The gen 3 hayabusa is now the most aerodynamic bike on the planet and more balanced than ever before. I was skeptical that it had a chance against the Lamborghini but it prevailed!.
Terrible bike the Hayabusa. REAL bike riders know how to use a short wheelbase. Former motorcycle endorsement teacher here I've had every sport bike, and four Ducatis. Bet I can spank any non pro up a mountain , me on a 600cc, + 210lbs. You on any bike you choose. Big vtwin sport bike fan that laughs at anything stretched
@@banzobeans The swingarm is the part that holds the back wheel. If you get a longer one, the back wheel is further back and the bike doesn't wheely as well
Glad to see Suzuki have FINALLY sorted the clutch grab issue caused by the back torque limiter (hub) doing the opposite and ramping up clutch pressure uncontrollably during a hard launch. I used to have to just dump the clutch using wheelspin to get me off the line without bogging as the clutch was impossible to moderate (slip).
Chris is one of the most criminally passed over rider presenter I've ever seen, incredible on a bike and a really good presenter, not sure about the guy in the car, because anyone can drive those silly things 😉😄👍

After watching the previous attempt with the Kawasaki, I was wondering if the choice of bike should have been the Busa. Great show, really loving the current series of Bike World and the wide range of reviews.

Never doubt a Suzuki I got a liter bike myself from suzuki with the K5 engine and it’s a beast in the 1/4 mile. I’m gonna put a two step on mine to help me leave a little more quickly.
@@Smzxe You’re right but this year they have shortened the gearing by adding 3 teeth to the rear sprocket for stronger mid range acceleration but sacrifices a lot in the top end, and for the track, top end isn’t that important

Two things are super amazing to me: 1. Just how little I'm interested in cars... Zzzzzzz and 2. The insanely terrible bang for the buck a car is. 350k for a car that you sit in traffic in? Bonkers.
IM a bike nut and I honestly did not expect the bike to win. The lambo puts sooo much rubber down tot he ground compared to that Busa. The real secret to the bike winning is due to the low end torque. That is what makes that bike arguably one of the best bikes to drag race. It is low and massive mid-range in that big 1300+cc motor.
Hayabusa is not huge powerful, but due to rear arm lenght she can use that torque and power. Also helps that long first gear. It's equvalent in car terms with an "awd" of motorcycles.
@@peterherrington3300don't get me wrong, i didn't said it has DRAG long arm, but versus other bikes, had a little longer rear arm. And yes i know very well those overall dimensions.

I knew someone who had a silly Lamborghini Diablo VT back in about 1994, he was a car dealer It had some constant brake corrosion issues, and on a drive out, the AA had to be called out, due to binding pads & burning smell During the collection, the AA Driver burnt the clutch out, just trying to drive it onto the back of the Low loader ! So those things are quite fragile Do you know they need a mandatory £14,000 service, every 9K miles ! Yikes !
Throw an X-Tre (powerbox) and a Powercommander-5 and another exhaust on the Hayabusa and it will be a bit faster..Did it also with mine..was truely beast..btw..nice video..liked and subbed..thanx brother ;)

Yes that is true,with equal riders on these two bikes the Zx14r has nearly always has an advantage over 1/4 mile even though the busa has launch control and better electronics all round. There is not much in it but the Zx14r seem to pull that bit harder all the way down the track.

Probably best starting on a 200 - 400cc but if you don't want to a bandit 600/650 would be a great choice. Cheap to buy/insure and has good performance. Or, I think you're American so an sv650 might be easier to come by in America and still a great bike for a beginner.
Don’t listen to anyone else, that bike is touring friendly and comfortable to ride in the city and has usable power, if you have less experience in riding, I’d suggest you to put the bike in rain mode and you’ll be ready
It's not a beginner-friendly bike. A First-time rider will have higher insurance costs. And when you drop it, which you will, it will be an expensive repair job. Don't be stupid.
Actually H2 series are not good in 1/4 mile drags cause of heavy weight,supercharger lag and low torque in low rpm Suzuki always have more torque in lower rpms

That first h2r vs Lamborghini video, the Lamborghini was modified. I'd bet if you got an extended swing arm on the h2r it flips the results of that video.

What a waste of time. The Suzuki Hayabusa would have ANY car for breakfast 👍👍 I owned three Hayabusa’s and no car (or bike for that matter) ever compared in any way in acceleration or outright speed Furthermore even after owning the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja H2 supercharged bike (which may be a little faster in acceleration) isnt as good as the Hayabusa for SUSTAINED high speed & wind protection. In rain you hardly get wet on the Hayabusa proving the aerodynamics is unbelievable, the H2 has not got the same “bubble” of rider wind protection proving the tear drop shape of the Hayabusa cuts through the air better then the H2. In saying that, the H2 is frighteningly fast but no comparison to the venerable Hayabusa 👍
Stock Hyabusa beats a $350k supercar. So, what was the E.T. and speed for the distance? At least the terminal speed. All i know is my FJR w/138 lb. rider has never been beaten by any car.

I love my 02 ‘busa. It’s a great touring bike. I have 140,000 miles on mine and just got back from a trip to California and back.

H2R is very powerful definitely, but what makes me like the Hayabusa better is that the latter is perfectly balanced, which made it win this race.
Yet the busa is still the best choice, with its strong engine and layout, allowing the busa to getting drag racing in the US.

I had one of the first UK 'busas, can confirm third gear acceleration is violent, it lifts and spins up to 150mph before you have to change up again.

Hayabusa's length and launch control system is an advantage over the Ninja H2R... which just can't keep it's front wheel down.

They don't make them anymore because of emissions, probably why the busa isn't over 200bhp .
Have you ever drag raced a ZZR1400? The clutch tends to slip after a few runs.
Quickest bike to 150mph is zzr1400 that beats all.If you leave at 4000rpm you don’t have trouble with clutch

Gen 1 and gen 2 both do - I assume the Gen 3 does as well as it's essentially an identical chassis.
