Let me just say that your reading vlogs are some of my favorites; they're always so relaxing, and I love putting them on in the morning when I'm eating breakfast/getting ready for work. I read Ten Thousand Doors last month, and absolutely loved it. Although it definitely suffered from "Bad Synopsis Syndrome," because that synopsis on the back kind if indicates something that doesn't quite happen. I actually loved Serpent and the Wings of Night when I read it in February, but admittedly just as a fun, vampiric read and not something I take seriously. I plan to finish it up, but I want to wait until I start begging fall to get here around July XD
I love how I am watching this right when my nephew goes down for his nap... I went book shopping this weekend but didn't film because it was busy in the bookstore on both days that I went. Love the vlog as always. I got the Tempest of Tea
I know you are always on the lookout for something similar to The starless sea, and i just have to recommend you The spear cuts through water by Simon Jimenez: it has a beautiful writing style, and the way it is written as a story within a story within a story...it's so good, so unique and i think really your vibe! (I made a comparison to The starless sea because of the storytelling aspect of it, they are definitely different)
I am currently reading Iron Flame. Adored Fourth Wing so I'm into the second and liking it a lot. I have no idea what I will read after..im new to fantasy but liking it so far. Fourth Wing and Iron Flame are my first only fantasy novels.
you always make my day better, katie 🍀 i live for the cozy vibes you always deliver. also, ive been wanting to read the ten thousand doors of january for years and this just might’ve officially sold me! andddd i bought the first book in the mistborn trilogy bc of you aaaaa im intimidated by it but also so excited to start!!! big hugs 🍄🟫🩵
Whilst I do love the mmp for Terry Pratchett, they released beautiful hardback copies in the UK, at least. I got Guards! Guards! & Mort. These will be the first novels of his I read, but I did play multiple parts in an amateur version of Wyrd Sisters and remembered enjoying it 😊
My husband who has loved Discworld his whole life was sitting next to me when you said you started Terry Pratchett’s books and got so excited 🥹💛 I have also started reading them recently and hope you love them! Monstrous Regiment is a really fun one to read next!
I think that when it comes to a fate inked in blood you just have to embrace the fact that this 100% insta love and dont try to find a deep meaning between the relationship and you’ll be fine. I had a great time reading it ❤
Hey Katie, I usually don’t comment on your videos but I thoroughly enjoy your vlogs 😊 I was also wondering, in one of your previous videos, I’ve seen that A Winter’s promise was on your TBR and you haven’t talked about it since. Have you read it or you haven’t got the chance yet ? It’s one of my favorite series of all time, I’m really excited to see your review on it !
I can’t remember if I mentioned in a previous vlog, but there is one other novella in the Cytonic series which is Defending Elysium a prequel to Skyward. If you’re interested that is. 😊
i just finished tempest of tea and i loved it so much if you like six of crows you will enjoy it so much! and just finished curse of true love too this was definitely my favorite series this year along with caraval.
I have both Starling House and Ten Thousand Doors of January sitting on my tbr shelf - hoping to get to them this year… finally 😹 good to see you reading some of the Discworld books, Mort was the first Pratchett I ever read - loved it! I also enjoy Hogfather (read it every year as New Year’s approaches. Another fave Pratchett is Guards Guards. I hope you continue to enjoy the various strands of Discworld.
I’ve read both mort and wyrd sisters, love them both, but the city watch series is my favourite in the Discworld, starting with Guards Guards, the humour in that series is ON ANOTHER LEVEL, like as soon as I read the dedication of that book I was like yeah this is gonna make me lol
I’m doing a Discworld read next year and slowly gathering the books I’m currently missing in my collection. First I read was Hogfather. The next I picked up was WeeFreeMen and was definitely hooked. 😂
I just started The Final Empire recently and enjoying it. I am 31% into The Serpent and the Wings of Night and took me a while to get used to the writing style but other then that I am enjoying the vibes. I continued the Red Rising series as well.
Miss Katie you have perfected the art of reading vlogs 😌 I love these videos and find them so satisfying and relaxing. Love hearing your thoughts and updates! P.S. The amount of serotonin I received from seeing you hold Witch Hat Atelier >> 😭😭 I can’t wait for your 24 hour readathon!!
Yayy😄 I`m so happy you`ve started your journey in Discworld! I`ve read only 9 books so far, but love this series with my whole heart. Cant wait to see your thoughts on other novels🧡
Oh how I relate to your experience with the ashes and the star cursed king, I'm almost 300 pages into it and I just can't seem to actually get into it, the pacing feels weird idk. You made me so excited to get into era two of mistborn it sounds like it will be a great time 💜 can't wait for the 24H vlog with Cass!
The vibe of Mort’s cover marching your cardigan is on point. ✨ I’m going to give Discworld a go now! Also I’m on page 205 of The Ashes & the Star Cursed King and I haven’t picked it up in 3 weeks since. I’m going to try and finish it too but I feel the same as you. It’s not working. But I loved the earlier two books !!!! I don’t like how they’re now enemies but not enemies. Also Raihn is hard to connect with 🙃🙃🙃🙃
Glad you’re lovin’ Era 2. It’s a favorite of mine ❤ I’ve read 3 AE Harrow novels-10000 Doors-Once and Future Witches-Starling House. None of those were favorites for me/I wouldn’t read them again; although I was more engaged with Once and Future Witches than the other two. Libraries are great aren’t they. Love to see you use yours so much 📚💚
i'm sad it took me so long to start era two honestly!!💙 i'm glad to hear you enjoyed once and future witches at least a bit more than the others, i feel like starling house will remain my favorite of hers but we shall see!
"This is a novella"....excuse me? That was my thought, at first then the name on the book..it makes sense. His books are like 1K so a 600 page book charts with a novella.😅
I was not expecting to love Mistborn era 2 as much as I did either! Alloy of law was my favorite but they are all so good and I think by the end of era two you will be 🤯🤯🤯🤯in the best way haha. And Steris is one of my fav too, I loved her from the first introduction and it grew through the series! i'm also going(very VERY slowly) through the discworld novels and they are so good! I think the last one I read was Sourcery. Mort was so incredible!! The ashes and the star cursed king... I think I struggled a bit with the first half and second was better, though I still prefered the first one. And the ten thousand doors is one of my favorite books from the year I read it.. no surprise I ended up adoring the starless sea later on haha
i'm glad to hear you also loved era 2!! i'm literally so excited to start the lost metal! i definitely did not give steris the attention she deserved in the beginning, but now i love her so much, also glad to hear you're loving discworld as well!! i've heard really great things about mort so i really can't wait to get to that one!!💗
If you haven’t read Piranesi by Susanna Clarke yet, that really gave me The Starless Sea vibes! I liked The Ten Thousand Doors of January, but I thought I was a little predictable.
Really love your videos katie …You should read dark matter by blake crouch , great sci-fi standalone like skyward series for people less into the genre
If you had to suggest one Brandon Sanderson series to someone who has never read their books or that genre, what series would you suggest? I want to give him a chance and don't know where to start!
i think starting with the final empire, which is the first book in the original mistborn trilogy, is a good place to start! i think the magic system is really well explained and intriguing and the world building is pretty simple to follow, so even if you're new to the genre you should be fine!
I love so much your reading vlog! But now I'm curious... Have you ever readed the Crave series by Tracy Wolf? I'm sure it's perfect for your vampatoon😂! I love it sooooo much!!!!
reading a fate inked in blood now!! so far it’s very action packed, it has interesting characters and magic systems, and the banter is U< you should definitely read!!
am I living or am I just waiting for the next Katie's reading vlog?
Honestly i was thinking the same thing

If you liked the Alix E. Harrow book The Once and Future Witches (also by her) was really good!

I recommend reading The Apothecary Diaries. I think you'll like it.
Yes, pick up those Robin Hobb books! They're amazing.
I think that when it comes to a fate inked in blood you just have to embrace the fact that this 100% insta love and dont try to find a deep meaning between the relationship and you’ll be fine. I had a great time reading it ❤

You have to check out Alex E. Harrow's novellas A spindle splintered and A mirror mended!! they are like fairytale retellings! SOOO good
I love love love the Daevabad trilogy!

Hi Katie!! So glad you got the book! I promise it’s been opened and I did actually read it 😂
you kept it in great condition then haha!! so thanks ;))
In english, atelier is pronounced (ah-tall-yay) with a strong accent on 'tall'.
I was not expecting to love Mistborn era 2 as much as I did either! Alloy of law was my favorite but they are all so good and I think by the end of era two you will be 🤯🤯🤯🤯in the best way haha. If you haven’t read Piranesi by Susanna Clarke yet, that really gave me The Starless Sea vibes! I liked The Ten Thousand Doors of January, but I thought I was a little predictable.
Great vlog 📚☕
steris is the best!!!
100% agree!!!!
Really love your videos katie …You should read dark matter by blake crouch , great sci-fi standalone like skyward series for people less into the genre
Where did you get the orange checkered tote? It’s so cute!!
i made it actually!
If you had to suggest one Brandon Sanderson series to someone who has never read their books or that genre, what series would you suggest? I want to give him a chance and don't know where to start!

I love so much your reading vlog! But now I'm curious... Have you ever readed the Crave series by Tracy Wolf? I'm sure it's perfect for your vampatoon😂! I love it sooooo much!!!!
I was SO disappointed with the ashes and the star cursed king. It just doesn't have the same vibe with the first book and the romance was frustrating.
100% agree and i'm so sad about it😭
I haven’t read The Ashes at the Star-Cursed King because I absolutely hated The Serpent and the Wings of Night🥲
