Thank you for such an informative video, I have just gotten my open water license and am still struggling on frog kick. hopefully I will be better soon:)
Since I learned the frog kick, I rarely use the flutter again except when I'm in a place without silt in the bottom or if I need more power to move against the current or to catch a buddy who's not good at keeping arm distance :P Great job Olivia! Oh just one point: it would have been good to have an illustrated version of the explanation of the flutter propulsion to see how it kicks up the silt, but I know it's a bit more work hehe. Maybe next time! :) oh and Ouch! That sun burn is brutal! Please put some aloès vera on it asap! :-P and have a quick recovery!
I like to switch between frog and modified flutter. Variety and still doesn’t still up silt. And trust me at least your burn is even. I have the old farmer tan…
Was surprised to see the frog kick with the knees bent 90 deg to bring the shins vertical. I always thought the knees were displaced downward keeping the feet in plane with the body. Flutter kick should displace water backwards, not down. Perhaps your fins are too stiff or toes not pointed?
I’m so glad I took swim lessons when I was little and now I will be able to use those kicking techniques in the future while SCUBA diving.
Easy explanation, great video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Hmm, I've never seen a frog kick done any other way than at 90 degrees. Flutter kick creates an upwelling of the water behind you
Gran vídeo! Que certificados de buceo tienes ?
I am a staff instructor as well as hold several specialty instructor course certifications.
The flutter kick is my only and go to kick for scuba diving. Besides I am using spilt fins so I don't ever use the frog kick.
With a split fin you can't do any other type of kick. They're my least favorite style of fin for this reason
@@FullySubmerged That's why I only use the Flutter kick. Great video.
Be worth ebaying/facebook marketplacing the splits and getting a pair of decent fins.
You did a wonderful job
Is it bad I was never taught this in OW🤣
No it's not actually a skill in the curriculum
@@FullySubmerged oh well then never mind 🤣
