      Lols I work in legal and you actually want to be somewhat picky about which pen you sign important documents with. A lot of the cheaper brands skip randomly and/or it doesn’t show up as well when scanned. It can look bad if it skips cause you basically have to draw over your signature again and it might appear forged

      That's 200 per pen. They always switch to a brand new pen for every document they sign. They also sign multiple of the same document for each person in the room so they all have a keepsake.

      back in the '90s you could walk into any stationary store, Staples, OfficeMax, BizMart, etc. and buy one for around $40 when they were relevant, nowadays people do so little pen writing no one cares about em anymore so they're more expensive

      tbf in the world of fountain pens, $90-$200 isnt all that expensive. They're built to last, and dont try out at all. Once they run out, you can just get refills that are way cheaper

    I grew up in Lincoln Rhode Island, where A.T. Cross was located until it was bought out fairly recently. 35 years old and never knew that that company I would drive by all the time built the pens presidents use. Neat lol.

    I like the one Trump used because it was such a bold signature that he could do with it compared to presence of the past which were much more fine-lined and elegant. It was very much a standout one and it made his signature definitely stand out for sure

      The terrifying thing about the pen world is that top of the line pens actually start at ~$300 and up. Premium pens usually run ~$400-$500, maybe topping out at around $800. And limited and special edition pens start at $1k. Crazy how quickly it can turn into such an expensive hobby/interest.

      Whenever you sign important documents everyone wants the pen so at one setting you can see a president handing out a lot of pens. And since the cheapest of these pens are $200 imagine a cigar box full of pens being given away at important signings I think he was saving lots of money switching to the sharpy.
