  • My video is not here to dismiss anyone's contributions during National Deaf Awareness Month, but rather to call for more impactful actions that address the root issues Deaf people continue to face. It's time we dig deeper than the shallow awareness I've seen on social media. We need to talk about Deaf culture, history, and the systemic barriers to human rights and access. I invite Deaf individuals to look beyond and speak up on the deeper issues. I urge Deaf leaders to bring these crucial matters to the forefront. I call on hearing people to not just observe, but to actively join in creating change. My focus this month is on Deaf children, who do not have voices of their own. We are their voices. We must fight for them. We are the children's future and they will grow to be our future as the next generation. It is our responsibility, as Deaf people, to ensure continuous advocacy and policy change to create an equal playing field for all. Let’s do more than raise awareness. Let’s act.

That's so true, many hearing people don't realise what is actually about deaf people ( education, employment, language, race; BIPOC )
