When Mr beginning said the two guys "Listen to the coach!" the two other players were actually Raimo "Raipe" Helminen and Raimo Summanen, two true FInnish ice-hockey greats playing themselves.

Summanen and Helminen were both in Finland's first ice hockey world championship gold team in 1995😉

"hey mister referee, it wasnt me, it was the other guy" this slogan became a worn out record back in the day.

The references to Svir (Syväri) and Raattee are from battles against Russia during WWII.

This is from the same movie as the Catch-A-Fish, Kummeli Stories. Kharlamov, Mikhailov and Petrov were the first line of the "Red Machine" (Team Soviet Union and CSKA Moscow) back in the 70's.

Harlamov, Petrov, Mihailov were Soviet Unions most feared line for several years, winning two Olympic golds. Mihailov being voted one of the best players in whole century.

One of the funny things in this is that although it's a 6th division match, the team has many top Finnish players at the time

They went deep with this one.
I like it better when they keep the characters goin, just another sketch.

There was few super starts of Finnish hockey - Helminen and Summanen.

This being the "6th division", the players and coaches would obviously be all kinds of everyday men... :) And I guess that's the whole point. (PS. This sketch is also from the movie "Kummeli Stories" and that's the reason for the excellent production quality.)

Actually the 2 players who mr beginning tells to listen to the coach are 1995 world champions Raimo Helminen and Raimo Summanen. In my opinion the best joke of this clip is the war tactics of Napoleon, hitler and Finland in the raate road because they all ended up losing 😅

    • @ah-lv1gc

Are you stupid? Finland won the battle of Raate

    • @Songfugel

They are also the two players he kicked out later in the skit xD Not only were they members of the legendary 1995 WC team, but they have had lifelong careers at the top of Finnish ice Hockey in the Finnish league as well as the national team.
Of the two Summanen even become a coach after he retired as a player, and even coached the national team for a spurt, and Helminen holds several records in the Finnish league and at the International Hockey World Championships

One way to intepret the Napoleon/Hitler joke as well, is that they both favored rather aggressive warfare, while the coach seems to focus more on defence.

Kummeli made three TV-series which were story driven. Vanaja-series, is the best thing that Kummeli team did (Lihaksia ja Luoteja, Lääkärit tulessa, Jurismia Jurismia). You shoud definedly check those out (if there is subtitled ones)

Drinking alcohol like that is not at all typical or common in any sport, not even by coaches. I don't think it's even allowed, at least not during the game, not even by the coach. But this sketch is very much based on the coach and what the coach does.
