Congratulations on your promotion Benjammin, I thought Ipswich would finish highest of the promoted teams, but I thought they would be around 10th. So pleased for Loungo, he never stayed fit long enough for us, but we all knew there was a top player there. Over the moon for my own team Wednesday, we were dead and buried, bottom of the league with 3 points from 11 games when Rohl came in, Danny had a slow start and after 18 games we had 7 points. The turning point for me was the injury time equaliser against Leicester, we started picking up after that. There was still some horror performances against Southampton, Sunderland, Ipswich, Huddersfield and Middlesborough to name just 5, but what a finish to the season, Danny said we would win the last 3 and we did. Just need our lunatic chairman to back Danny now.
We (ITFC fans) have really taken to Rohl and I personally think he can be your own McKenna. I remember between December and February when there was a lot of outside noise about teams wanting KMcK, there was a growing swell of people wanting Danny to be Kieran's successor. If you keep him and DC does the right thing and back him (or the actual right thing and sell up) then I think you'll be dark horses next season.

Such a great league. Which is why predicting it is a challenge. Great coverage of it mate, really enjoy the videos. When we (Villa) we’re down finishing mid-table championship it was a fall from Grace but I couldn’t help but get the same excitement each week. Look forward to seeing the same from you next season and a away trip to Portman Road 👍
There was a period this season where I was feeling a little sour seeing Ipswich do so well and Wednesday so poorly after being neck and neck last season but I’ve come to my senses and so pleased for you! Hope you keep the EFL content up next season even thought you’re no longer with us!
Top three managers of the season for me are McKenna, Röhl and Cifuentes. All three achieved the impossible. I suppose Rooney also achieved the impossible albeit in the other direction!
Spot on. How all three achieved what they did is phenomenal. And for Rohl and Cifuentes they had to overcome a real downward trend in momentum and players whose confidence was through the floor. Really impressive and all three managers humble and reflective guys. When you think of all the repeat failure managers with big egos who kept getting jobs like Steve Bruce, Harry Redknapp and Mark Hughes, it's a refreshing change.
I am not a Birmingham fan, but to be fair they are very unlucky to get relegated on 50 points. I imagine they will get promoted straight back up again next season.
@jeffthomas3707 the people who employed Rooney was at fault. Rooney was out of his depth. We had the same at Plymouth with Foster. Hope you come right back up as champions 🏆.
Fair do's Ben some shrewd picks. Can't remember my exact picks but know I had Norwich in 2nd and Blackburn and Stoke going down with Rovrum, so some absolute shockers from me. Can't help but feel next year may be the hardest Champ to predict ever especially if one of Leeds/Saints go up and Luton and Burnley join the Blades
Congrats Ben on Ipswich promotion,as a baggies fan I was impressed with your position prediction on us there... quite close😂 lol to be fair I had us down for bottom half as well but footballs a funny old game, gutted for Blues hope they bounce back.
Have thoroughly enjoyed watching your content this year Ben, its been a brilliant season. Very happy for you and Ipswich, and delighted that Argyle have stayed in the championship, especially as it means more championship check in!
@@bennwardhaugh3013 Can’t lie it hurt big time. Losing Finn Azaz did the real damage but that was out of our hands when Villa recalled him and sold him to Middlesborough. Great player with a future in the Prem. Woukd be a good signing for you guys. Fancy boosting your squad with Whittaker, he hasn’t got his boots dirty since Christmas
@@steviebgooder Yeah, that was a big kick in the gut for you guys when Finn got recalled, quality player. Now, when it comes to Whittaker I honestly think that bird has flown. The talent is undeniable but there does seem to be a question of attitude and that would not sit well with Kieran in the slightest.
Baggy here. I'd have agreed with you at the start of the season; we'd be lucky to stay up, let alone get into the playoffs. Can't see us going up this season, but if we can hang on to Corberan, and with Patel being more of a proper owner than Lai, maybe next.....
One of the reasons I am gutted to be down in L1 (BCFC fan) is that we won’t be involved in this channel! I’m sure i’ll still watch but will just depress me. Great news for Ipswich and congratulations! Grew up seeing Ipswich as a big club so nice to see them back in the EPL.
Absolute travesty that you went down, the Eustace firing/Rooney hiring felt horribly similar to what ITFC did when Marcus Evans took over the club by firing Jim Magilton and hiring... Roy Keane... Here's hoping you come straight back up.
Unfortunately league 1 is like quick sand once in it’s hard to get out straight away Took ipswich four years of playing against clubs who - 4:27 fall over to waste time and linos and refs who are not good enough to ref a Sunday league Good luck
@@Dronesteve-72 Yep, I have no doubts about that but we haven't gone down in financial turmoil. Our revenue was apparently the top of the Championship (last season) outside of the three teams who had parachute payments so we have good resources to build a solid L1 side. So i'm not saying we will fly back up with ease but I feel like we have a 'better' chance of doing so than other big teams who it has happenned to. Not looking forwards to the officiating though, it's bad enough in the Championship, let alone L1.
As a Millwall fan, 'hitting the break glass in emergency button' is a fantastic way of putting it. Living in Norfolk as I do, I can assure you that most people I know in the good old yellow and green admit Ipswich deserved it.
Hi Ben. Have really enjoyed your vlogs throughout the season. Thank you to both you and Sam. Can't agree more, what a wild season it has been. Drama right up to the final whistle, and as an Owl I'd like to say Vielen dank fur alles to Danny Rohl.
Well done to Ipswich great performance from them. From my pov being an Owl I thought we was dead and buried Well done Wednesday. Keep up these great videos Ben UTO 🦉🦉
Another Cov fan here, congratulations to Ipswich first and foremost, best fans to visit the CBS this season (followed by QPR, last game of the season, packed the stand out and was singing for most of the game to be fair to them). We were all told it was a season of transition this year and like you said, just took too long to gel. If we can keep our best players this season we can really push on for next. The cup run just took too much out of them in the league and the last 10 games it really showed.
Do you think the FA Cup was a distraction? You must have been knackered with all those extra games. They've proven that if you play away in the third match of a three match week, you're much more likely to lose.
QPR fans have been unexpectedly brilliant this season, even when we were terrible. We've had one of our best attendance records despite losing so many home games early on and the away support has been terrific. Good luck to Coventry next season, I can see you in the play off mix if you keep your manager and best players.
@@SKSK-rz7br To be fair to Ipswich, that game was pretty much auto's for them, if I was them I'd have been singing so loud I couldn't talk for a week (much like wembley for cov when that 'goal' went in).
@@nicksyb5920 I was surprised at how loud QPR were on the final day. I know it's the final day and it was pretty much a dead game, but still it looked like a good time in the away end. I know what it's like to lose so many at home and not have the greatest of seasons so well done to all the fans for supporting home and away (Cov tend to do the same, when we were groundsharing, we'd still take our full allocation away). Also well done on the 4-0 against Leeds and then beating us, nice way to end the season on a high for you guys. I do think it was a distraction. Don't get me wrong, the Wolves game where we came back in injury time (especially when the ballboy was playing antics and we scored from that) was a highlight I'll never forget, along with the 'goal' that wasn't, but the players were phyiscally and mentally shot after that, we couldn't get a win for love nor money after the Wembley trip. Our home form over the season has been pretty rubbish though, too many draws so we were never really going to challenge, this has been a transitional season and we're going to lose O'Hare (he was brilliant for about two months until he clearly decided he was off and has been on the bench for the most part ever since), but if we can keep most of the rest, now they are bedded in it could be a good season. We really need to improve in some areas though (goalkeeper for instance) but I'm already excited. Fingers crossed for next season for you guys, looks a little too close to a relegation fight this year with the final points standing so hopefully you can push on up the table!
Good luck to Town in the premier league they will need it with all the major VAR decisions going against them . Always enjoyed this unbiased channel from a Canary fan .
Really enjoyed your podcast this year Ben, I'll still be tuning in next season despite us being in League One. Hopefully we feature again next season! #bcfc
We didn't expect to reach the semi final of the FA Cup, that explains us finishing 23rd in the last 8 table, we were running on empty last 6 weeks, I'm predicting top 4 for us next season
My prediction was very similar to yours Ben, so I also got Leicester, Leeds and Southampton spot on, but none else. I had Ipswich finishing 5th. Worst predtictions were Sunderland and Birmingham who both finished nine places worse.
Congratulations to your lot, Ben. Hopefully, my lot (Wednesday) can keep some momentum going into next season, unlike the capitulation that preceded this one...
Ha, I think I remember praising you in the comments at the start of the season for being one of the only YT-ers to foresee an imminent collapse at Albion. I too have egg on my face. Apologies to the Baggies, great job from them!
Despite this being my 60th season watching it, I obviously still know nothing about the game. I had Birmingham for automatic promotion and Argyle finishing 10th. In the end we feel massively relieved not to be straight back down where we came from. I was really enjoying being in the Championship until the rat Schumacher left and our team was gutted. Since then its been a miserable, joyless slog. I hope next year is more fun. Finally, I'm thrilled for Ipswich. I hope they can settle in the Prem and have at least a few good years. Off to Germany this summer and then back at it in August. COYG!
@@bennwardhaugh3013 Very good of you. I think all supporters apart from some in Stoke would agree. The gods of football will find him out in the end though. Enjoy next season, many of us will be following your progress and hoping you can stay up.
@@AndrewPawley11 That's very true, karma always seems to find a way. Honestly, after the last 22 years and certainly after suffering through the Marcus Evans years, I don't think it's possible not to enjoy next season. It's going to be one hell of a ride. Good luck yourselves, it's just great that we can make Mariner proud with our current teams.
Congratulations lad. Enjoy your time in the Prem for all it's worth cuz you never know how long it will last. Hopefully my team Stoke will be in a better position next time round. Things are looking better under Schumacher so onwards and upwards. Anyway well done again and maybe we'll see you in the Prem after next season. (I'm dreaming of course) 😆
💚⚽️💚As an Argyle fan meaning no menace, a couple of questions. How long do you think he’ll last if your only mid table? We were surprised and disappointed when he left us for you and unaware that it was such a poison chalice. Have you see an upturn In performance?
@@steviebgooderthe problem he had was that none of the players were his and at first he struggled to find a best 11 so he kept switching the team around. Towards the end of the season he actually managed to get them playing quite well. Hopefully we'll have better recruitment next time around. We have already got rid of some the day after the last match. We have owners worth around 10 billion but they haven't spent wisely. Hopefully that will change with the new staff and then there's no reason we can't be at the other end of the table. I'm glad you stayed up, I'm not a fan of poaching managers but this is football and they will always go where the money is. Anyway good luck next season.
It's been great watching your videos this season Ben. Now we're back in the premier league I kind of will miss this but will pop in now and then. I'm not looking forward to having VAR again next season it's been so refreshing without it. lcfc
Who would have predicted Ipswich coming 2nd? Fantastic and well done. As for predictions how does 5000/1 grab you? That was bizarre and I just loved it.
Congratulations 👏 Well deserved and a great story 👍 Please keep doing the Championship content though next season 🙏 regardless of wether we (Leeds) go up or not, its still the best league in the world
Calgary calling Ben, congrats to you and Ipswich...brilliant season from you. I hope your board backs McKenna and can we have Leif Davis back? lol. Your attacking play will be a joy to watch but you may have to play on the counter with the big boys? Don't forget the Championship where we are likely stuck again! What odds on your neighbours Norwich to sink Farke? Will Ferrell has just invested in Leeds...the way we are playing...new coach: ;) MOT. Good luck Tractor Boys, you richly deserve it!
No you can't have Leif back! 🤣 Honestly the top 4 teams should all be proud of their seasons as that kind of performance normally gets you promoted, we just ended up doing it at the same time! I can see us playing quite a bit of counter football next season but this season showed that we're able to mix our game up. Also, with all the sanctions that some teams will get it means this might be our best chance to stay up and try and solidify our position. You can be assured that Suffolk will definitely be backing you against the Budgies and as long as you hold your ground at Carrot Road then I feel pretty safe in saying that you'll make the final. Summerville, Rutter and company are just too good imo.
Great stuff Ben. It’s definitely harder than it looks, so well done on getting 6 teams correct or only 1 place out. Only other bonus for me as Town fan is that one of Leeds or Norwich going to be sour mid next week. I say that as plenty of those fans shouted all season that Ipswich would falter and was in a false position to be in the top four since September. Going to enjoy watching those two play off games from a position of being promoted already..
How much do we owe Paul Cook for his transfer recruitment? Sam Morsy a natural leader and inspirational captain. Christian Walton, Vaclav Hladky, Cameron Burgess and George Edmundson, Conor Chaplin and Wes Burns.
Rightfully or wrongfully, he truly deserved the name "Demolition Man". For what it's worth, he always did seem to know what kind of character he needed to bring in so for the names you've mentioned I'll always be grateful.
My say is I really enjoyed watching Ipswitch this season and I'm really happy for you, I think McKenna will change his tactics up next season as you saw what happened against Leeds when playing like that and that's most of the Prem so he will have to change, though I suspect he knows that.
Millwall Man here. Fair doo’s with your predictions more towards right than not with many. And a thanks for your channel & it helps me be a bit more in love with football in this mental league. Good luck to Ipswich next season! And how the f### have Birmingham City finished relegated??!! Almost as much a suprise as Ipswich going straight up. I think you will actually do okies & suprise a few sides next season. 🦁👍🏻
Owls fan here mate. Congrats on your promo but do that mean we seen the last of you with Sam. Wouldnt blame you if it was but I have enjoyed your coverage and sad to see you go if that is the case. Good luck in the Prem.
Great effort by Ipswich,Wednesday and argle and congratulations to Ipswich on promotion to the Premier league 👏. Just glad this season is over now and hopefully chumpceri will back Danny 😊😊
💚⚽️💚What I did notice this year for the first time in my life was the gulf between Div. 1 and the Championship which makes Ipswich’s success even more astounding. In a lot of cases just one opposing player would be worth more than our whole squad. Those parachute payments are far too high to be able to compete. Credit to PAFC and SWFC for hanging in there this year. (Tongue in cheek - if you Tractor Boys finishing 2nd again next year, you’ll be in The Champions League😂😂). Seriously well done though. Will be watching with interest.💚⚽️💚
@@steviebgooder failure payments have been the problem for years now because instead of clubs using them for the purposes that they were designed for, clubs just spend it on yet more players to get straight back up. Clubs like Wednesday who have tried to compete with them have fallen foul of the rules whilst they have gotten away with it because of the failure payments. So like you say, its even more impressive what Ipswich have done ✔️
@@andrewcoxhead6451 Funnily enough they were introduced after we went into administration following the ITV collapse and relegation from the Prem in '02... Initially I could understand them but they've completely spiralled out of control.
@@bennwardhaugh3013 if my memory serves me well I think they were introduced in the 2000/01 ,the season after Wednesday were relegated from the Premier league...typical of our luck 😀
Congratulations on your promotion you and the rest of the Ipswich fans must be buzzing. Good call on getting your predictions correct with Leicester, Leeds & Southampton, i would have gone Leicester, Southampton & Leeds mid table before a ball was kicked based on the mess at Elland Road after our relegation with too many things going on to mention on here. I am surprised at Southampton finishing 4th, i fully expected them to get at least 2nd as they were quicker to act on their impending relegation last season, maybe the play offs might work for them. Always a good watch Benjamin i wonder if you will stay in tuned to the championship now your boys are in the big league?
As a Millwall supporter, I always thought 7th was optimistic, but I still felt we'd be comfortably 10th-12th, wasn't far off where I thought we'd be but took the scenic route!
This has always been a tough league to predict. Small variants can make a massive difference. Personally I like the way some teams get promoted into the championship and then make a fantastic effort. Congratulations to Ipswich on really excelling and showing some serious talent on the pitch. But it’s the poor decisions that have the biggest impact and some clubs appear to be better at making those mistakes. But hats off to the clubs who made positive changes that worked. The bottom half of the league has been epic this season and I doubt we’ll ever see another season like it. ………or will we? Great content again Benjamin. Well done 👏
Impressed by Ipswich who were always going to do OK. I had them top six. They just needed strengthening in the striker department which they achieved by getting Hirst, Kieffer Moore and Hutchinson. The defence is a bit suspect which they need to address otherwise they will suffer in the Premier League.
Ben congrats on your promotion and producing a great channel .. Long may it continue (hopefully) .. Based on what we know as in whats currently in the division, who are your picks for lets say top 6 or thereabouts - (hypothetical-yes), as in teams will be different, up and down)

If you take the 50 points won by Danny Rohl in just 35 games that would have acquainted to 66.7 points over a 46 game season and Wednesday would’ve finished in ninth above Coventry
You should do a video taking Managerial changes. Wednesday, QPR and Millwall probably top in that order, with Wednesday number one because of how woeful they were under Munez Birmingham (first change) and possibly Sunderland bottom, Birmingham went from playoffs to relegation, I think Sunderland were already dropping, but the change certainly didn’t do them any good.
Though now I think on it, although Munez was appointed well before the start of the season, he was new, so Wednesday probably have the best and the worst managerial change.
QPR and Wednesday would have been down without inspired managerial changes. Middlesbrough and Coventry had their best players taken from them and it took half a season to get going. The FA cup was a major distraction for Coventry and maybe the League cup for Middlesbrough.
💚⚽️💚An uninspired managerial change nearly took us down😂😂😂. But in the end our captain Joe Edwards was the inspiration we needed to survive. Our unsung hero.💚⚽️💚
@steviebgooder I was really happy for you to survive. Hopefully, you will bring in the right manager and become an established Championship club. Clearly there is a lot of fight in the team considering you won the league last season and managed to get crucial wins against top sides when it really counted.
Cheers Charlie, We like to think we bring something to the league both on and off the pitch. Our fans have had the thumbs up from 90% of home teams. Going to be just as tough next year on our budget so a good manager is crucial. I have no idea who that might be. Just hope he’s not a Scouser😂😂
@steviebgooder The only match I managed to get to this season was against Plymouth at home. We didn't play that well and you gave us a scare. We still won because we made an art of getting results while not being at our best. I definitely felt like you were too good for a relegation battle. Perhaps you were the opposite of us in that you'd play well, but come away with a bad result fairly often.
just posted mine ben, did it in tier list form on mine, autos, playoffs, rest of top half, bottom half not relegated, and relegated, an interesting yet horrible experience LMAO

When you think of all the repeat failure managers with big egos who kept getting jobs like Steve Bruce, Harry Redknapp and Mark Hughes, it's a refreshing change.
Throw Corberan and Rosenior in there and that's your top 5.
@@nicksyb5920 Then there's Lambert, McCarthy etc to add to that too. Young blood is exactly what the game needs.
I am not a Birmingham fan, but to be fair they are very unlucky to get relegated on 50 points. I imagine they will get promoted straight back up again next season.
Reason for relegation.... Rooney!!
No team from Birmingham should be in League 1, the potato did far more damage than even I could have seen.
Absolutely brilliant channel Ben.
Villa fan here ,pleased to see Ipswich back in the premier league.Brings back memories of the early 80s. Hope you stay up.
Ben loved watching your videos all season well done Ipswich from a Plymouth fan
Have thoroughly enjoyed watching your content this year Ben, its been a brilliant season. Very happy for you and Ipswich, and delighted that Argyle have stayed in the championship, especially as it means more championship check in!
Glad we survived! I didn't write mine down, but I remember being pretty confident about Birmingham making the playoffs...
😬 I said Cardiff would be relegated, Stoke and Blackburn would both get playoffs and West Brom would finish 16th
As an Ipswich fan, what Schumacher did to you guys made me angry. Very happy you stayed up.
@@Jesusesbathwater I'm pretty sure most people would have thought that about Stoke and Cardiff so you're not alone!

Can’t lie it hurt big time.
As a Leeds fan I congratulate you on promotion. What a great story. Love the content Ben. See you next season in the Premier league. Love from France
Unfortunately league 1 is like quick sand once in it’s hard to get out straight away
Took ipswich four years of playing against clubs who - 4:27 fall over to waste time and linos and refs who are not good enough to ref a Sunday league
Good luck
We are staying up! 🦉
Great Championship coverage this season..Hopefully you'll keep it up despite your boys getting promoted! Congratulations from your Wednesday friends!
Ipswich sang louder than us - that's disappointing .. We need more singing lessons ... 😄
#bcfc
Now Ipswich have gone up Ben what are your intentions for the channel? Love your work mate 👍🏼
Well done Ipswich. Very well done. Good for football. Gives The Wednesday something to think about under Mr Chancer!
We didn't expect to reach the semi final of the FA Cup, that explains us finishing 23rd in the last 8 table, we were running on empty last 6 weeks, I'm predicting top 4 for us next season
You've got a damn good shot at that too, had absolutely no right to play as well as you did on Tuesday against us given how crazy your fixtures were!
So glad you got Albion wrong but your reasons were valid.
But us Baggies in Carlos we trust
I'm pretty sure all of Suffolk are behind your boys for the next couple of weeks!
Ben, will you still cover the championship next year when ipswich are in the prem?
Well done Ben it's harder than it looks I'm gonna try it next season hope I do as well as you good luck to ipswich next season
Heyup Ben, another great vid. Looking forward to your play-offs prediction vid.
COYG!
...Paul Mariner will be smiling for both Argyle & Ipswich Andrew......Well done Tractor Boys ....COYG
From an Ipswich fan, it was fking awful seeing Schumacher do that to you guys and I'm very happy you stayed up.
@@AlanClarke-cn8pf Damn it, did you start cutting onions or something? 😅

Who would have predicted Ipswich coming 2nd? Fantastic and well done. As for predictions how does 5000/1 grab you? That was bizarre and I just loved it.
Congratulations 👏 Well deserved and a great story 👍
Please keep doing the Championship content though next season 🙏 regardless of wether we (Leeds) go up or not, its still the best league in the world
Brummies board can hold dat , prime example how you dont run FC , hire Wayne Rooney again
I did say at the time that it had horrible Roy Keane vibes from my club (Ipswich), I just didn't realise he'd do that much damage!
Honestly the top 4 teams should all be proud of their seasons as that kind of performance normally gets you promoted, we just ended up doing it at the same time!
Some people were claiming all season that Ipswich would "get found out". Well, we weren't.
Well done Ben and Ipswich. Season not quite done. Hoping Leeds can join you via the playoffs. 🤞
Wagner did say he was gonna get us out of the league...but down to league one wasn't what I expected

Almost as much a suprise as Ipswich going straight up.
I think you will actually do okies & suprise a few sides next season. 🦁👍🏻

Great effort by Ipswich,Wednesday and argle and congratulations to Ipswich on promotion to the Premier league 👏. Just glad this season is over now and hopefully chumpceri will back Danny 😊😊
Or better yet, sell up. You deserve so much better from your owner (from an Ipswich fan that sees a lot of similarities in our clubs).
Another great season Ben. Love your work. At least your bogie team Stoke you got right this year
Congratulations on your promotion you and the rest of the Ipswich fans must be buzzing.
Great job. Congrats. !
Millwall would of potentially been challenging playoffs if it wasn’t for a bad Joe Edwards appointment..
💯we would give any of the playoff teams a good go on current form gutted finished brilliantly 👍🦁🦁
Next season should be better for Boro. UTB good luck everyone...

Well done 👏
You’ve definitely done better than the Irish Guy!!! His reaction video is going to be hilarious 😂
Hi Benjamin Leeds fan here congratulations on your promotion to the premier league well deserved
Impressed by Ipswich who were always going to do OK. I had them top six. They just needed strengthening in the striker department which they achieved by getting Hirst, Kieffer Moore and Hutchinson. The defence is a bit suspect which they need to address otherwise they will suffer in the Premier League.
You must have really looked forward to having Ipswich back in the championship. Shame it only lasted one season. 😂
I can assure you, we certainly weren't expecting it to be this brief!
Ben congrats on your promotion and producing a great channel .. Long may it continue (hopefully) .. Based on what we know as in whats currently in the division, who are your picks for lets say top 6 or thereabouts - (hypothetical-yes), as in teams will be different, up and down)

Some good predictions to be fair. Will you be covering more of the prem next season now Ben?
The "jack in the box" in the Championship this season, had to be the tractor boys 💙
If you take the 50 points won by Danny Rohl in just 35 games that would have acquainted to 66.7 points over a 46 game season and Wednesday would’ve finished in ninth above Coventry
You should win next season
You should do a video taking Managerial changes.
Wednesday, QPR and Millwall probably top in that order, with Wednesday number one because of how woeful they were under Munez
Birmingham (first change) and possibly Sunderland bottom, Birmingham went from playoffs to relegation, I think Sunderland were already dropping, but the change certainly didn’t do them any good.
Cheers Charlie,
We like to think we bring something to the league both on and off the pitch.
