@VCGConstruction awesome video! My grandfather of 88 years (who you might not believe it or not but I’ll show videos) is still doing trim carpentry and flooring always carried his skilsaw Circular saw, a plumb 16 oz hammer, a dewalt 12” miter saw. No matter what the job whether he was stretching carpet and laying it or repairing flooring he always carried those things. AND in true Vince fashion he believed skilsaw was the only circular saw. He bought Makitas newest Circular saw and he loves that, he says skilsaw is too heavy for him now. Lol. Love the videos Vince! Glad to be a part of this community.

Agreed completely. People love to pay a guy with a pressure washer. Gonna actually start up a small operation here soon doing it around town for some extra money.
For me there were 3 tools that standalone made me money , the chainsaw , the Impact wrench/driver, and the angle grinder ( which I have used as a sander polisher and even attached circular saw blades to to do things in a pinch ) and I have since found sawzalls and hammer drills to be very useful moneymakers on their own , however the one thing that's made me the most money is my truck
Guy I used to work for put circular saw blade on a grinder to cut a jamb "in a pinch" as we didn't have the jamb saw or multitool with us. It kicked on him, went into forearm and then dropped it on is leg. One of worst things I've ever seen.

One thing about the pressure washer from dewault is i've heard alot of people having issues with the pumps/outlets of them and alot of negative reviews. however it could have been just a specific model that i was reading on. But i agree with you, pressure washers are something you can make money off of with that unit alone. just needs to be reliable as possible especially if you're pressure washing alot.

Great list vince. I started my business in Miami with a pressure washer and later became a General Contractor. So I completely agree that you can start with so very little and make it. Later I was badly injured, and lost it all, but its doable with a pressure washer. I made thousands per week using only the pressure washer. Slowly I took job after job in addition to pressure washing, and built up slowly. So I could not agree more
I have the brushless 1/4 impact, router, jigsaw, and some minor stuff like speed square, ratcheting driver and a bunch of bit sets. DeWalt is absolutely incredible, really want that jobsite table saw.
I'm a big fan of DeWalt tools . For years I have been buying DeWalt tools. I a Porter Cable 7 1/4 circular saw corded . a Milwaukee 1/2 hammer drill quick lock cord. I do look quick lock cords.
@verycoolgang “time is money” tried & true. The other one I heard a lot growing up around residential construction was “you’ve got a dime holding up a dollar”. Sometimes we spend so much time hemming and hawing over what might be a 5-10% difference in price or performance that those hours spent could have made you more $. What’s great now days is we don’t just have to rely on word of mouth and have people such as yourself that have done the research, done the real world testing and provide us with that info. Although, it’s still easy to go down the rabbit hole and spend weeks watching videos so best advice for all find 1-3 reviewers that you like on TH-cam or similar and go with anything in their top 3 picks. Thank You for what you do.
i use a saw stop jobsite saw, a high end cabinet saw, and i own a delta shop saw. I have used that dewalt table saw for about 40 hrs over a month and was very impressed on the accuracy and ease of use. it may take a little tuning to get it cutting right, but thats all saws. the only thing i would worry about is tossing it around with that adjustment rail and the saw loosing zero or breaking.
Drill number 1 Sawzall number 2 Circular saw number 3 Hammerdrill/chipping hammer number 4 The multi tool number 5 (though I’ve never owned one, but it does seem kinda handy. Especially stuff like flooring and sanding.)
I agree with your list only thing I would have changed was the kit with the hammerhead drill and the impact. You get more bang for your buck on it! I agree with everything though!

My top dog is the DW multi-tool.. Couldn’t afford the DW779 so I bought the 713 to start.. Saving for the pressure washer and table saw now.. Which should I buy first? Man I love tools..
I disagree with what beginners need. Of course the pressure washer makes a good point but it's a niche tool. Here is my list of must need 1 impact driver 2 hammer drill 3 circular saw 4 recip saw 5 oscillating multi tool Of course there is many more like miter and table saw but my list includes most of what you can get away with and do almost any job with creativity. I would highly recommend only getting brushless tool lineup but if you can afford the 60v tools the better. For the miter, if you want great get the flexvolt. Not only will you get the tool with a cord adapter, but also a dual charger and flexvolt batteries and the ability to cut anywhere. You can't always get power.
I'm a contractor and I agree with your list that is exactly what a beginner should have. The miter saw and table saw is what they would purchase after gaining a little knowledge but not a requirement for a beginner
My impact driver and cordless saws are my main go to’s ..... I hardly use any corded tools these days and the ones I do use at job sites I power with my small Honda Generator
@VCG CONSTRUCTION Not a bad list at all VINCE .. never really thought of the pressure washer in that aspect definitely got my wheels turning since I have all the other tools ×10 my only ryobi tool is my corder pressure washer say I need to climb under a house I might hit with pressure washer the day before but I can walk down the street with it I must say that
Right! So you gave the example of pressure washing a deck for $100 or the driveway but how would one go about a house? Does it need to be measure or depending on how many floors it has? How would you know how much to charge?
Hey Vince, the oscillating tool you showed first, the $238 special, was the XR version. The $99 was for the Atomic version. Last June, I picked up the XR version with a 3 amp hour battery and charger for $125. (It would have been $140 without my discount.) That was from the big blue hardware store. Just something to pass along because knowledge is power!!! Thanks, Vince, I love your videos!!!
Well done Vince for explaining about the top 5 Must buys, what choices (from each tool and cost differences to being a "self" contractor, how time is a factor getting tools on the job to loading it back home etc.....) , how the "Pressure Washer" tool only can make you tons of cash doing multiple usr of it making money (my favorite go to tool when needing to maake cash asap),. As always Vince, awesome job on this topic and video. Thx, for your knowledge, your Hard work making these videos and Dedication. I have learned so much from many of them. God Bless my Brother...Jeff
@VCGConstruction I think you nailed it with the pressure washer! That is the one tool on the list that you can literally make money with one single tool! Keep up the good work and good deals. Still waiting for a deal on the DeWalt flexvolt worm drive style circular saw. But I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and pay the full price 🤢😂!
Love the video just wish he had mentioned you can upgrade your dws779 at anytime and add what I believe the only big difference is between the 779 and the 780 that XPS system led light for around 60-70$ bucks. Ps don’t forget to smash the like!
Can you do a video on the best independent or universal folding miter saw table as well as table saw table? Bosch, Dewalt, Others? Would they work with the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 12” Miter Saw or the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Table Saw? Thanks!
New DeWalt 8 1/4 can rip 4 x 8s with the full 25 inch rip now vs the old 20. Do you still recommendation the 10" version? How often are you ripping anything larger than a 4 x 8 or thicker than 8 1/4 can handle? It's cheaper and more portable but don't want to replace it down the line because I'm limited. Thanks!
I enjoy the Milwaukee pack outs due to that feature you spoke of. I’m disabled and cannot be scrambling on my knees to repack my supplies. And Dewalt is too bulky for me to move and or carry afound
You sold me on the pressure washer I'm definitely buying one, next purchase... I own several Dewalt power tools but did not knkw they sold a pressure washer
I know it's a DeWalt list but that Porter Cable "pancake" air compressor that comes with 3 nail guns has served me well in my first year of being a self employed cabinet installer/remodeler. I was nailing trim with finish nails and a nail set before that. If you're going to get the miter saw and the table saw, you need a compressor and finish nail guns. I know it's just a Porter Cable, but like I said, I've only been in business for myself for a year.
Great compressor for 100 bucks but the guns suck! My new go to trim gun is the Milwaukee 18 gauge with the DeWalt battery adapter since my platform is all DeWalt. Now it's dewaukee
@@michaeldepow6663 What were they doing to you? I've heard that those guns suck from a couple people, but they've worked well for me. I only had trouble when I first got the set, I had some nails laying out and I got the 16 brads and the 18 finish nails mixed up. Took me 10 minutes to figure out what was wrong but no jams ever since. I think they're a little unforgiving, can't let them bounce on recoil, but they've done well for the last year. Getting compliments on my crown molding and everything. Might just be that I don't know what I'm missing.
My Fein makes a lot of noise, I paid 400 for it with accessories. The dewalt is quite as a mouse. The hammer drill is ok but I dont use it much. Good for drilling stucco, not 40 year old concrete. The cordless table saw is fantastic when all you need is a few accurate cuts, you can leave it the back of your truck and use it there.
Missed impact. I'm well experienced. Own them all, upgraded everything except table saw. Old 744 here. About to upgrade. Which one did you show first? 745?
Hard to say,but so many of my tools have paid for themselves over and over again. Two things come to mind and they are air nailers and airless paint sprayers. And my initial thinking was,I will never hammer or brush again!
As a diy prosumer the impact driver and dewalt shop vac are my two most used items. I don’t even use my drill for anything any more I’ve just bought all the impact ready bits. The one thing that’s not a tool that helped out when I first bought a dewalt tool kit was the freaking tool bag. No more loose screws and nails putting stuff together in the kids rooms.
Can you do something on the DeWalt propress I do HVAC install and I want to see it in action I've used the Ridgid for years but I'm DeWalt guy just don't know if I can trust it
I have all of these tools except the multitool, not all DeWalt, but most. I am considering buying the multitool because of its versatility. My table saw is a Delta X5, so not portable, but I'm not a contractor either. I'm a home owner/hobbyist. I build a lot of cabinets and have built most of the furniture and fixtures for our church and my home. I bought a lot of my shop tools before I built my house, about $5000 worth, but they have paid for themselves over and over many times. I just recently bought a new DeWalt DWS779 for $399 to replace my old worn out (but still working) 10" Delta chop saw. The DWS779 is amazing, however, you show the DWS780 in your video. The DWS779 does not have the XPS lighting system on it. No problem, I found a conversion kit online to add it to the 779. It cost me about $80. This gives me the superiority of the 779 (compare them) with the advantage of the XPS system for over $100 less than the 780! I agree with the others that my #1 tool is my impact driver. I use it all the time, especially when I'm working on my car or engine projects. I constantly look for sales on batteries, because I like to have several charged and waiting.
I bought some fake batteries off market place that say XR in the pic. They come in black btw 😂 so far I've used them daily and they seem to out perform my DeWalt batteries. 2 6ah 20v for 80.00. 11 months of daily use and still kicking ass
Impact driver. Hands down. Use it on almost everything I do
The one tool I can’t live without is my impact driver!! Even more then my hammer drill!!
Have used mine for cabinetry, light fixtures, automotive, snow blower, on and on. Plus their bit sets are 👍
Amen brotha! I used it to secure a ford fitting outside
Yup same
I disagree you can always make your hammer drill into a impact but not the other way around

This man is brilliant you need to listen to him I like him I've been in the industry for 37 years he knows what he's talking about
I got the dewalt miter saw 799 for $350 this last holiday season. Definitely my favorite purchase.
Keep up the great advice VCG👍
Right on Redline 1776!
Do i leave my school bus driver job and go back ? miss being a Finish Carpenter...
Yes.
Do both! You're only driving 4 hours a day.

@@galvanizedgnome what does coding have to do with finish carpentry?
Wait for lumber to go back down
We started with a drill a saw and basic hand tool and knowledge. Still remember putting base molding with a hammer and finishing nails.
So I could not agree more
I agree with you. I think your right. I guessed most all 5 correctly. Handy man here.
I have the brushless 1/4 impact, router, jigsaw, and some minor stuff like speed square, ratcheting driver and a bunch of bit sets. DeWalt is absolutely incredible, really want that jobsite table saw.
Efficiency is a must and that covers a broad spectrum organization is key!!!
Thanks for this video.
Lots of good stuff.
And thanks for making the saw decision understandable.
I have 3 of the top 5 listed but I use My Dewalt 887 impact driver more then any other tool !
Drill number 1
Sawzall number 2
Circular saw number 3
Hammerdrill/chipping hammer number 4
The multi tool number 5 (though I’ve never owned one, but it does seem kinda handy. Especially stuff like flooring and sanding.)
Learned from my passed employers to buy the table saw with the rolling stand, save your back you only got one!
I always appreciate your insight on the industry
Pretty darn good list I'm gonna grab em all except the miter saw cuz I like the bosch 12"
I agree with your list only thing I would have changed was the kit with the hammerhead drill and the impact. You get more bang for your buck on it! I agree with everything though!
Which table saw would you recommend for the DYIer? BTW, love your channel. Rock on! Thank you.

My top dog is the DW multi-tool.. Couldn’t afford the DW779 so I bought the 713 to start.. Saving for the pressure washer and table saw now.. Which should I buy first? Man I love tools..
Love you brother! Well Done. This is something everyone needs to see.
Thank you Ronnie mac!
Absolutely useful powertools... #2 is my dream... Wish I could have it, thank you very much Vince 🙏🏼😁
Now I know where my friend got the idea with the pressure washer bussiness.
Nice video.
A top tools to have for the homeowner/diyer? So many we have for our work but what should buy duplicates of for the house
I like the pressure washer idea! I was thinking 60 volt reciprocating saw but yes the PW would be easy money!!!
Thx
Have every tool in ur list. Love the content bro # Dewalt 4 life
I disagree with what beginners need. Of course the pressure washer makes a good point but it's a niche tool. Here is my list of must need
1 impact driver
2 hammer drill
3 circular saw
4 recip saw
5 oscillating multi tool
Of course there is many more like miter and table saw but my list includes most of what you can get away with and do almost any job with creativity.
I got the XR version with the plain battery & charger last holiday season for $99 from HDepot, but they went out of stock fast.
I was coming to say the same thing
Well done Vince for explaining about the top 5 Must buys, what choices (from each tool and cost differences to being a "self" contractor, how time is a factor getting tools on the job to loading it back home etc.....) , how the "Pressure Washer" tool only can make you tons of cash doing multiple usr of it making money (my favorite go to tool when needing to maake cash asap),. As always Vince, awesome job on this topic and video. Thx, for your knowledge, your Hard work making these videos and Dedication. I have learned so much from many of them. God Bless my Brother...Jeff
Smart list , very insightful , and ofc appreciated ! Ty VCG !
I got to say I like the thinking behind the number 1 pick
Cordless bush trimmers are #1 stand alone door to door hustle to go with your pressure washer
That mutter saw was awesome! DeWalt makes some of the coolest mutter saws out there! 👍😎
One tool I always wanted to try out and I seen DeWalt just came out with one the pole sander and vacuum always wanted to try one
The festool one kicks ass
Love the video just wish he had mentioned you can upgrade your dws779 at anytime and add what I believe the only big difference is between the 779 and the 780 that XPS system led light for around 60-70$ bucks.
Ps don’t forget to smash the like!
Can you do a video on the best independent or universal folding miter saw table as well as table saw table? Bosch, Dewalt, Others? Would they work with the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 12” Miter Saw or the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Table Saw? Thanks!
Pressure washer and a Paint Sprayer house Eves and trim 💥 BOOM you can Spot Potential Customer’s from the Street
I bought the $600 DCD780 miter for $300. It was open box, with no accessories, but definitely worth it.
I use the flexvolt advantage it is a beast I would recommend that drill over any other
I like the way talks about getting right to the point.
Love the show. Im just not sure if I’m buying tool to work or am I working to buy tool 😲
Sounds good Josh we appreciate the feedback!
Thanks to this channel I became a tool addict .
Great thinking, great talking, great list.
Can you do something on the DeWalt propress I do HVAC install and I want to see it in action I've used the Ridgid for years but I'm DeWalt guy just don't know if I can trust it
My Hobart welder 145 love it
I have all of these tools except the multitool, not all DeWalt, but most.
