it's actually really easy I don't know why you guys make this so complicated. we are all humans. the most difficult part in Japan is to be able to speak japanese... and even without speaking i met and did a lot of new friends when i was there that made me want to learn japanese even more

Well, because in Japan, most people who talk to strangers like this are either religious or scammers. No wonder they are suspicious. Besides, most of the foreigners in this video probably already knew him. He is somewhat well known to foreigners, but totally unknown to the Japanese.
@@carloenixHow did you meet them? I'm moving to rural Japan and I'm a bit of an ambivert so I'm pretty nervous I'll have trouble meeting new people...
Rural dwelling Japanese people are noticeably more easy going and willing to talk, probably because they're curious about travellers and they don't get the chance to talk to them often
This man don't even imagine how much he makes for the society. Japanese people really struggling not having friends and I hope this will start some good trend to make friends with strangers. Thank you Jesse-san!
As a half Japanese myself, in regards to making friends with Japanese people, I think the reason you kept getting rejected is due to your initial approach. Your first line, "do you want to be my friend!?" can seem too abrupt, without any context explaining Why you want to be friends. I think if you approach them casually, introducing yourself and that you're looking for more Japanese friends, and Then inviting them to your party, I feel you would've gotten more approvals.
lmao no it would've barely mattered... the issue is that it takes time for Japanese people to even be comfortable to be your friend, much less visit your house on the first day you meet them.
@@NO1xANIMExFAN You're both right. Not everyone is ready for that- or comfortable, but equally the abrupt nature of it may put pressure on people making them choose not to.
@@NO1xANIMExFAN Like the half Japanese girl said in the video, it all depends on the place you go. The places he went most people are on the move in their own mindset going about their work. I’ve been here afew years. And honestly Japanese are very difficult to befriend. Like they’ll be polite and friendly on the surface. But once you try to build that long term friendship they get flaky, the stop replying to messages, etc. not all of them ofcourse, but foreigners are waaaay friendlier. On the other hand, I’m dating a Japanese girlfriend and she’s easily the best dating experience I’ve ever had. And one of my close friends here is Japanese and he’s super supportive and great
This video kind of reminded me of people you see posting on the internet about how bored and or lonely they are. Meanwhile, they ignored all their friends or people who reached out to them to talk or hangout.
It went actually very well! Thank you for showing us. I am 100% introvert but I enjoyed the video very much! I am learning Japanese and will for sure visit Japan some day. Living in Germany, I find it way more difficult to make friends here than in Asia. If you are non-asian, trying to make friends in Asia, it is not THAT hard. But as an asian, in Europe, we are like invisible lol
This is the most wholesome video I've ever watched on making friends. It has definitely turned me up to go ahead and make new friends as an introvert, and I'm just glad I watched it ❤

Jesse, you and your team are literally SAVING and UNITING people with your content. Be it you or strangers getting out of your comfort zones, it’s all with a positive and growth-oriented conscious goal in mind
That was super cool idea, and how it developed in the end. I guess by you being a 'famous' youtuber people were more friendly, but it shows many things about the japanese society. And if would be 10x harder if i was in the rural area of Japan, but worked greatly in Tokyo.
It's harder in rural areas of Japan because of the age difference. Most of the people in rural areas are older than 40 and do not party or even have a get together like this anymore.
i LOVE watching strangers become friends!! it’s so cool seeing how well everyone hung out together!! if you do another video on this please do it in january LOL ILL BE THERE FOR MY 21ST BDAY

This is great but I feel like the point is that it’s hard to make friends in Japan with Japanese people so I’d love to see you try it again with for example only Japanese-speaking people to see if Japanese people would come to this sort of thing
I've seen this idea before done in America, but to think you could pull it off in Japan, that's incredible man! Congrats to you, your team and your new friends! Excellent video! Make more friends! Part 2!!!

I think those that didn't make it would want to go to another party after seeing how much fun everyone had at this party. Would be a nice follow up video and maybe making more friends for everyone.
The ones who wouldn't make it didn't want to join in the first place. Especially the ones who have to work or have other plans. They always will have other plans.
