how i "oil" or "Grease" a door hinge. lubricate and keep the door hinges from squeaking. Fix-its Playlist: • Fix-its Playlist Subscribe: / @littlebitofeverything607
Looking forward to doing this on my bedroom and bathroom door soon! I'm not 100% clear, are you using water to clean the hinge with the Q-tip? Or lubricant?
It's just an old cut water bottle. No water. But he does pool the silicone lubricant inside to dip the qtips. He also uses it to gather runoff. Depending on how dirty your hinges are, you may need to empty the dirty runoff between hinges before you soak the next batch of qtips in it.
Have the door closed, or you might have to adjust the door up with your foot. Also depends on the hinge. Some have safety features that keep them from coming apart.
What is WD-40 used for then? I have used WD-40 on hinges and found it to be quite successful. But believe it or not, my cleaning lady's use it on my stainless steel. I would prefer lemon oil on my stainless steel, but it doesn't appear to be worth purchasing if I cannot use it on door hinges or other things. Would lemon oil work as a lubricant on door hinges?
Really surprised by how few good tutorials there are for this out there. Thank you so much!
Happy to help

Great video.
Thanks
Good job.
Worked perfectly! Thanks so much!
Happy to help. What did you end up using to clean the residue off with?
I used the lubricant that I sprayed down the pin with! I figured that might have been what you meant after watching it again a few times
Thank you!
You're welcome
Awesome, simple video. Thanks a bunch!

Hey Man, Congratulations. You show how it must be done. I don't understand how you have just a few views.
I appreciate that!
I use cooking oil in a spray bottle to lubricate hinges. A little goes a long way for a long time
Would definitely have to try it out next time!

Couldn't drive out the pin with a hammer. Any tips?
