Nowadays mostly plantation teak is available for marine uses, which is not as good as the wild one. There is a even better timber for marine uses: Robinia pseudoacacia. This Tree is growing in the temperate climate in North America as well as in Europe, no need to cut down the tropical rain forest. However, carpenters don't like it for its bad spots. I never knew, that wild teak also has many bad spots. So for marine purposes better use pseudoacacia instead of teak!
@@n.mariner5610 thanks for that information. I used to work for Stag Furniture and we used a lot of Makori & Teak. The tools woul suffer working the teak and need sharpening a lot. It was working here I discovered that Balsa is a hardwood, we live and learn eh 😉

The band saw is not properly safe guarded and OSHA would cite them. I’ve inspected sawmills so I’m sure I could find at least another 20 plus violations. From what I can see very little PPE, no dust controls, poor material handling, etc. Probably not in the U.S.

Anyone with half a brain can't assume this is in the US and FWIW OSHA doesn't regulate every business, there are exceptions. Teak is a hardwood and the dust is carcinogenic yet I see no measures to control it. I'm sure the mill doesn't want to kill it's workers.
