Great video old machinery never die they just wait to be fixed that class how she ran no bother , hopefully I'll do the same to our old leyland same story as that Muir hill never started in twenty years sadly the engine did locked up after water got in but hopefully we will get it running some day
Nice video fellas !! She's a beast.....!!!! Testament to the simplicity of these old machines.....try doing that in years to come with one of these modern tractors after it's been laid up like that !!! 😂😂😂
BOY, what a grizzly looking tractor; i bet that it might even pull the hat off of the jolly green GIANT; but I've never heard of these tractors before 😯
Used to drive one pulling muck spreaders. Quite good fun, but horrible on a rutted track. F@*ked my back up with the bouncing on those tyres and very short wheelbase.
Did you change engine oil before starting? I have no idea how 20 year old oil would look like, but I assume it will be dried up or something as it's not totally sealed in the engine.
Was hoping to see it being started, what a dissapointment then you sit in the yard revving it. Great thing for a old motor that's been sitting a long time
Is this one a rebadged Ford I see some blue under the yellow in the early 80s the rice farmers next to the farm I worked had one with a v 8 Perkins engine that thing would climb places that would make a billy goat sick
Hubert Robinson I’m not sure. It’s looks to have been all blue one time. But it’s an original Muir hill which came with special chassis and dumper from new.
Hubert Robinson The Muir Hill tractors, built in Gloucester, were based on Ford 5000 mechanical parts. The front axle was made by MH with crown wheel and modified pinion from Ford. The cab and sheet metalwork was all MH. The factory closed in 1983 when Winget, Muir Hill and Blaw Knox all went bust because the owners IBH (a German company) were in serious trouble. The 171 had the Perkins 8.540 and was a fabulous bit of kit.

It's a Ford skid unit underneath
If she was a V8 Perkins she would be a 161 or 171 Muir hill
Put it under builden in the dry
Jessie Blanton have done since we got it 👍
Made in?
damianursusc362 1969 originally supposed to have come with special Muir hill dumped. But has gotten lost in time. Can see where they cut the chassis
