Bin begeistert! Ich weiß, warum ich meine Objektive hier reparieren lasse! Habe den Kanal erst gestern gefunden und alles angesehen! Absolut empfehlenswert 👍
NEVER! ...use a metal screwdriver to unscrew lens retainer ring notches after initial loosening with lens wrench! ......always use a soft wooden toothpick or similar item to unscrew the retainer, so as to avoid scratching the lens!................it does not hurt to insert a thin rubber insert first to protect the lens, as I always do with especially valuable lenses!!
Dear Clive Glendinning, the retainer ring is on the outer side of the rear lens block, so you can't scratch the lens if you use a screwdriver... provided you don't have shaky hands and touch the lens when inserting the screwdriver.
Is it my impression or you are avoiding to touch the sensitive part of cleaning stuck aperture lamelles/ blades in Biometars and / or Tessars? Are you going to help us out with such a video? Needed badly… thanks
I case someone was wondering : Helios 44M and original Biotar share the same formula and you can exchange some of the lenses BUT Helios' rear element is slightly larger (like 0,2-0,5 mm in diameter) and can't fill the gap of the Biotar's rear element. However, it is possible to exchange the front elements, they are the same I tried this because I prefer the ergonomic of Biotar but someone gave me one with front/rear element not protected and with scratches.
Thank you for the video. I'm stuck at the point where I have merged the two pieces together, but when I turn the focus ring, it comes off track? Can you help me out with this?
Hello jhaymee hizon. Can you make a short video and upload to your channel or send it to my email : info@emtrades.de . I think you have set the parts not in the correct thread. Do you have made a mark during disassemly the both parts?
Thanks for sharing. I have the Biotar 58mm och Tessar 50mm and on both, the aperture ring is very tight. I have watched this video but i do not see how you lubricate the aperture ring. I´m a newbe in this matter :-)
