Can I just say how much I love Mingyu in this album??! T_T It's this particular album where his tone stands out so much to me, especially in Shadow and IF you leave me! His vocals are phenomenal, and I think the melody of the songs highlight his voice soo soo much. Also Dino's rap part in Shadow just blows me away each time, and of course Woozi's genius production of all of these songs. I will not talk about Ash Seungkwan 😵💫

you are SO spot on every time i can't believe it - ash is 100% the culmination of their journey of burning themselves up to become a phoenix rising from the ashes (that then leads to _world directly from this album, burning everything up to create their new world in what hoshi says is a journey to "become the sun, the most influential"). thematically, i think this album is my favorite of all of theirs; every song ties together so incredibly well and takes you on a ride with lyrics so visceral you can almost picture it. the album's concept photos are phenomenal too and also tell a story through versions 1 to 5 - being trapped, escaping, burning up their old lives and becoming free. (and a funny anecdote to finish off: the concept photos with the fire, dokyeom burned off the ends of his bangs while taking those photos LMAO)
Face the sun (or be the sun) was my first ever comeback as a carat and I can say that to this day it is the best album of seventeen I've ever listened to. Musically, it is so diverse in sounds and genre (HipHop, trad, ballads, that 80's feeling.... and so much more !) and so pleasant to hear, and lyrically, well, all the songs have beautiful and touching meaning and are so so so well written. Although I love every single song from this album, I loved the complexity of Shadow, from the lyrics to the melody, nothing misses in the song.
This album is full of strong songs, but my two favorites are the softest ones: 'bout me and if you leave me ❤ 'bout me is probably the seventeen song that makes me the happiest and if you leave me is one of the ot13 songs most full of emotion and vocals. Also, Ash Verkwan and Shadow Dino... doremiz killing it!

The both of you are very endearing and your sweet comments to svt's art and passionate (without being over the top) reactions made me subscribe to your patreon too haha 2nd: This video made me realise once again how I love the way Woozi and Bumzu write. Shadow is just the epitome of their craft, starting with this darkest feeling of self hatred and sending such a meaningful message through a not-overly-cheesy song, I loved it. I love that despite being French and not speaking their language, their lyrics and compositions always get right through me. Sorry for my rambling but I really wanted to highlight their hard work (and Dino's who participated in Shadow, and the other members who take part in the production of many other songs)
The way I literally forgot to breathe when the intro from ASH came on during the concert. I went feral. I LOVE ASH so much. I didn't even think of ASH as a stage, but it stole my soul. Ash and Shadow are two stages that live in my memory for eternity.
I remember them saying how they were really emotional while recording IF you leave me - and that the part on the lyric where it says "Even the time we were apart for just a moment" (16:23) referred to the situation where they couldn't be with Carat for awhile in person during the height of Covid and it broke their hearts, thinking what if they lose us, their fandom, during this time. It was the 3 leaders (with Bumzu) who wrote this immediately with those feelings. It was like they were pleading for Carats to hold on and stay even if they can't see us for awhile, and that Seventeen will always be there for the fandom even with the physical distance. I love this whole album so much from start to finish because it does resonate a lot personally. It is definitely one of my top favorite albums from seventeen as a whole. My top fave tracks would be Shadow, Don Quixote, IF you leave me and 'Bout You. Glad you jumped to this to prep for the concert! Enjoy on the 1st of Nov!

Face the sun is in my top 3 svt albums!! The way every track could've been the title.. is WILD. Woozi finished this up in 4-5 months, like how?! Every song had a story and fit cohesively and sonically within the album. I love how they were not afraid to play with genres and even mix genres on all of these! My favorite songs are if you leave me and 'bout you... 'bout you felt like a kpop Jackson 5 song haha like it makes me so happy and I jam out to this in the car! The sweet vocals and the repetitive rapping are so catchy. IF you leave me.. the call and response?! Can't imagine how difficult it would be to sing this and harmonize with all the beautiful vocal layering going on but they finally performed this live and my entire life was made. UGH. but shadow is a song I hold dear to my heart bc of the message of facing even the ugly parts of yourself that you want to hide. Don Quixote too, bc who cares what other people say? loving this album as a whole is clearly understatement, because i can't even express with my whole element and cell in my body how this album means the whole fucking world to me. one of the masterpiece of woozi. the queen who hold the highest rank with the rightful crown. aside from every songs are bangers, they are soo wekl rounder and become a big picture of one story from the start to finish and i feel like it's the only (if not one of) album that strongly related to each other so well and make it so perfect. not only i'm face the sun carat (i joinded during this era, so it's my first album i listened from them) i also have a very soft spot for this one. my favorite song is shadow and if you leave me. shadow as you know, and as many of us relate to, has that very meaningful lyrics that way too close to home. and if you leave me, MY TRUE QUEEN, i have been begging for so long for them to perform this and it takes them 3 years to finally do it. i cried when they performed it in goyang and i cried again when they decided to strip this song out of the setlist for the rest of the tour. aaaaahh! Shadow's lyrics always gets to me. 'bout you is connected to Adore U they said, where it has lyrics that go "Neoreul noraehae you-hoo". IF you leave me is for Carats and if you noticed it was Leader line who wrote it (with Bumzu). and i love, love, love how they all sang in it. was so happy they sang it in Right here Goyang but sadly it was taken out of the wold tour setlist. My most fave parts of Ash were Seungkwan's one then Vernon's. And you don't know how big i was smiling when Tori was talking about the phoenix coz i was like, YES! YOU GOT IT! YOU'RE SO ON POINT!!! HAHAHAHA! and some found it weird that the album ended in Ash but as you have said it was a very, very fitting ending for the album. We've faced the sun, we've gotten burned and so from the ashes we become new. Woozi/SVT is such a genius!

If I remember correctly, 'Face The Sun' was the first album released after the whole COVID situation. Maybe that's one of the reasons why they would like to make it an all-OT13 album. The promotion time for this album was fun, too. There were 13 trailers '13 Inner Shadows', each describing a member's fear. If you're interested, you can check them out on your own. The highlight medley was made into a mini MV. Love 🤌 They also showed up on 'IU's Palette'. I hope you can react to this one day because their interactions were so cute. It's really hard to choose but I will pick 'Shadow' as my fav on this album. I had the same reaction as you guys when I first listened to it. Tears and goosebumps.
Ok so first i wanna say that I also had same thought for the song March when setlist came out before the song and I also thought that it's the month March and I got so excited because my birthday is in March and when I listened the song and lyrics 😅it all makes sense 🤣 also for shadow you need to watch the Jakarta concert live performance. The song 'bout you actually came out from their debut song Adore u because both have the same catch-phrase "norae norae". Also the song If you leave me is actually a fan song Hoshi said it himself that he cried while he wrote the lyrics because this album came out just after corona, he said how he missed being with fans when he couldn't perform live. The song is literally everything they wanted to portray. And this Album soo good that I can listen to it on loop because there is not a single track that i can skip. 😊 So there's no favourites because all songs are soo different and very good i can't choose 😊
When this album was released, everyone talked about DON QUIXOTE, and I was there crying my eyes out because of SHADOW. I love this song so much. This song also reminded me of when Cheol said he hated himself for running away (talking about not going on stage because of his anxiety and having to go on hiatus). This song will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Shadow is definitely my favorite song of all the albums, the first time I listened to this song it gave me a feeling of comfort that I didn't expect and also made me see things that I didn't see maybe because I found this song at a time when I was feeling that way and they once again helped me, I am very grateful for this song alone there several others like Fallin' Flower
shadow has been my ringtone since its release so i lover so much♡. don't know if you make the connection but 'bout you is so adore u coded and even in the live performance they do a similar move like the adore u choreo. i LIVE for the back and forth of IYLM, cry every time, and you can tell it's a leaders songs😭 Ash being a fan favorite, she's getting her spotlight is so much fun. they debuted them both in Goyang so imagine our surprise. what i love about FTS is that it's a full OT13 album and seeing their evolved sound is emotional. can't believe it's been 2 years😔 can't wait for the next album

Fun fact about 'Bout You! Jeonghan's first line is actually the same as his line in the chorus of Adore U ("So what I'm saying is I wanna know all about you")! Also, Shadow performance is beautiful! As a lot of comments say, the Be the Sun Jakarta performance of Shadow (specifically the one in December) is legendary. And I know Don Quixote is in the first part, but it also has a choreography video and it's glorious! I hope you girls have fun during the concert, it's surely gonna be epic!

loving this album as a whole is clearly understatement, because i can't even express with my whole element and cell in my body how this album means the whole fucking world to me. one of the masterpiece of woozi. the queen who hold the highest rank with the rightful crown. aside from every songs are bangers, they are soo wekl rounder and become a big picture of one story from the start to finish and i feel like it's the only (if not one of) album that strongly related to each other so well and make it so perfect. not only i'm face the sun carat (i joinded during this era, so it's my first album i listened from them) i also have a very soft spot for this one.
my favorite song is shadow and if you leave me. shadow as you know, and as many of us relate to, has that very meaningful lyrics that way too close to home. and if you leave me, MY TRUE QUEEN, i have been begging for so long for them to perform this and it takes them 3 years to finally do it. i cried when they performed it in goyang and i cried again when they decided to strip this song out of the setlist for the rest of the tour. HATE CRIME. 😭✋️

aaaaahh! Shadow's lyrics always gets to me. 'bout you is connected to Adore U they said, where it has lyrics that go "Neoreul noraehae you-hoo". IF you leave me is for Carats and if you noticed it was Leader line who wrote it (with Bumzu). and i love, love, love how they all sang in it. was so happy they sang it in Right here Goyang but sadly it was taken out of the wold tour setlist. My most fave parts of Ash were Seungkwan's one then Vernon's. And you don't know how big i was smiling when Tori was talking about the phoenix coz i was like, YES! YOU GOT IT! YOU'RE SO ON POINT!!! HAHAHAHA! and some found it weird that the album ended in Ash but as you have said it was a very, very fitting ending for the album. We've faced the sun, we've gotten burned and so from the ashes we become new. Woozi/SVT is such a genius!
This is the most cohesive album of SVT like Woozi cooked so hard on this album and the fact that every song is ot13 & a full album, I need them to release a full album when they all finished their enlistment. Full album+ ot13 = perfection

If I remember correctly, 'Face The Sun' was the first album released after the whole COVID situation. Maybe that's one of the reasons why they would like to make it an all-OT13 album.
The promotion time for this album was fun, too. There were 13 trailers '13 Inner Shadows', each describing a member's fear. If you're interested, you can check them out on your own.

Ok so first i wanna say that I also had same thought for the song March when setlist came out before the song and I also thought that it's the month March and I got so excited because my birthday is in March and when I listened the song and lyrics 😅it all makes sense 🤣 also for shadow you need to watch the Jakarta concert live performance. The song 'bout you actually came out from their debut song Adore u because both have the same catch-phrase "norae norae". Also the song If you leave me is actually a fan song Hoshi said it himself that he cried while he wrote the lyrics because this album came out just after corona, he said how he missed being with fans when he couldn't perform live. The song is literally everything they wanted to portray. And this Album soo good that I can listen to it on loop because there is not a single track that i can skip. 😊 So there's no favourites because all songs are soo different and very good i can't choose 😊

When this album was released, everyone talked about DON QUIXOTE, and I was there crying my eyes out because of SHADOW. I love this song so much. This song also reminded me of when Cheol said he hated himself for running away (talking about not going on stage because of his anxiety and having to go on hiatus). This song will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Shadow is definitely my favorite song of all the albums, the first time I listened to this song it gave me a feeling of comfort that I didn't expect and also made me see things that I didn't see maybe because I found this song at a time when I was feeling that way and they once again helped me, I am very grateful for this song alone there several others like Fallin' Flower

Also, Shadow performance is beautiful! As a lot of comments say, the Be the Sun Jakarta performance of Shadow (specifically the one in December) is legendary. And I know Don Quixote is in the first part, but it also has a choreography video and it's glorious! I hope you girls have fun during the concert, it's surely gonna be epic!
