HK Army GoPro Mount on Dye i5

- Here is my unboxing and mounting of the HK Army Camera Mount. Overall it looks very nice and I highly recommend it. Its slim, sleek, hardly noticeable (if black) and comes in many different colors. Got it off Amazon (link below) for about $30.
Pros:
Many colors (red looks super sexy)
Tightens GoPro hard and doesn't move
Protects forehead (at the price of a broken GoPro :'( if you happen to get shot in the forehead)
Mounts directly onto Dye i5 (Im sure Dye i4 too - not sure on other face masks you gotta find out)
Amazon reviews says it doesn't fit the Dye i5 but it does, just takes some time to play around to get the holes to align (Check yo self before you break yo self)
Cons:
Need Allen wrench to tight/loosen camera mount (or just go to the local hardware store and buy a Philips screw to fix this)
Hassle to remove/put on GoPro (especially battery swaps) because will need a tool to reach in (Allen wrench or screw driver)
GoPro tighten screw does not fit (wish it did, it would be easier in my opinion to take on/off)

Fits on my dye 5 too man. Good video.
Even though this video was posted a while ago when I attach my gopro to the actual mount it is very loose and I don’t know how to make it tight do you know what is wrong
I’m assuming you probably didn’t tighten the Allen screw hard enough (11:00) I’ve never had issues with mines being loose. Maybe you have a bad screw? If so you can just go buy another at Home Depot/Lowes/Ace and it should do the trick.
@@short21yang mine is loose back and forth and not side to side how do I fix that?
@short21yang I just purchased the GoPro black 11 Mini and I'm having the same issue when I attached the GoPro to the mount the GoPro is loose enough to wear if you're running the GoPro will fall forward or backwards.

does anybody know how to fix this and make it tight enough to where the GoPro stays where you want it pointed?
For me when i mounted it on whenever i would run or walk for a certain period of time it would just point all the way down and i had to keep pushing it up or i didnt even know until i went to see my footage
Refer back to 12:00 on the video. It seems like the mount works fine but the issue is the GoPro mounting/screw. Maybe you didn’t tighten it enough so it’ll cause the camera to fall down and even possibly up too. Tighten up that Allen wrench screw and that should fix the issue.
It still didn't seem to work. I looked in the crevice where i slide in the gopro before tightning and it doesn't look like it fits.
Quick question. Do you think that mounting the go pro on the mask makes the mask heavier and more uncomfortable, I feel like you would need to tighten the mask more and that would hurt your face overtime.
The weight is negligible. I have a GoPro Hero 7 and it’s pretty light. As for fit and need for tightening I have no issues. The Dye i5 has an easy tight by twisting it so it’s also not a problem (at least not for me). The part where the camera mount goes on doesn’t touch or go near the face so it doesn’t hurt either.

I’m assuming it should. I don’t think the 4 and 5 differ that much as of the place were it mounts. For the fitment, you just gotta play with it to like up the holes just like how I showed in the video.

Yo I thinking of buying this, will the stock screw for the gopro work for this? Or is there another one included with the mount?
Rewatch at 10:42 to answer your question. But anyways, no the stock GoPro screw won’t fit (which kind of sucks). They provide a Allen wrench screw with the kit but can be replaced easily by going to your local hardware store. Overall still a good mask and GoPro mounts on good with the screw they provided

@@monte55555 no worries my man, I don’t blame ya! It should, I ordered my off Amazon and what you see in the vid is what I got. I hate the hassle of having to carry around an Allen wrench so eventually I’ll probably swap the screw for a Phillips screw so it’s easier. Because let’s be honest, if your out I. The field and you lost your Allen wrench, it’s gonna be a pain to take off the GoPro. On the other hand, if you don’t have a screw driver, I’m sure there are many people who have them. That’s just my way of thinking. But regardless, the mount is great with this mask you won’t be disappointed
What GoPro do you use?
I have a Hero 7. Works fine with no issues. I can’t say for the older and newer models but I’m guessing they should work too
