for that matter.

Why fiberglass over regular bondo , for adding new panels? Arnt the new and old panels steel?
Would definitely recommend real safety glasses. Grinder discs breaking apart are no joke and sunglasses won’t save your eyes.

When you painted that frame, why didn't you cover up that fuel sending unit? Are you gonna change that out?
