Andor is a project I'm looking forward to regardless of how things have been lately. They've taken the time, and know exactly what they are working toward in terms of the story. Films that are part of a larger arc... the formula that works.

Let us hope Disney doesn’t extend their corporate claws onto this masterpiece of a show, lest they stain it beyond recognition as they did with The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian S3.

My prediction for Luthen's fate is that Cassian kills him. The very first thing we learn about Cassian in Rogue One is that he is not above killing his allies if he feels it a necessity. It could be that Luthen is in danger of being apprehended or something like that and Cassian has to make the choice to protect the Rebellion by executing the one who brought him in in the first place.

But that’s the problem: the sequel trilogy is not supposed to be a remake but a sequel!
It’s supposed to be in the same time as Luke’s but telling the same story verbatim with the same status quo for the universe undermines Luke’s story (especially if you kill him off)
It’s not just Luke either: it’s basically every character in the Galactic Civil War Era. Andor is a prime example: when we first see him and Jyn in Rogue One we are familiar with the victory from ROTJ and how their sacrifices contributed. Even if we do get a second Death Star in ROTJ it’s still incomplete, displaying how the empire is scrambling while the rebellion is spreading
However, the events of the sequels with the fleet of Death Star Destroyers and the companion comics with Vader on Exegol ultimately confirm both death stars as red herrings. With that said Jyn and Cassian gave their lives for red herrings(Bodi Ruk going out like so without a chance to flex his piloting screws HIM over either way)

@@KRobinson-ko1neyeh that never made sense Vader visiting Exegol finding out about Palapatine's secret "Sith Fleet", but then how many years later, when he comes back to the lightside as Anakin, he never bothers to advise, or guise his son to picking up his wayfinder he had on his Castle grounds at Mustafar. Or how Anakin guides and helps Ahsoka in her series but where was Anakin to help his son Luke, when he fell at his lowest point at the time of TLJ flashbacks when he strolled into Ben's hut carrying his green lightsaber.
The writers at Lucasfilm in that storygroup are so dumb, especially that Pablo Hidalgo, they must be chugging down the woke koolade so much they can't see the lore for the hills.

It feels like current (Disney) Star Wars is only for new audiences, not for all fans. The lack of respect for legacy characters and canon created during the George Lucas era is simply too much.
Disney bought a brand, a customer base, and created an imitation product that is subpar and that, in most cases, doesn’t cater to the original fans but rather to the new “Disney Star Wars” fandom.
Sigh… we will always have Episodes 1-6.

8:21 Sorry but "good" doesn't cut it for a rey movie. rey comes with so much baggage that it honestly makes me nauseous of the idea of her story going any farther then it already has. the film would literally have to hypnotize and brainwash large swaths of the general star wars audience let alone the DIE HARD FANS into thinking that whatever they make will actually be again, not good, but absolutely a master piece.

  • @LordFleaBottom

*Qimir* *is* *Smilo* *Ren.* This has been leaked for a few days already but it’s only stating the obvious that we all saw coming a mile (or a smilo) away. There’s a leaked photo with the helmet off and I believe that’s Mae holding a lightsaber to give back to Qimir. I wonder how Mae reacts to Qimir since the first few episodes, she does treat him like a bumbling loser. You can see Mae talk down on him. Treats him like her clumsy sidekick. Then she will discover he was her master all this time.
I already expect all the haters on the Internet to trash that reveal saying they saw that reveal coming from a mile (or a smilo) away. How the writers are so stupid making it so obvious. I would’ve preferred if Qimir was a red herring and Smilo Ren was someone we haven’t seen yet, but alas, it’s as predictable as it comes. Now is Smilo Ren/Darth Venom/Qimir the acolyte, apprentice, or the master? That Force push was pretty strong for him to only be an acolyte.
As for the Star Wars fandom, is it really fandom if you truly hate it or mock it all the time? I think The Acolyte is overHATED as I don’t feel it deserves a 13% audience score. Is it really worse than The Rings of Power S1 with Galadriel acting like a Mary Sue and Karen? Is it worse than She-Hulk: Attorney of Law where the writers had no clue of She-Hulk’s origin story since they never read the comics? Did we see Mae and Osha twerking next to Aniseya? 🤣
I was reading a comment on Thor Skywalker and it was saying how grifters/extremists makes a nice profit if they’re basing their channels on hate/cancel culture. Look at The Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic full of hating if it happens to be WOKE. I think both sides are morons, the shills and the grifters/haters. The WOKE and the anti-WOKE are ruining people’s enjoyment to watch stuff. The more negative it is, the higher the clicks.
Star Wars Theory who used to be about talking Star Wars. Now he’s becoming a grifter like The Critical Drinker since they do live chats all the time. While TCD needs to be careful not to always sound toxic with his reviews because he’s directing a short feature. He doesn’t want to alienate the Hollywood industry he mocks. It’s why Chris Stuckmann went completely soft and can no longer be considered a critic. He will no longer CRITICize bad movies.
The haters just want to be funny. The worst the show is, the funnier these TH-camrs will try to be. But I will say The Acolyte hasn’t lived up to my low expectations. The Boys had an Episode 4 and House of the Dragon had an Episode 2 I thoroughly enjoyed. What good episode has The Acolyte given us? Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. No bueno. And I’m not sure Episode 5 is going to save it with that very predictable reveal.
I say to THINK FOR YOURSELF. Form your own opinion. You never let anybody do that for you in this social media beehive mentality we live in. Don’t hate or enjoy something because someone else does it. I follow Tyrone Magnus but I don’t always agree with his opinions and he’s a Trumper like me. I think mocking movies started with How It Should Have Ended which started in 2005 before most of us started using TH-cam. Then Honest Trailers in 2012 and Pitch Meeting in 2017.
Originally, Will Jordan’s TH-cam channel didn’t start off as him as “The Critical Drinker.” He found his niche once he bashed The Last Jedi in 2017 (which I think everyone did) and he’s never looked back since from that niche he found. He’s even more malicious than Siskel & Ebert from 1986-1999 until Gene Siskel’s death in 1999. But Will takes the mocking humor from Honest Trailers and Ryan George’s Pitch Meeting. Find the false logic from the movie’s story and mock the hell out of it.
Since 2017, the trend of mocking Star Wars or anything bad from Disney or mainstream Hollywood began. Hating, cancel culture, anti-WOKE, and parody accounts are a good business for them. The more negative, the higher the views. Add more facepalms in those thumbnails like Unbox Therapy has done for years. Most people on the Internet want to bash someone or something, not praise them. Hate humor: that’s what they all aim for.
I can understand the hatred towards The Acolyte. I saw Furiosa for the 5th time yesterday and I think it’s a modern classic. While not as great as Fury Road and maybe not as great as Mad Max 2, it’s still a helluva movie. My favorite movie of this summer so far. The pacing and action are relentless. Barely any time for quiet conversations. Furiosa is a box office flop led my a female not named Max, but I still enjoyed it. So I’m not being sexist if I think The Acolyte sucks if I enjoyed Furiosa.
I think the WOKE crowd are calling viewers sexists or racists as an excuse to defend a bad product like The Acolyte. While the anti-WOKE crowd might be too extreme with their hatred but they will still watch it weekly anyway so they can generate those views when they make a video mocking it. I also think the WOKE stuff in it is why The Acolyte never got a fair shake. Was never given a chance from the start. Lesyle or should I spell it Lez-lie?
Haters wanted to hate it before it ever premiered once Nerdrotic pointed out “space lesbians” after the trailers dropped. They wanted The Acolyte to fail from the start and it has. There’s excuse making from one side and then there’s overhating from the other side. I will watch Episode 5 tonight but if it sucks again like Episode 1-4 has been, I’ll stop watching it. I don’t need to waste anymore time finishing the series if I think it sucks.
Favorite Movie/TV Series of the Summer
    1. House of the Dragon S2
    2. The Boys S4 (moved up after Ep. 4)
    3. Furiosa (favorite movie of the summer)
    4. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
    5. Bad Boys: Ride or Die
The Boys S4 has also got it’s share of anti-WOKE criticisms even though The Boys has always been political since S2. Audience score is at *52%* rotten. But since The Acolyte is so bad, The Boys S4 doesn’t generate as much attention for having a low audience score. I’m giving The Boys S4 about a B so far, so it’s at 85%. S4 is better than S2 but not S1 or S3.
House of the Dragon S2 currently has a 92% audience score. It’s safe even with Black actors casted for white roles. Baela and Rhaena being Black and being Daemon’s daughters looks weird to me. But I digress because the production values, writing, and acting are all excellent. The same things can’t be said for The Acolyte. Is it 13% bad? No. More like 50% bad but not 13%. I give it a 6.5 which is 65% because I’m quite forgiving.

I know yeh I saw that, he literally looks like Ezra Miller too in the leaked shot and mae is pointing her lightsaber toward him.
Even though its revealed that Qimir is the smilo ren figure in that mask, Headland did say her first season does end, but at sametine she ends it in such a way that it could lead onto a season 2. So I'm still thinking Qimir is just the "Apprentice" to the actual "Master"; whether they'll actually reveal him though I doubt. I reckon they might So somekind of early Thanos reveal, where he's in shadows or you just see a small part of his face under a hood. Fir qimir to actually be THE SITH MASTER in this story and how obvious they've made it still seems quite lame to me, although even as a "apprentice" he's pretty damn powerful.

How is Rey "for the next generation" when she and the rest of the sequel cast failed to take off nearly a decade ago? If anything, Disney should have them fade into the background as supporting cast for an entirely new group of characters instead of trying to make her the star again.

    • @RaikenXion

Disney are just going on their previous original plans and stubbornly sticking to them to the letter. They always intended Rey and the sequels to lead the Franchise as the "Next Generation of Starwars" that was their one and ONLY "Plan"; and by Joe they're gonna stick to it; all while not even reading the room, and realising the truth that even most the younger generation are simply not invested in that era or those particular characters.
The Rey movie will ultimately be Disney's and Kennedy's main downfall, but you just gotta let then go through with it, its now simply a case of f**k arnd Disney and find out.

Where I disagree is the FACT that Acolyte doesn’t have the best writing, directing, vfx, etc. all of the problems combine and take most out of the feel. What’s the feel you ask? Well go do yourself a favor and watch anything of quality, and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about 😂. Tbh it’s not only an Acolyte problem, but most of the Disney plus shows have the same feel of being cheap, poorly directed and/or whimsically written (all except Andor). Not to mention the politics, which are clearly the priority for those bone heads over at Lucasfilm. What they fail to realize is that nobody cares about if your a woman, gay, alien, black, blue, green, etc. what people DO HOWEVER care about is good writing and immersion, if they do that before adding all the unnecessary ingredients their wouldn’t even be a problem in the first place 🤷🏽‍♂️… pretty obvious 😂.

They should have shown us Luke rebuilding the Jedi order instead of rubbing it in with the Rey stuff. We already had to sit through three disappointing cartoonish sequel movies.

To answer before watching the vid.
I always thought a Thrawn cameo would be great.
Thrawn could cameo for an episode or two. He could be the one who uncovers Luthen Rael. Hes deals with historic art etc.
Thrawns looking into things, uncovers the ISB operative, realises that Luthens a rebel ...and then Luthen has to kamikaze himself to save his network etc. Gives luthens character an end, explains why he isnt in R1 etc. Gives Thrawns character some depth and backstory.
Perhaps even have Thrawn try and recruit Luthen the same as he did Nightswann in the novels (obv this depends upon the stories theyre intending to tell in the future - looking at you Chiss defense force / mysterious Grysk).

ooh, I don't need to know everything.
I don't agree that every story matters, neither do we need to know every step of every story and connect it exactly up to the exact point it started or ended before.
I'd be happy to see Krennec going about his business until some previously established characters become an obstacle for him. or vice versa.

What if the opening crawl for the new ray movie says …. Rey Skywalker has vanished!….. then we don’t see her until the last scene of the movie. Oh, but get this during the movie we find out there is a new bad guy that was once a pupil of hers that betrayed her and her new Jedi order! Then in the next movie she is found to have given up on everyone and every thing and just wants to be left alone.

I’ve hoped they would show when the Emperor dissolves the Galactic Senate. I’m imagining a scene like in the TV show Amerika in the 80s where that would be done in a very violent way.

    Hey Thor,
I really wonder how the current star wars fandom will react to the second season of Andor! I really hope it's just as good, if not better than the first season. Hopefully we just see a flood of positivity, rather than all this rage grifting and review bombing we're seeing regarding the Acolyte. The Acolyte so far has just been average at best. I've not hated it at all, and I honestly don't think it's anywhere near as bad as some people are making it out to be. I think it all hangs on how the last 4 episodes turn out.
Much love, from Birmingham, UK. x

Hey my fellow Brummie, I think the fans will actually like Andor Season 2 alot, especially IF its got loads of action, balanced nicely with the solid writing.
I think the fandon has fell into such Apathy since Andor S1, and after this fiasco that's been the Acolyte, fans will be way more open and welcoming to Andor this time.

I guess it makes sense Krenic returning, but id like some EU ones too like Garm Bel Iblis would be cool. Id very much like to see how some of those figures came together. Id guess Rael dies helping Cassian and the others, I can see him utter his last words to Andor - "Rebellions are built in Hope" and thats where Cassian gets that saying from.
5:36 Ugh, sooo not interested in the Rey movie, yehyeh, blah, blah, blah - Rey is the ONLY FEMALE JEDI out there, she's the heart of STAR WARS.
I mean ofcourse! Rey IS going to single-handedly REBUILD a new and Better, successful Jedi Order, one that will be absolutely PERFECT and balanced because i mean, its REY! Why wouldnt she!
Okay ive finished being sarcy, look, the only way to make the character of Rey be relatable to audiendes and Fans at this point, is to make her FLAWED. Atleast make her struggle with being the blood of Palpatine in some way.
If she just is all great, even more powerful and skilled than she was by the end of TROS, if nothing bad happens to her, or yoy never see her stumble or struggle in any way whatsoever, whats interesting about the character?
Its like they wrote her backwards all thanx to them pandering to the metoo movement at the time.

Heres a question? Who gives a crap about Andor? Why are we wasting time on this story? Return of the Jedi happened. The Empire loses, Vader dies, The Emperor dies. We know how, when and where Andor story will ends, yet we're hyped? What's there to be hyped about? Are we gonna get something new and different? No because Andor's story has been done before so nothing should surprise us. When are we gonna get something that's not Rebellion vs Empire? It's like these writers have only seen a New Hope and nothing else matters beside Nostalgia. Shows like this is why Star Wars is boring. Don't ask Questions, just consume product with Star Wars in the Title and get excited for next product.
