I have found that a dish or cup base could end up leaving your slug half way across the transfer port as the cocking pin has further to travel before it makes contact with the base of the slug. With a flat base slug the slug is pushed further into the barrel past the transfer port allowing a clear passage for the air to propel the slug from the barrel.
@@airgunsofidaho4886 did you measure the furthest point of the transfer port then measure the depth of how fat the slug was pushed into the barrel, If so how did you measure it please.
@@PeakyBlinder load a pellet or slug in the air gun and then remove the barrel. And then just check how far the pellet or slug and see how far it when it the barrel. That's the best way to do it
@@airgunsofidaho4886 thanks, I did this and the slug that was concaved sat very close to the transfer. So now I'm looking into the difference between concaved and flat slugs.
Looks like a much improved version of the "Weebly Nomad" pellet maker that was made ~10 years back. The one thing that was nice was it came with a 5 gang mould to cast cores so you didn't have to buy lead wire. This one is much heavier duty and appears to be better machined as well.
If you cast the cores, how do you know the composition of the alloy is correct? Which lead would you source? Pure lead is too soft for making pellets, it needs antimony to make it harder.
@@1959Berre JSB pellets are almost pure lead, if not actual pure lead. Crossman pellets are much harder. I used recovered JSB pellets from a pellet trap to cast my cores.
This is dope. Been thinking about getting a press and some dies.... but just dropped a sh!t ton of loot on a 2nd Maverick setup (.30), new G19, and a thermal scope. Thanks for the info here, king.
Luego voy a hacer un video con los slugs calibre. 30 que estoy haciendo por vaciado y con molde NOE de 56 grains. Aun falta perfeccionar la aleacion pero ya estoy agrupando en 20 mm a 50 metros con el Impact MK2

I prefer using the press. Since I can use different hollow points and different bases on the slugs. I not have very much experience casting so my slugs are not very good from the molds.
for the mini swage how much did it cost and if you dont mind could you send a link to the website you got it from or where you can get them from thanks
I think the die is over priced.. well if you order it in a shop who has only manual lathe machine that price may fair but if the shop has CNC and they realy made it for mass produce that price is super high
How much is the material worth? Well its almost insignificant, what makes it expensive is the making process or how they making is done. In a small shop that is first-time working on it it may take 2 hours but with the proper toolings, you dont even need CNC even conventional machines they can make one every 10 minutes.
Thanks for the awesome information.Great video
Thanks
I just received my GMI swager and it's awesome.
Very nice job
But could you please tell me how calculated the (0.30 $ to 22.99 ) the price 0.30 is for how many pellets?
Thank you very much for time

What do you prefer? Melting the lead (casting) or use this press method?
I prefer using the press. Since I can use different hollow points and different bases on the slugs. I not have very much experience casting so my slugs are not very good from the molds.
how consistent is the diameter and weight between the slugs you make with gmi diy? Do weight and diameter fluctuate between the same molded slugs?
No it's better then corbin press
Where do you get your lead core?
no product available on GMI website
Where do u buy the die and cords
Hello. Im from Argentina. How can i buy that kind of dies or mold? Calibre 6.35 Thanks

I wished I could make some myself but it is not too cheap even the "cheap way" 😁
Hey. Airgunning isn't cheap.
@@airgunsofidaho4886 it is until you end up with 15 cheap airguns 😁
Get the GMI freedom press they are spot on.
Very interesting! Where can you buy the kit to make the slugs? Thank´s
GMI engineering,
The quality is outstanding.
How to avail for 22 and 177
Enough interest in dies I'll start making them.
If you do start making them. Let me know I need .177 .25cal and .30cal
Brp harga cetakan peluru slug om..?🙏🙏🙏
Diluar negri mahal dan rumit prosedur pembeliannya.belum lagi pajak bea masuk.
Buatan lokal juga bagus aku punya 2 model jsb n nsa 13 gr
Guud video 👍🏻
Thanks
Good job bro,I see why your breaking your presses! You don't need that much force on them,it's lead not steal its soft, your press should last forever!
Thanks for watching
Ya I'm going to get into it,thanks for sharing how to do it,I was wondering how it was done.
I've got the same swaging only in 25 Cal and I've got a 1 ton arbor press haven't broke mine yet probably made at least 15,000 slugs
I even use a longer cheater bar on it
@@danieldyck2576 Ya that's cool just take it easy 😂!

I don't think it's overpriced for a Corbin or the the new GMI freedom dies they're all around twice the price of these
