I think they went darkteen with Fear because of the demand from fans, but after Fear, they went back to uplifting music, with Left & Right and then the album Semicolon being about taking a break, enjoying the journey, caring for your mental health... After Fear was also when they started taking their physical and mental health seriously.
7:15 hoshi, jun and the8 ATE. They didn’t get an Mama award (Best performance) with HIT so Hoshi was so mad and their stage. LEGENDARY 26:09 also the Vernon hip swinging move on Fear became THE MOVE when this was dropped, this was his era

I remember after SVT kept dropping these type of darker songs they admitted that it was probably one of the worst times for them (excluding the pandemic since that's a year or two after), so I think it showed through their music as well. No matter what that tough time was I'm just glad they got through that and are still here and complete as 13.

i'm here with fun facts time!!! for "hit" (as well as "getting closer") svt said they have to either start their concerts with the song or have it very early in the setlist, or they won't have the energy to dance the choreo properly any further into the concert! concerts where they have it a little later in the setlist usually omit parts of the choreo (like only dancing the chorus or the latter half of the song). it's often considered to be one of the hardest choreos in kpop; the energy needed for the jumps to stay precise throughout is crazy. they've also said this about "home;run" too a couple times which you'll get to soon! it's less intense but a lot of movement ^^ during "hit" jeonghan never leaves the stage for a breather on the sidelines (other members get this during the duo parts) which is so insanely impressive for the member with the (acknowledged) lowest stamina in the group. as a jjongjjongiefan i am so proud of him 🥹🥹 "fear" is, to this day, svt's only 'true' dark title track ("getting closer" is a lead b-side). woozi has said he thinks the song was ahead of its time and it's genuinely regarded as pretty slept on within caratland. the korean title "독" means poison! you guys are SOOO good at understanding context from the very first watch, like you picked up that they're drinking poison in the "fear" choreo which i've seen go over so many peoples' heads. just one example from this video but seriously you guys are great at noticing little details in choreo and in the music (you always hear the intricacies within the arrangements and the backing/harmonizing vocals too)

HIT is definitely the hardest choreo for them and they mentioned it several time. also if you see a fancam on music show, when some of them went to the side (while the other in the center) they were STRUGGLING. the panted so hard and even bending down and sweating like crazy. they barely even smile during HIT performance because it was so hard. but become one of their iconic choreography as well. and for FEAR, easily my NUMBER ONE favorite title track because of not only the song is good, but the choreo and the music video is masterpiece. too bad that during that era, fear is not really well loved by people. which is soooo weird because it's THAT good. woozi himself said that fear is so ahead of it's time, because had it released in this era it was gonna be more viral and loved.

Personally I prefer this way of doing the MVs/lyrics as I feel that we're more likely to be noticing the same thing. Plus the lyrics are really distracting and tempting when you're not meant to be looking at them.

Hi, i am back. Great reaction, ty. I have heard this one before and did not like it. And now i love it. So catchy. They go wild. The choreo is chef's kiss. They have good vocals. The fits i liked and visuals for sure. Jeonghan bias & Joshua wrecker but i am still a new fan. Wonwoo, Minghao (The8) are coming right behind them. 0.o DK, Woozi ,Vernon, Hoshi are bringing up the rear. Yes, i am OT13. =0p The dance break is awesome. Shows their growth from Clap. I need to note this down. I never remember the MV name but i remember the section, lol. It's not lipstick. I think it's a lip tint or something. =0p Jeonghan was stunning. This MV helped me confirm my bias who i kept following with my eyes on every song MV i saw, lol. An angel just like my Jimin.

for "hit" (as well as "getting closer") svt said they have to either start their concerts with the song or have it very early in the setlist, or they won't have the energy to dance the choreo properly any further into the concert! concerts where they have it a little later in the setlist usually omit parts of the choreo (like only dancing the chorus or the latter half of the song). it's often considered to be one of the hardest choreos in kpop; the energy needed for the jumps to stay precise throughout is crazy. they've also said this about "home;run" too a couple times which you'll get to soon! it's less intense but a lot of movement ^^
during "hit" jeonghan never leaves the stage for a breather on the sidelines (other members get this during the duo parts) which is so insanely impressive for the member with the (acknowledged) lowest stamina in the group. as a jjongjjongiefan i am so proud of him 🥹🥹
"fear" is, to this day, svt's only 'true' dark title track ("getting closer" is a lead b-side). woozi has said he thinks the song was ahead of its time and it's genuinely regarded as pretty slept on within caratland. the korean title "독" means poison!
you guys are SOOO good at understanding context from the very first watch, like you picked up that they're drinking poison in the "fear" choreo which i've seen go over so many peoples' heads. just one example from this video but seriously you guys are great at noticing little details in choreo and in the music (you always hear the intricacies within the arrangements and the backing/harmonizing vocals too)

HIT is definitely the hardest choreo for them and they mentioned it several time. also if you see a fancam on music show, when some of them went to the side (while the other in the center) they were STRUGGLING. the panted so hard and even bending down and sweating like crazy. they barely even smile during HIT performance because it was so hard. but become one of their iconic choreography as well.
and for FEAR, easily my NUMBER ONE favorite title track because of not only the song is good, but the choreo and the music video is masterpiece. too bad that during that era, fear is not really well loved by people. which is soooo weird because it's THAT good. woozi himself said that fear is so ahead of it's time, because had it released in this era it was gonna be more viral and loved.
You can also watch the trailer vid for Hit and if you know the movie Dead Poet Society, thats exactly their concept on that trailer video. It also got me watching that movie after. ITS A GOOD MOVIE. ❤

Personally I prefer this way of doing the MVs/lyrics as I feel that we're more likely to be noticing the same thing. Plus the lyrics are really distracting and tempting when you're not meant to be looking at them.
