I found myself getting excited every time Hoenn won...except for Ground type. I personally would have given Sinnoh the edge. The group of Gliscor, Garchomp, Torterra, Gastrodon, and Mamoswine is unrivaled IMO.
Well, we do get GROUNDED battling those...

I am a man who builds the unconventional fast rock dog with its priority rock type pro gamer move. Talonflames, and Volcaronas hate me. Though I do highly agree that best bugs are in Unova with Volcarona, and Scolipede being two that I love using

Hydregion, haxorous, druddigon, the dragon trio.
I mean, the entire storyline of the region is built off dragons

I just played through it again and realized that. I tried out Scolipede for the first time over leavany and it was a beast.
I’d have to tie it with Alola though. Golisopod, Araquanid, Vikavolt are all good as well
TeamRAGE PSYCHO alola does have some beasts too. I wouldn’t include vikavolt because of its abysmal speed

Wow...! The last time I’ve seen Unova win anything was a while ago. It’s my favorite region though, because even though Pokémon like Simipour do unfortunately exist, Pokémon like Oshawott, Bisharp, and Zekrom are so frickin’ amazing it’s ridiculous. Having a lot of Pokémon never hurt anyone!

With your last statement at least. A lot of Pokémon hurt Sword and Shield players when a lot of favorite Pokémon got left out. Fun game but still sucks when most your favorite Pokémon aren’t able to be put in game. Well at least at launch. Maybe eventually we will get them all
@CinderaceLucario46 I agree, that’s why a lot of the older games made it where you couldn’t transfer Pokémon til you beat the game. Thus making you more likely to use the new Pokémon but still have to keep the old by continuing to transfer forward your old Pokémon. I have a lot of favorite Pokémon that I worked really hard to get in shiny form and/or perfect IVs. I’d like to bring them into the game and use them how I see fit after I’ve completed the game. So id say my point still stands, especially since one of my Pokémon was gifted to me by a friend before I joined the military and I no longer have contact with that friend now since he went back to his old country (he doesn’t use social media)

@@Samuel-p17 How is it too modern? Thats pretty cool. We had some ancient stuff with gen 2 so a more modern region makes totally sense. And every water route is much more annoying than that desert. (Which is pretty damn cool, you know some fresh air for the franchise)

For me Johto was the premier Dark region. It had Tyranitar, Houdoom, Sneasel, and Umbreon.
Not to mention laid the groundwork for dark types, with classics such as Murkrow and Sneasel

Even though a lot of people can point to a Unova pokemon they absolutely hate, I notice that most people have multiple favorites or love the pokemon of that region overall. So seeing how high it ends up ranking on this particular list isn't as much a surprise to me as it could be.
I feel the Day way about gen 5 as I do with Gen 2 the Pokémon that I love I really love like Tyranitar and Excadrill and the Pokémon I don't like I really don't such as sentret and patrat. The dislikes for me drag them down in my list of my favorite Pokémon Regions. It's weird though as I like some of the mons people tend not to like Garbodor and Vanillish
For me, gen 5 has always been my favorite region. It doesn’t have my #1 or #2 favorite Pokémon in it, but it definitely has the most Pokémon in my top 20. There’s a whole lot of very good Pokémon in it to choose from. Sure there are some bad Pokémon in the region, but the good outweighs the bad in my opinion. I really think that it has the most consistently good Pokémon in it. Maybe not the top ones, but the ones that are really good and grouped together are better than the other regions’ Pokémon.
Unova I think has the least consistent pokemon. The good ones are awesome, but the bad ones are very forgettable.

Most of my favourite Pokémon are Unovan. (Snivy, Oshawott, Minccino, Purrloin, Liepard, Simipour, Emolga, Sawsbuck, Archen, Mienfoo, Mienshao, Virizion, Reshiram and Victini
(I also love the evolutions of Snivy and Oshawott, I just didn't include them because of redundancy.)

Unova is so underrated, it's honestly my favorite region. Mostly because of Liepard, Zoroark, Bisharp heck even Grimsley is my favorite Elite 4 member.
I think the designs of the Pokémon and the Pokémon themselves are the best region
Pokémon Black was the first real game I’ve ever played and I ended up getting all 4 (two were my brother’s which he never played) and I beat all of them. It’s such a shame it gets so much hate in the Pokémon community

And most grass starters are meant to be tank which is hard due to the several weaknesses, I am currently playing SS with chikorita and honestly, how am I suppose to have a tank grass if it is weak to everyone?
If you have a water type and an electric type on your team, grass types are useless. Electric types are way better than grass types, and everyone has a water type on their team. This is why I never pick a grass type starter.

Electric, bug and dark all went to Unova and I’m so happy. I knew it would win in bug but I wasn’t expecting electric or dark. Unova is my favorite region and you can’t change my mind.
Unova is my favorite region too, since it's the first region not inspires by Japan, Gamefreak really tried to do something completely different and unique, and with 155 pokemons !! Unova is just my entire childhood, I love it !
Unova is incredible. Yes, there was some flops but it seems that everyone just ignores the other amazingly designed pokemon, and there are a lot. I mean a lot.
Ifkr. All of these people only remember trash bag, trio monkey, ice cream and how dumb ash was in the anime. But the forgot thaf there are cool and usefull pokemon out there aswell. Not to mention, N (character)

Evolved into a bigger rock with four arms. . . . then into a lizard rock wtFFF??. . . Johto did a lot better in terms of pokemon design and overall after Kanto pretty much every region has really good designs. But when you consider how many pokemon Unova has, like seriously, more than the original you're bound to expect some muck ups. Plus I think trubbish is kinda cute imo

Hoen has the best starters
I think this really shows how Unova's limitations on older pokemon helped it's new Pokemon in the end. Not having old Pokemon to use a crutch forced the design team to give Unova both quality and quantity, and in reverse typed to make the region feel complete.
I. Love. Unova. (Black 2 was my first Pokémon game along with oahwott as my first Pokémon. Unova just stands out to me and I think it doesn’t deserve the hate it gets)

Galactic Ghost truth, I highly dislike Pokémon that are inanimate objects. So Ice cream cone is Garbo to me. I actually love this video - this is why I watch this channel (well other than the fact Ron is so likeable) - this is an entirely subjective yet accurate video that presents a fun and interesting concept. Like the kind of thing you’d wonder to yourself and have fun thinking about presented in a really entertaining way! It truly shows one of the reasons why I love pokémon :)
I also love Unova as much as the other regions. Scrafty is one of my favorite pokemon!

i’m fine with you liking hydreigon because i know a lot of people who love that design (myself included) but i’m not sure if i can with the legendary part. but i think if there was a vote gen 3 legendaries and their megas would beat out gen 5 and their form changes.

@@noahsmith1978 I think the main reason people love Rayquaza so much is that a huge amount of us started out with Hoenn as their first gen, giving Rayquaza the heavy bonus of nostalgia (Ron here is a pretty good example for that), meanwhile Unova get's bashed as 'bad' or 'uncreative' for a bunch of stupid reasons eventhough the legis prob have the most fleshed-out backstory of them all. At least imho. I'm wondering how things would look if that wasn't the case tho. Guess we'll never know. :)

I actually love unova the style they gave the Pokémon just felt very fresh
I actually appreciated quite a lot of Unova pokes way more with the Gen 6 3D graphics.
some pokes like Hydreigon, Haxorus or Volcarona were amazing even back then, but others like Swanna looked super dull... and in the 3D they look wayy better.
I agree with you Good Name! All of the Unova Pokémon felt so colourful, unique, fun, and they hold a special place in my heart. You cannot ignore how amazing some of these Pokémon are, like Oshawott, Zoroark, Reshiram, Zekrom, Zebstrika, Bisharp, Audino, Dewott, Emboar, Genesect, Emolgo, Cinccino, et cetera.
Unova is one of those 50/50 situations. I loved the design of the region, but the mons definitely could have used more work. I never thought about Unova being the inspiration for fairies before, but considering mons like Bisharp and Hydreigon, it makes sense. All I can ask for is that Pokémon keeps growing as a franchise.
I was shocked to not see Hoenn mentioned for Dark. It has Absol, Crawdaunt, Sharpedo, Shiftry, Mightyena, Cacturne and Sableye and even a Dark Elite 4. I know quality is over quantity but it’s just not unacceptable.
Pokemon White is the first Pokèmon I played so of course my fav is Unova

The 5th gen is the first pokemon game i started to play so I might be biased when i say its its my top 3 favorite pokemon game next too Alola and Sinnoh
As a bug monotype player, Gen 5 was like a love letter to me. I love it. My competitive monotype bug teams usually comprises of at least 4 Unovan types, and you could still be effective with 6.

Hoenn was the region I grew up playing in. I quit after that. But I'll always have Hoenn in my heart
Personally I think unova shoulda gotten the fire type. Darmanitan volcarona and chandalure are all heavy hitters. It also has everyone’s favorite *_Simisear_*

Kanto should win fire type and Unova should win dragon type.
Dragon type actually is three place tie with hoenn, sinnoh and unova.
For fire it should have been unova > johto > kanto in descending order.
I get it how Unova can rival Hoenn for dragon type... but I don't see Sinnoh in that tie.... My opinion is that Hoenn wins over Unova with some of the best dragon types out there, but Unova is also very dear to me and Unova's whole story revolves around dragons and the dragon trio......
It's just that Hoenn's dragon types are far more memorable...

Tbh it was either that or unova idk how sinnoh won. Salamanca in my opinions is the worst psuedo legend. Only really cool dragon type to me there is rayquaza. Unova has 3 dragon legendaries. Hydreigon haxorus and even more. And sinnoh has 3 dragon legendaries and garchomp very close I prefer unova but sinnoh is second idk how hoenn beat both of them

Dragon should have gone to Unova... The entire game is about dragons, and it is Filled with dragon type pokemon... I guess nostalgia took it away

@@ant2times I can put unova over sinnoh and I will put unova over sinnoh zekrom reshiram and kyurem are cooler then them and then we got hydreigon (cooler then garchomp IMO unpopular though the hydra part I enjoy) and haxorus being probably one of the best designed pokemon ever

Unova is my generation man, I'm more of a late bloomer to Pokemon and started getting into it when the Black and White games came out and I still love the hell out of those games.
