Amazing young lady so awesome to see Randall Cunningham coaching his offspring

Heartwarming video. Some of the best athletes were coached by their fathers, so it's not a bad strategy. I'm truly excited to see how Vashti grows in her strengths and becomes a dominant force. Coaches can change multiple times but a solid, positive, foundation and a supportive family are essential.

Though she won two big competitions in 2018 her personal best is still a mark she set back in 2016. One would have hoped, at her age, to see yearly improvement. Perhaps Pizza Stand is right. In any event, I know we all wish her the best.

Honestly It's insane how flat she is! Not once in her jump does her chin leave her chest and her head extend back, I hope she can fix it soon, she's too good

As a 2.10 high jumper in high school, I can tell you that Vashti seriously needs to get a proper coach. Her dad doesn't seem to know shite about the science of jumping. Vashti is clearly a talent, and I would advise her to make the tough decision to cut her dad loose and get a respected jumping coach. Her dad can help her with the mental side as a great pro athlete, but he aint no high jump coach, that is for certain.

yeah, I think the fakt that she set the national high school record & was the WORLD 🌍 indoor champ by the age of 18 clearly demonstrates how little her misguidedl father knowz,,., after all, he only jumped 6’10” in high school & was 1 of the most exciting players in the nfl, but of course his personal knowledge doesn’t transfer very well 2 hiz progeny,, I think we shud send them str8 2 u so they can part8k uv alluv yr wizdum 👀😀

You’re a prize winning fool, do you think her dad is her only Coach? She has a whole team of coaches, consultants and specialists. Her dad is here alone today just here today just because it’s a video shoot day. And if he was her only coach check her achievements eat them...

I love both of them their spirit, attitude. Training is just practice for the real thing. I can't wait for her next Olympics.

@@shootingropes7717 Not true. Some people just have those kinds of bodies. I jumped 6' 10" at 135 Lbs, but I'm only 5' 11" everyone I jumped against was 3 inches or more taller than me. The world record holder was 6' 4" tall and about 175 at the time of breaking the record but the best jumper today who will most likely brake that here soon is only 6" 2" and about 140 so there is no real stereotypical body type for the high jump. I did all the jumping events both hurdle events and was often put in the 4 X 400 and all kinds of other events because coaches new I could score points. I ate all the time but with all the track and ungodly amount of sprint intervals I was very damn lean.

Interesting how she misses 80% of her jumps in practise. I get the strategy though.

I wish Vashti a lot of success. I'm not a fan of the high jump per se, but I am a football fan (american football) and I was a fan of her father and coach, Randall Cunningham. So, let's go Vashti.
