- Are Ellen White's writings a substitute for the Bible, or can they be placed on the same level?
The Bible is the most widely read book on the planet. Up to 100 million copies of this best-selling book are sold or given away every year. Beyond its message, the Bible has a wealth of fascinating wisdom from God. It is the complete revelation and the one rule of faith in practice, the standard for all teachings, and the foundation for all reforms.
Seventh-day Adventists believe that God inspired the writings in the Bible and that it contains comfort, guidance, counsel, and the plan of salvation. It should be regarded as an authoritative and infallible revelation of God’s will.
Ellen White’s writings, on the other hand, while not considered part of Scripture, are considered a lesser light that directs us to the Bible. They, too, were inspired by God, but they were not provided to take the place of the Bible.

Absolutely not. I believed Ellen already said that the Scriptures is the only sole basis of true faith and her writings are more of lights to help understand the Bible more.

I used to be one that shunned the idea of Ellen Whites writings, thinking that they were unimportant and irrelevant to me. Reading Ellen White for myself has completely transformed my understanding of scripture and living a Christian life. This has led me to a true conversion experience with my savior. I know for a fact that her writings are just as inspired as the writings in the bible and following this counsel has only aligned my life more day by day with scripture. What i think is often misunderstood is that there were other prophets throughout history (the bible mentions them) that were just as inspired and their words carried the same weight and authority from God as does our bible, even though some only spoke these messages and some wrote not all were included in the bible. Ellen White is no different. I thank God for the Truth that HE has given and eagerly await His soon return and living together with Him in a new heavenly home!

How SDA get you to believe in a Demon clothed as a sheep.
First it begins with a conversation about the Sabbath using persuasive words saying it's interesting, how the Sabbath has been forgotten, and anyone not keeping the Sabbath is going to Hell, and if you don't know the scriptures like you should, they can be convincing. Remember the Bible tells us that Satan will try to deceive us using the word of God and our job is to know Gods Word so we can test the spirit. Once your hooked at the possibility that everyone has the Sabbath day of rest wrong, and are going to hell, now they put doubt, and fear in you mind two favorite weapons of the enemy. Now you continue studying and they only use the Bible taking you from teaching to teaching letting you read, explaining what it means, and getting you to affirm that you are seeing the same thing in the scriptures. Now they beging to reel you in showing you how they know so much of the scriptures that you've been learning with them, and here it goes! Ellen G White! Now they say look for yourself read her writings and then compare it to the scriptures. They even tell you that White said that if her writings don't line up with scripture, throw it out! But there is only one problem. You don't realize that you are now confirming, i.e testing the spirit in this case Whites Bliblical revelations from God using Whites own writings. In other words you are corfirming what White said the Lord revealed to her by her own mouth, do you see the problem? But by now you are convinced that God spoke to her and gave her, not the apostles and writers of the New Testiment, but her! the revelations of what God is really telling His people in the scriptures. So then when someone tells you that Whites writings are not from God and you can prove it, because she made a prophecy that God told her that some people in a particular conference would die some would see plagues and some would not die including her because they would be caught up when Jesus returned in her lifetime. Now we know for a fact that didn't happened. But your so blinded by Ellen G Whites demonic revelations you try to justify her by throwing the Prophet Jonah under the bus saying he had a failed prophecy. Ok let's dissect the comparison. We know with complete certainty that Jonah was not a false Prophet because God says so, we know God spoke to Jonah and we know why God changed the Prophecy because He is Lord. So now we know Jonah is justified as a Prophet of God because the Bible tells us. Now you tell me by what scripture is Ellen G white justified? Trust me as hard a you search you wont find Ellen G White in the Bible so then see. Deuteronomy 18:20-21 says ("But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’- 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him"). How many prophecies must be wrong for a prophet to be false? One just one. Now after all of the evidence the conclusion must be that Ellen G White was a false prophet and all her teachings should be burned and forgotten. You are serving a different god, my God never lies and I will trust the Word of God over the word of a person claiming that an angel visited them to reveal the true meaning of the Word of God. or I might creat another god and put it before the one true Lord of Lords, King or Kings my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for real.
The physical mark is: they erect a digital economy and enforce the physical mark of the beast. Most people, yea, sadly 99% of Christians have the spiritual mark of the beast because they worship the beast. They go to church on sunday, Christmas and Easter. Our Lord Jesus, Paul, John, the Gentiles and I respect the sabbaths, new moons and holy days (passover, Pentecost, feast of tabernacles, etc). Revelation 11:10, Galatians 4:8-10, Jeremiah 10:1-5, Ezekiel 8:16, Acts 12:4 show people keeping CHRISTMAS AND EASTER FROM SATAN. Jesus is the everlasting Father, Alpha and Omega, the Almighty. Revelation 1. Isaiah 9:6. Only the Lord Jesus is without sin. We can be holy, perfect and blameless like Noah, Job, Elizabeth by the help of the Holy Ghost. Jesus is the LAMB of God. Lamb flesh is clean, and we can eat if we choose to. Telling people not to eat clean flesh is a doctrine of devils which Ellen taught. Repent and follow the Lord Jesus. Imagine singing, praying, reading the Bible but hearing depart from me, worker of iniquity. Judge Jesus kept the new moons and holy days like passover, feast of trumpets and others. She wrote that we should have less marriages as the world ends thus forbidding to marry. She did not keep the new moons nor holy days like Pentecost and feast of booths. The Holy Ghost spoke through Jeremiah, Isaiah, Paul and other apostles, not Ellen. She wrote no one can eat clean flesh like beef which is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. The Holy Ghost is the spirit of prophecy and the testimony of Jesus Christ, not Ellen White. Only women need to cover their hair while praying or prophesying.
So....what is the Holy Spirit for, or does Ellen G Whites and her writing supersede the function of the Holy Spirit 🤔🤔

I grew up reading Ellen White's books in my younger years. I wish the SDA were not similar to the Catholic Church
they believe in Mary as a very essential to salvation. The majority of believers outside the USA make Ellen White's
equal to the Bible. Sad the SDA church is not doing anything to correct that belief.

I finally decided to read her so I could make up my mind on wether or not she was a necessary part of being a SDA. Eight book later with six more on the shelf to go I can't get enough of her writings. I plan to read everything of her I can get my hands on. Her insight into a number of topics is invaluable and clearly from the Holy spirit.

I believe that she was given to this church to guide us through these stormy waters ❤were entering upon. Many churches have false prophets whose words do not come to pass and here we stand with the genuine article and some are ashamed to say she was a prophet. The spirit of prophecy has nothing to do but lead men and women to the "greater light" of the Bible.

I grew up SDA. Around 13 years old I stopped caring about the Faith. I never stopped believing in a Creator, but I wasn’t following Jesus. I started to think that the Bible isn’t a trusted work and that nobody can ever really know anything. A lot of that had to do with the misuse of Ellen White in that specific church, and I only recently came to believe she had the prophetic gift. Long story short I found my way back to the Bible. I went in with a complete open mind and renounced anything I thought I knew, and that included the sabbath. Sure enough, it didn’t take long for me to come to the sabbath truth on my own. Doctrine after doctrine I slowly became an SDA. I hated it at first, I didn’t want to accept it. I also thought there is no way it would be that easy for me, having the background of an SDA childhood. But I still couldn’t past the Ellen white thing, so I decided not to get baptized. After years I decided the only way to know is to read her books myself. And wow, did my mind change after not even finishing Steps to Christ. I accept it all now and have been baptized. That being said, I look back and understand something now. My initial concerns as a teen were honest, but rather than rejecting the behavior of that church, I did what most do unfortunately and rejected Gods word too. But it’s sad to say, while Ellen White has the prophetic gift, most SDA’s I know put Ellen white before scripture. They say they don’t, but then why is every week during sabbath school an Ellen white study and not a Bible study? Why do I hear Ellen whites name more than Jesus? EGW is an amazing woman and a great tool to coming closer to Jesus, but I still see it every week.
It’s the same with the sabbath. I know SDA’s more obsessed with the day then they are on actually spending time with God. We follow the sabbath, and worship God, and too many worship the sabbath and forget about God.

Both Catholic's and SDA's have authoritative people outside the Bible. SDA'S have EGW and the Catholics have the Pope. No difference . The Holy word of God in the Bible is sufficient for me.
This is erroneous thinking. The whole system of Catholicism is seen from Scripture to be false...and the pope a tool in satan's hands to lead ppl away from God's Truth. I've experienced it personally & can testify to this, & to the bad behavior of many of those "leaders" in that system of belief...children are harmed in their "educational" system, stemming from a lack of true love from their methods & facilitators. It's sad. God help us see HIS LIGHT and have mercy on us all, before it's forever too late. AMEN

How can you equal her writings to the Bible? Her writings are just like the book of Enoch and the book of jasher and the book of the chronicles. Yet, those books are forbidden to read by many Christians even though they are mentioned in the Bible.
Her writings cannot be compared to the Enoch book,her writings are in complete harmony with the bible in every single aspect, unlike the book of Enoch and many other "Christian books or prophetic writings " however no one said Ellen white writings are equal to the bible. They only point us back to the bible because they just repeat what is in the bible.

We are warned that if prophets "do not speak according to God's Words, it is because there's no light in them (Isaiah 8:20 NKJV)." The prophetic gift will always be in harmony with the Bible.

I believe God has always been preserving His word all way through the dark ages and He was also there to oversee the Bible compilations during those days and moreover He was also leading the christian reformation of 1500s which rejected the Book of Enoch from being added to the Bible. If it was a very good source, the good Lord would not have it miss being added to the bible we have today....away with the book of Enoch, when you see it,don't touch it.....when you see it,run away in the opposite direction.
Amen you answered your question very well without explicitly stating that we DO NOT believe that her writings are equal to the Bible. They led believers in confused times to the Bible & continue to do so. The church(body of believers) in the 1800s had gone through great disappointment and Christ raised her to point us back to the WORD. She does NOT replace the Holy Spirit.
Sadly in these days we have forsaken the Bible and clung to the campus. This video is a timely reminder that given a choice between her writings and the Bible- the Bible is the only rule of faith, she too needs to be tested against it. (It is easier to misapply the lesser light than the Bible is what I have observed over the years, this is where I see many reject her writings, when nuanced cases are made a blanket rule for everyone).
My Testimony- We have been blessed to study with the Power of the Lamb(Phototheology)/Living Manna led by pastor Ivor Myers where we are discovering amazing truths about Christ in Old Testament scriptures that we thought we just about the lives of patriarchs and prophets of old. Then why did Ellen White have 'visions' to clarify the biblical doctrines with which the early Adventists struggled rather than letting the scripture interpret itself through the Holy Spirit? And why did her interpretations change and contradict one another and thus be regarded as the 'new truth' to correct errors in her older 'new truth'? And why is she called "canonical " by the Adventist Church, and why is she called the "infallible interpreter of holy scripture" by the SDA church? And why is she referred to as the "authoritative source of truth" in your funda'mental' beliefs statement? And why is she taking the role of the "lesser light" leading to the greater light rather than the Holy Spirit being our light? And why did she claim the people who rejected her counsel were fighting directly against the word of God, not referring to the Bible but to her personal testimonies which she claimed were divine revelation, but were also shown to be plagiarized in many cases? Why did she deny the deity of Christ in her mormon-esque views of pre-creation?, Why does she deny his completed atonement? Why did she accuse God of deceiving Adventists by hiding mistakes in William Miller's 1843 charts and covering the errors with His hand, on purpose? Why did she claim to have more knowledge than the Lord Jesus when she declared God told her the day and hour of Jesus' coming in a vision? Why did she defy scripture by consulting with the spirits of the dead? Why were her 'inspired writings' stolen from other authors while she made the claim that they were divinely inspired and not of human origin? Why did she falsely predict the return of Christ again in 1856? Why did she claim that after 1844 the door of salvation was forever closed to all non-Adventists?
I believe her visions came directly from the Demonic Realm

I'll just be honest, many SDA members still consider Ellen G. White is the lesser light that leads believers to the greater light(the Bible). Yet John the Baptist was not a lesser light or even a light. He was the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Never claimed to be a light. The SDA church can interrupt it as so. But as John says, he is not a light.
John 1:1-8, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light."
John 1:23, "He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the LORD,” ’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”
This is why I see Ellen G. White as a false teacher. When I studied her teaching along with SDA church leaders, they made Ellen G. White and her teachings the most important above the Bible. And the Bible was only references to her teachings. It may be taught differently today than in 2010. But I can tell many of the believers and leaders saw themselves like the Pharisees of Jesus' day without admitting to it. That's why I stepped back from the SDA church and never chose to become a member. I am a Christian. And my Jesus is not Michael the Archangel, because Jesus is one with the Father and one with the Holy Spirit.
Amen let us lift up Jesus christ an his rightgeousness, the lamb of god that taketh away the sins of the world.

Be careful with White's writings some things she believed are in error including the investigative judgement doctrine which was endorsed by her but is not found in scripture
I felt so emotional when the letter to her sister was quoted. My sister has not given her heart to Jesus, and this is exactly what I want to say to her.
A SDA pastor called Dennis Priebe says the complete opposite

True, not infallible, except possibly when speaking in regards to the visions, as she did so many times. Have you ever been taken to the 3rd heaven like the Apostle Paul? No! Neither have I. So this is an affirmation of her gift. Unless you doubt.

Every time you read of a person going into vision or coming into contact with a messenger or angel all their strength left them and they basically fell down.Daniel is the formost example for Adventists.When Ellen G White went into vision she didn't lose her strength as Daniel and others did,she held up a 40 pound bible for an extended time at arms length!I talked to Hope Lives and was instructed to access Ellen GWhite estates on line. They have had to invest so much money in keeping functional online, that they are having to shut down access periodically to the site to save money , so my question I just mentioned is on hold! Mabey if Advent Health Systems didn't take out T.V ads at N.F.L. football games there would be resources to better give access to Ellen G Whites life's work!Do you believe Ellen G White was ordained of God as Deborah was ordained of God? I do! The Church at that time would not ordain her for the record.And here we are today up against this same issue!She herself said the Bible is progressive!My issue is there is a hard right wing conservative spirit afoot in the land and our Church and they have athourity in some quarters of Adventism!So with the issues facing us this uncompromising stance on some of these as reflected in blind obedience to Ellen G White ,is dangerous as shown in this current issue to determine whether getting a shot is a conscience issue.Leadership stance is it is not a conscience issue.I personally received a shot, I will stand on the promise "if ye shall drink anything poison ye shall not die" That dosen''t mean I'll start handling snakes!God bless you young Lady!
Thank you, Fred Simmons, for your reply. You bro't forth quite a few topics. You and I probably wouldn't agree on much of it. Each of us must give account to God. I personally have no problem with the issue of a 40 lb Bible, her not losing strength when an angel comes near, yet receiving strength for the witness of her peers in those days. The church revived was just getting started. God can do whatever He chooses! Remember she was the third person and the first female to accept that she would take this message to others. It wasn't easy!!! Remember she had serious health issues. God could have easily chosen, and I believe He did, to not lay any burden on her greater than what we see she already bore. I look at the fruit of her ministry and her own personal life, and how her writings have drawn so many thousands even that much closer to the LORD & His Word. If you look for doubts, you will find them. Her words correspond with the holy Word of God, & are helping many a soul be ready to give the Loud Cry, & for the time of trouble & His coming. We must consider these things before we voice doubts which others may read and become discouraged thereby. May God continue to guide His people and pour out His grace in our lives. Those who love Him supremely will by no means be deceived/lost. Thank you!

I don't have any doubts about The Third Angel's Message,or the mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.What I think is wrong is when elements in certain quarters of our Church insist ,and believe me this is a serious issue within the body,on not letting others see these truths, not to argue or bring doubt on the cause , it make those without feel justified in their doubt and accusations against Adventists!I appreciate your concerns about airing dirty laundry! I don't see the need for this discussion, when you bring up this topic, you saw seeds of doubt in people's minds.Its obvious,adventists believe in the bible alone. Her writings just point us to the bible and the writings don't write anything new,they just repeat what is in the bible. If you believe that she was inspired by the Holy spirit and even Paul the apostle was inspired by the Holy spirit, then can the Holy spirit give one person less inspiration than the other? Ellen White writings are not to be questioned,and not to be equalled to any other modern writings. But no one said she is the same as the Bible, stop putting questions in people's minds.
