I really want to read the Natural History of Dragons series but the fact that you said it’s slow-paced makes me nervous because I like fast-paced, character-driven stories which I know is very specific haha. I love your videos!

Such a relaxing reading vlog! And I feel similarly about "Just for the Summer", it wasn't a 5-star read for me but I still really loved it and have been thinking about it often since finishing it :)

I also felt that the Witchwood Knot fell a little short for me. I did like the connections to Half a Soul though! I adored Where the Dark Stands Still! It was reminiscent to the Bear and the Nightingale but a little more whimsy for me. Plus we love a stand-alone!
I think it would be great if you made a video with all of your favorite cozy, whimsical, vibey fantasy books! Like Emily Wilde, Half a Soul, etc. these are really becoming some of my favorite types of books, and I’m always looking for recommendations!

I don't know if you've read it already, but if you want books with BRILLIANT character dynamics, plus gorgeous ambience, vibes, found family, mystery, and a such a strong sense of yearning that is heartbreaking, I 150% recommend The Raven Cycle books by Maggie Stiefvater. It's my favorite book series ever.

the rest of Mark Lawrence's books are dark gritty fantasy with questionable main characters so if that's not your kind of thing, I'd not recommend 😂 love your crochet project btw! it's very pretty
And that's why I love them so much! However, yeah Katie would definitely not enjoy them. She doesn't strike me as the type that loves those kinds of characters

I love Lady Trent so much. They are some of the few books where I completely forget that it's a fictional story because of the memoir style. I think my favorite is book 3, I just really liked the sea adventure. Regardinga colder setting, the first book is set in snowy mountains and Isabella said that she hates the cold and unintentionally chose to focus her studies on dragons in more warmer climates
As someone who usually hates dual pov, I really enjoyed it in Just For The Summer! Justin is such a genuine and respectful guy. The way he talks about Emma makes me giggle and kick my feet. What I hate about most contemporary romances these days is that the mmc pov usually just consists of the guy constantly sexualizing and lusting over the fmc which honestly gives me the ick 90% of the time. That’s why I absolutely adore all of Abby Jimenez’s male characters that I’ve read about so far.

It is rare I feel like that I connect with a classic, there have been a couple instances where I have but for the most part I just find the writing styles of classics very difficult to get into. I really want to read Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice (my friend wrote a fanfic for Pride and Prejudice so I really want to read their story) and a few others. Maybe I'll give one a try soon haha.

i just read just for the summer last week and this book took me by surprise. it was so sos so good. and seeing you enjoy it as much just made my day. i read "things you save in a fire" after this and loved that one too

There are so many character tie ins from the previous two books of Just for the Summer!
I read persuasion in December and I loved it! I will say that there’s a bunch of info in the middle of the book that made me bored, but the ending truly was so good and I loved how it wrapped up!
persuasion is my absolute fav Jane Austen book and it really caught me by surprise bc I didn’t expect that at all!! It’s really so good, specially for a shorter book

If you can find a duology by Deborah Hewitt, it is a duology that is little talked about but it is phenomenal. The first book is The Nightjar and the sequel is called The Rookery. These books really are fab and if I can get more people reading them then my job is done, I really did love this duology 🤗🤗

I really enjoyed Just for the Summer and also Part of your World. I think if I had to choose though that Yours Truly (the second book in the interconnected series) would be my favourite of the three.

The Castle of Otranto isn't the greatest read ever (although it's been a long time since I read it, so I could remember wrong) but you'll see a lot of the typical gothic tropes in it, so it's interesting to read because of that.
What's the spice level of Just for the Summer? I want to find more romances I can read, but since I'm Birom-Ace, I don't want a ton of spice.
