    The blind is easy to put up and take down. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxvlQxmcZQzSQSYbJsEgAGvG2DaduKTV99 As a female hunter, the ease of placing and setting up the blind is a plus. It’s more of a wind barrier than a warm quilted blind. Which makes it a lot lighter than our quilted blind. I enjoyed the larger windows/openings. Made for a successful season. It has held up well for the first season and the stitching looks good.

    One thing I would do is have areas for stakes on a tractor so you can lift it and move it

    My 5 year old is wanting one of these for hunting. So, I’m going to give it a shot. I am terrified of snakes being in & under things so I’m going to try & put his on a little platform so we can check underneath it. Thanks for sharing!

      They are perfect for kids. I would make a floor frame and just screw a sheet of 3/4" plywood down for the floor. Then you don't have to worry about a snake slithering up into the blind while hunting. Good luck!

    Very cool project there, will certainly try this before hunting season starts next year.

      Thank you!. You'd be surprised how much space is actually inside the blind. Fits two people, chairs, bows and snacks very easily.

    I'm gonna do the same thing, but on my trailer. Easy to secure, level, and move. Good work fellers.

      Yep, if the property we put this on was bigger it would be on a small trailer. Good luck!

    Great job !
    Your hay mattingseems more durable than some others I've seen. You may want to specify exactly what it was so that others could find it too.
    Another idea I just stumbled upon was reed fencing. I was wondering IF it might be a viable covering as it has a life of up to 20 years.

    Looks great. May try this. Looks like you used about 10- 2x4x8 though, not 3.

    • @YoungAdventuresOutdoors
      @YoungAdventuresOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are two sets of bills of materials and you'll use more 2x4s on the blind with the platform than you will without a platform and just a rectangle base.

    How did you attach the hay to the actual frame? Did you just poke through the tarp and through the plastic with zip ties?

    • @YoungAdventuresOutdoors
      @YoungAdventuresOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but just on the outside arched circumference so that if it rains water only enters on the edges...if that makes sense.

    Looks awesome. Is it noisy with the plastic sheeting being the covering? Does it flap in the wind? How did you attach the straw blanket?

    • @YoungAdventuresOutdoors
      @YoungAdventuresOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ryan!
      Not noisy at all. The straw basically reduces wind and rain speed before it hits the plastic. No flapping as long as it is secured well. I layed the straw blanket over the top length ways first and fastened it to the corners of the hog panel using zip ties. Took about 2-3 layers. Good luck making one!

    how tall did you make the door opening? 6'?

    • @YoungAdventuresOutdoors
      @YoungAdventuresOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a little lower than 6'. Once you curl the hog fencing around and secure each end to the platform, you'll basically have the height already established. Hope that makes sense.

    What size are the windows

    • @YoungAdventuresOutdoors
      @YoungAdventuresOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't remember exactly, but we cut two squares high and I think three squares wide out of the hog paneling. This would all be personal preference based on what weapons you'll be using in the blind.

  • @54Wartburg

    Do you have to replace the straw matting every year?

    • @YoungAdventuresOutdoors
      @YoungAdventuresOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how much weathering it takes. If you bring the blind inside a barn or even put a tarp over it through the winter I don't think it would need replaced.

  • @benjaminrogers7927
    @benjaminrogers7927 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there any way you could give me the dimensions of the base and the door of this blind?

    • @YoungAdventuresOutdoors
      @YoungAdventuresOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won't be near the blind anytime soon. The base length is two hog panels wide. I believe each hog panel is 4' tall, to it would be 8' wide. 8'x4.5' should be pretty close. The door width is just wide enough to fit through with several layers of clothes on, approx 18".
