Good honest review!. I've just bought an absolute minter, 2001 model, 5,500 miles from new in outstanding nick, I love it. Amazing sounding engine, plenty of poke, great brakes and contrary to most opinions I love the looks!.
I have an 07 fz6 and love it, great commuter bike too and very reliable. Keep your chain lubed, oil, filters etc. and it will last you a long long time. It's still very much quick enough for me and comfortable, I'd say better than average in most categories. And cheap to buy and cheap to insure.
Great video. Just got myself a fazer as my first big bike and I love it. Feels perfect for what I want as I want reasonably quick without the sportsbike seat position. Think I need a lucky mascot though!
Got myself a 2003 model, after 5 yrs off bikes ! Took a while to get used to it,for some reason I didn't!!!. 2 years later ,after 2 different bikes, tried another!?! A 2001 model and we just clicked Now can't get enough of the yam fzs600,.Don't understand why? It just happened! I found it can piss over modern stuff costing 3 or 4 times as much, and it doesn't have abs, traction control,or any of that stuff,I find that bikers view it as a real bike.after all it does have more power, handling and braking than dare I say it,my childhood dream bike ,the z900!!!!??? Feel like kicking myself in the balls for saying that, but it's true!!!
This is my dream bike, and I haven't even done a CBT yet :D Definitely will buy one of these once I have my full license (I will eventually). Just one thing I don't understand - this isn't the only video in which it is mentioned that styling is a con on this bike. Why? I think it looks terrific and not at all old-fashioned or 80s or all that nonsense :)
The problem with the front sprocket nut coming loose wasn't down to it being a 9mm wide nut, it was because at the factory they machined the thread on the gearbox output shaft undersize, way undersize, so there was too little engagement of the threads and so the nut came loose or stripped. They increased the nut to 12mm wide so there was more turns of thread to hopefully stop it stripping as easily. It's an M18x1.0 thread. It should measure 17.8-17.95mm OD, but some were as little as 17.25mm. Always check before buying a Fazer as ppl have even welded the sprocket on the shaft as the threads have stripped. It only affected a small minority but its rife on forums if you search for it.
Very useful review. Bit of a worry about the front sprocket but like the fact it's soft on the bum for a long ride. I am thinking about buying this bike for my first "big" bike since I passed my A test in Jan and a friend also has an old one he is willing to let me borrow to try out (maybe I will have enough persuasion to get him to sell it to me!)
Great video buddy , great bikes , and it is about my 50th bike , had nearly all of them over the last 20 yrs right up to rockets 🚀 Hyabusa and Zx10r , you can still have fun on a fazer cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧, I have a red one that can be seen on my channel thanks
I was looking at getting a Fazer. But when I sure my insurance for a ZX9 was going to be half of what it would have been for the Fazer, I had to go for the ZX9.
I noticed you had a Bridgestone BT 023 on the front, do you find it noisy ? ………I’m getting a weird annoying hollow noise from the front of my Fazer & I’m wondering if it’s the tyre ?……I rode another Fazer that had an Avon tyre on the front & there was no noise at all from the front
Hi there I’m looking at getting a new middle sized bike I’ve not had a motorbike since my CBR 600 in 2000 do you think this would be a good bike to get back on the road with I’m not a complete idiot but haven’t ridden for a while cheers
I've just bought a 2001 Fazer and I think it would be perfect for getting back on the road. Light handling, powerful brakes and you don't HAVE to use all the power. Go for it!
Great "middle weight" motorcycle. Round engine, perfect fueling, confortable, good brakes, just awesome. They don't make them like this anymore 👌
Men i just bought one in perfect shape today..the model from 98. I dont think i’v ever been happier!!!

"it's not super super fast' is 0-60 in 4 seconds not fast enough!? Great video mate I love my Fazer ;)
Very capable bike. I've done 60000 miles on mine. 600cc and it keeps up with 1200 cc bavarian twins no problem at all

They're great aren't they. You still got yours?
Where can I buy a motorbike entirely made out of cork?
do you have other vids with the fazer?

Eh I could do, I ride over a 80 miles a day ... but life's to short to sit down and edit videos ;)
