The more I watch this stuff I realize how under-rated Roger is. I put him up there with Prince's and Rick James' best stuff. If only everyone could have Prince's longevity.

He did it all of the time! He was usually doing an interview before or flying in to do a session, then going across the street to check on the band rehearsing. Him and his brothers were almost always in suits on a daily basis!
Man Seeing roger navigate in the studio is tight, backing up punching in on the studer analog a800 24 track tape machine is a big task, befor pro-tools, sounds better and fatter than digital, plus operating that minimoog model d with the talk box is a joy. My ultimate favorit synth and own 2. i had the pleasure knowing him, he toured with my father in the 70,80,90s.Very down to earth. Much love roger Engineer and a good D*M musician.

Peter Frampton , Stevie Wonder , Teddy Riley all mastered the talkbox , but like someone said NOONE did it as clear as Roger , Terry and his nephew are about as close as you can get , Johnny Gill once said when in the studio with Rog every take was like a mini concert , he never let his crowd get bored , my all time favorite performer ,
I sure miss the 70's and 80's. Real musicians and real talent. The music was so great, a new generation was able to recycle it and still make hit records with it.

Yep Roger used the Minimoog for a good portion of his career, although he used the DX100 in the last several years before his passing, I don't think he ever shied away from the Minimoog Analog synth
I love Roger...truly a genius when it came to the talkbox. He knew how to work the equipment and how to experiment with it and on top of well funky produced beats...Roger was truly on another level.
here you can see roger is just the king ... he doesn´t care much about his talkbox sound ... roger´s characteristic playing technique and mouthtechnique made him unique ... and not how the most of the talkbox player around the world you all just want to sound like him but can´t play keyboards and don´t feel the harmonies
@Goyokiki Its NOT a Vocoder or Auto Tune (which in a sense are alot alike) Nothing but a microphone and a voice... Roger was the master of the "Talk Box" ... which as you can see here has a tube that goes into your mouth and when spoke into is the pitch of the sound that comes out is controlled by the keys on the keyboard

I wish I could tell you how many hours I've spent trying to figure out how he put those records together. When I started making making beats I pretty much subconsciously used that famous Rodger synthesized bass in lots of my tracks. I'll give you a link to one of them. Thanks for sharing that experience.
there's also part two that I did he just loves Kareem Abdul-Jabbar which I wrote produced and recorded with Roger. i'm trying to get a man to rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame if you have any ideas for that let me know.
