Can you explain what is happening at around 23 minutes? I partially disassembled a similar model to this and I am having difficulty putting it back together again.

I've degreased and regreased my helicoid, but when I put the screws back in that align with the lengthways groove in the inner threads of the helicoid, the outer part of the helicoid no longer slides over the inner part

that is the greatest video how to clean the lens, but it is pity that the actions were out of screen, I can't see what the minor adjustment on the plastic components to press the aperture blades metal ring! I can finish these step, but the aperture blades will drop very easily when I try connect the small spring spring!!

I case someone was wondering : Helios 44M and original Biotar share the same formula and you can exchange some of the lenses BUT Helios' rear element is slightly larger (like 0,2-0,5 mm in diameter) and can't fill the gap of the Biotar's rear element. However, it is possible to exchange the front elements, they are the same I tried this because I prefer the ergonomic of Biotar but someone gave me one with front/rear element not protected and with scratches.

I just bought an Orestor and because I wanted to disassemble the lens, I found your video, but wow, I really enjoy the music too! 😆

Great. But what was wrong with the aparture? I have 3 lenses like this. The aparture blades look shiny with marks on them. Is it possible that there is oil on the aparture blades of this lens or are the aparture blades just made out of shiny metal?

Commentary is kind of essential on this. I do not feel brave enough to take mine apart to fix it without reassurance I am getting the steps correct such as what chemicals to use and what to look out for when dealing with such intricate fragile parts as the iris blades.

Pure shot in the dark here, I have this same lense, the iris was sticking I disassembled it cleaned the blades.. Reassembled, and it's still sticking.. Any ideas where you could to get parts, I tried finding one one ebay to act as a donor for parts but no success

Thanks for sharing. I have the Biotar 58mm och Tessar 50mm and on both, the aperture ring is very tight. I have watched this video but i do not see how you lubricate the aperture ring. I´m a newbe in this matter :-)

Great video. I have a question that you may be able to answer. My Orestor has an element that is loose. It is not the front element but what sits before it. Do you know how much I have to loosen to be able to fasten it? Grateful for a little guidance. Greetings from Sweden.
