Really spectacular that you uploaded this rare gem !!!! I managed to find it searching for " Road Runner Modern Lovers" while looking for various versions of Road Runner. I'm a huge fan of The Real Kids too.
I enjoyed this very much... I saw the band many times and helped set up a gig at Boston University around the same time as this gig. A friend saw ML for the first time at BU. He came with me to see them for a 2nd time 7 months later. He was astonished and said: "How could they have come up with so many great new songs in such a short period of time?" I said: "Those are the same songs you heard 7 months ago!" It was just astonishing how much the group had improved in just that short period of time. I have never heard tapes for this latter period of the band, unfortunately. However, a friend of one of the band members had a huge tape deck set up on a table that touched the stage and recorded the two sets. Hopefully, that will one day get released.
I worked with a guy in 1976 who knew Jonathan. We went to a show at Tufts and I got to hang out with the band that night. It was not this group though.
