With so much time passing since your last video, I figured something had happened. We're so glad you weren't seriously injured. You need a couple of ramps for that maneuver of the saw into your house. They would come in handy to use to put heavy things into the cabin or your house as well. I hope the blue works out for you, but my thoughts are that the darker the color, the more solar heating will occur. Summer time will be the test on that one. Take care of yourself and please think things through before putting yourself at risk. No more accidents! We want to see more videos over the next 20+ years!
You picked my favorite color, almost tardis blue! 😍 looks great! I’m glad you’re healing, sending you healing prayers.👍🏼👍🏼 for both the cabin and house in the same color.
My take on your color is that the blue that you chose, contrasts with the orange colors of the Arizona desert, perfectly. My 700 sq foot house is yellow, blue, and white trim. I am fond of blue too! Good idea on the paint bucket the attaches to the ladder.
Blue has always been my favorite color....it looks amazing! And it matches the desert sky! Can't wait to see it finished! Glad you are doing better, cracked ribs are no fun....and takes time to heal! Be Safe!
You're an amazing person with an awesome channel. An inspiration to all of us & living your dream. Thank you for taking us on your journey. From a South African viewer this early Monday morning i wish you Happy Holidays 🌍🇿🇦💌🏠🌵💯🔥💙🙏👍
Hey Don..glad to hear you're on the mend. Love the new color and I'd use it on the big house as well. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year !
That's a pleasing shade of blue. Thumbs up. I'd go cheap, and buy whatever color they are selling at discount. Each face of the building a different color. *grins* I'm also glad that your injury was relatively minor and you are healing well. I broke some of my foot bones and 26 months later I am still recovering. Take care.
Thank you for singing just a bit of a real Christmas song! Now, the color of the little cabin: in one of the shots we see it is the exact color of the sky. The color is gorgeous, and the white trim sets it off well. But I hate always having to repaint, and paint peels, and I expect that goes double in the desert sun. And dark (saturated) colors will absorb more heat and therefore blister/degrade faster. But if you were to paint it white, for example, while that color in the summer would refract the sun's rays keeping the cabin cooler, in the winter it would also deflect the sun just when you need it. I guess I'd go to a color in the middle of the saturation range. I would shoot for a neutral blue, halfway between chalk blue and royal blue, if you want to stay in the blue zone. Or I might take my cue from the landscape around me and do a neutral green, brown or gray. Not as much fun, but perhaps less work to upkeep. One of the reasons I prefer stucco on my own home is NO Maintenance, thank God! I was missing you and checking to see if you had uploaded: I am sorry to hear about your cracked ribs. That was painful and no doubt pretty disheartening. Glad you are back and as full of energy as ever. MERRY CHRISTMAS, Don, God bless you, from Patricia/southern California.
Hi Don.Great to see you posting another video, sorry to hear about your accident .I`m just glad that you didn`t fall off of the big boy ladder. The colour of the cabin looks great as blue happens to be my favorite colour .Have yourself a wonderful Christmas and a very productive new year. All the very beat Don.
I do not like it. I mean if it was mine, I would love it LOL Glad to see you back on TH-cam. was fixing to drive from NC to AZ to locate you and make sure you were A O K!
Glad you are recovered. For my little cabin I took some salt brush leaves down to lowes and had them do a spectrogram on them and that is the color I painted. With darker mesquite leave color for the trim. It would be a lot lot of blue on the big house.
Hi there🤗 l am so glad you are ok Don you have to be careful😊 I love the colour, l think your big house would look lovely in this colour. If it makes you happy do it my Friend. 🌲Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year🌲
Mr. Charlie here, Don! You had us all wondering about your wellbeing! So glad you're doing better and pushing forward. I've got three broken, cracked ribs myself and sometimes they let me know their not totally healed, so be careful out there! We're not Spring chickens anymore, but we can still "crow"! I like the blue color! Carpe Diem!
Well, I’m glad to hear that your cracked rib is feeling so much better; cracked ribs are no fun. Make sure that you take time out if you’re starting to feel any pain, because with cracked ribs, there is also ligament and tendon attachments that are involved and they need to heal as well. Having been a painter since 1977 and continue to paint my own home, I have two suggestions. The first is related to outdoor painting with paints that are claimed to be one coat only… since you live in a desert atmosphere with varying ranges of temperature I would advise two coats. When I moved to grass Valley, I had to repaint my workshop outside. I used two coats of exterior primer, followed by two coats of semi gloss exterior. The building looks after six years like it was painted yesterday. The second item you wanted feedback on was about the color. I like simple, off-white, light tans, or very light sky blue like my workshop. I hate to say it Don, but you’re building looks like it’s a perfect target for an artillery barrage. The white trim is acceptable. So, to recap watch how many hours you put in painting so that your tendons and ligaments will heal properly; if you are going to keep the same color, I highly suggest two coats so you don’t have to paint it next year. Hopefully you are using semi gloss at least . God bless Don. See you around the bend. Michael D.
I like the blue. You'll be able to spot your home. The trim I would have painted a light tan. Would remind me of the sky and earth 🌎. Glad you didn't get hurt seriously. You probably taped up and still went camping. Color: 👍👍 Merry Christmas, Happy New Year 🎉. Be safe and God bless.
It depends on weather you want to attract heat or reflect heat. It is the same with the roof color. Also, with the right size overhang you can catch the heat from the low winter sun but be shaded with the higher summer sun. The color looks great . Nice build !
Hi Don! Great to see you! Color is 👍👍! Super job on painting your little home, has such a refreshed look. Sorry you cracked your rib, but accidents happen, we take care of ourselves, then we get back out there to keep living our dreams. I am so happy you made this video, I am always wondering how things are going. I am excited to see what you do in 2025! Keep rocking along Don! Merry CHRISTMAS!!!! Your avid fan, Martha🥰
I like that color blue. Most people think homestead means your trying to blend in or hide your home with tans & greens. A sunflower yellow trim or highlights would be cool looking. Your right on the cracked ribs & nothing they can do. I know because I flipped a bike & cracked 2 ribs in my late 50's. Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!
I missed you and am happy you are ok now after your mishap. I love the paint color you chose. It’s very cheery. I think it would look 👍 on your big home too. Merry Christmas 🎄 Don. Have a great Christmas and see you in the New Year
Don, so good to see you again. You can tell be the comment’s a lot of people were concerned about your well being(including me). 50+ year’s of marriage has taught me to let my wife or other’s pick the colors so all I can say, its your home and I’ll like what ever you decide. Merry Christmas Don and God Bless you this coming year. (be careful)
Believe it or not, I used that color for interior trim in my son's room. The walls are sky blue, matching pretty close to the actual sky in your video. Looks great to me!!!
Come on Don OMG! That was some medication your doctor gave unh?Glad to see you back Don.And was just joking about the meds.(not the paint lol).Take care man!
It looks good, a pretty color. I personally go for house colors that don't stand out from a distance - dark brown, green, etc. But to color things up and make them bright, that's a great choice. Main thing is that you like it! Yeah, cracked ribs are a pain in more ways than one. I bet that put a kink in your camping trip! I don't go to the doctor for that kind of thing, either. Same pain, but fewer medical bills and appointments.
Don, you like it, it is great. Take care of yourself. I fell off of a man lift once and got a concussion, hurt neck and scrapes. I lost my sense of smell, it never came back, that was 11 years ago. After that, I slowed way down.If you are going to be in and out of that, you might want to put a makeshift ramp.
👍 on the color on the tiny house. It is beautiful with the crisp white trim. I believe all structures on the property should be the same color for uniformity. Plus, I just love your color choice. I am glad to see you are doing better. Sorry you were hurt, but I'm so glad you have recovered. It is so good to see you back on your projects. We missed you!
First of all Don, glad you're recovering from those cracked ribs. Now you can laugh or sneeze without the pain!! 😅 As for the color, I am a more of an earth tones person myself, but I know you're a birder, and birds come in all kinds of colors and the brighter, the more beautiful, so choose the color that moves your spirit. You will always get a thumbs up from me!! 👍
Kate is happy you used her color... I prefer a neutral color like beige myself. Glad you are feeling better. be safe and happy... have a Merry Christmas.
Looks good Don. I prefer Sico 123 exterior stain Teak color. It is expensive, but finishes like a plastic coating. Most cottages and homes here in Cottage country use it. The best part, is it lasts a long time and is very durable. Google cottage country NS Canada for examples.
I was wondering where you had gotten to Don. Add some big thick gym mats to your wish list so should you fall ... I wasn't sure I liked the blue, but using the white paint for doors/window trim changed my mind. Only thing I would of done different is painted your house vertical corner trim white too. Merry Christmas and stay safe.
I really like earthtone colors, but of course I’m not going to be living in it. It’s all your domain and you should paint it whatever color you want 😎 please be careful!!
It doesn't matter what I think of your color choices. The perfect color is the one you like. Given that, I would not have chosen Kate's Ring and white. I would have picked my favorite bird and picked colors based on that.
We all have different tastes and the blue does stand out. Because of where you are located I would have picked a lighter blue to get less solar gain in the summer. I think more of the trim of the building should be white to break up the fields of blue. Of course you can get shade cloth and use it to shadow the building sides in the summer. For myself a light almond with white trim would look sharp and have lower heat gain in the summer.
It’s your house, u can paint it any color you like.
The color is beautiful. I love the white trim. 💕💕💕💕
So glad you're doing better. The only opinion that matters is yours. Enjoy your home! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Looks good Don - install a wood stove when you can buddy!
Glad to hear your okay. Merry Christmas.
Love the color!

So glad you're back! Hopefully those ribs are healing nicely! I do like the color. Thumbs up on the color
My take on your color is that the blue that you chose, contrasts with the orange colors of the Arizona desert, perfectly. My 700 sq foot house is yellow, blue, and white trim. I am fond of blue too!
Good idea on the paint bucket the attaches to the ladder.
I'm not saying that color is too bright or anything but we can see a blue hue on the horizon from Denver... :):);)
At first, I went Wow; but then it grows on you. Whatever color makes you happy that's important. Merry Christmas. Stay healthy.🎉
Glad you're back! I would've picked a desert tone for color
Agreed ...dark color in the desert amplifies heat
Blue has always been my favorite color....it looks amazing!
And it matches the desert sky!
Can't wait to see it finished!
Glad you are doing better, cracked ribs are no fun....and takes time to heal!
Be Safe!

Love the color! Thanks Don. Glad you're on the mend.
Nice color but the sun will fade it out very quickly also the dark color will draw heat
Hey Don..glad to hear you're on the mend. Love the new color and I'd use it on the big house as well. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year !
Air Force blue....I approve. Glad the fall wasn't more serious. Be careful!!
You did a nice job painting. I am glad it makes you happy. I hope you heal and do not get hurt again.
Glad you back and OK! Great color!
Happy to see you again 👍
It’s beautiful and we missed you 😊

Perhaps we can ask for Don to sing a whole Chistmas song as his Christmas gift to his subscribers. What do you think, Don?
Looks great, Don. Thanks for your informative and entertaining work.
I'm with many of the others, it's your home, your choice. Blue is great. Seasons greetings. Take care.
Awesome, Blue is .y favorite color, easy to see in the Desert.
Looks great 👍
I love it. Blue is my top Favorite Color and that is beautiful. Great Choice. ♥
Hi Don.Great to see you posting another video, sorry to hear about your accident .I`m just glad that you didn`t fall off of the big boy ladder. The colour of the cabin looks great as blue happens to be my favorite colour .Have yourself a wonderful Christmas and a very productive new year. Glad you weren't too seriously hurt Don!! Your house look great -- blue is my favorite color too! 😀 Blessings filled Christmas to you!
blue is my favorite color....YES, blue on the big cabin as well!
Excellent color. The desert is very drab, the house will pop..
The Blue looks good to me. And glad to hear from you.
I do not like it. I mean if it was mine, I would love it LOL Glad to see you back on TH-cam. was fixing to drive from NC to AZ to locate you and make sure you were A O K!
You might want to keep the larger home neutral. Blending into your surroundings is a good thing, being by yourself in the desert. 😊
Totally agree on the camouflage tip. @LJ.-ue5yj
I have this colour in my living room! It's a very good choice 😊
Glad you are recovered. For my little cabin I took some salt brush leaves down to lowes and had them do a spectrogram on them and that is the color I painted. With darker mesquite leave color for the trim. It would be a lot lot of blue on the big house.
You've done a lovely job, love the colour (blue is my favorite colour) and the white trims really sets it off.
Hi there🤗 l am so glad you are ok Don you have to be careful😊
I love the colour, l think your big house would look lovely in this colour. If it makes you happy do it my Friend.
🌲Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year🌲

Like the blue color, I would use it. Remember though, dark colors absorb heat, lighter colors reflect light better.
Welcome back Don anyway that color would be a hit in Newfoundland or Greece and if you like the color thats all that maters.
Good to see ya again! Making good progress-
Lake Havasu 🌞 Az
Looks great.
Beautiful colors 😊
The color on the little cabin looks great Don. Merry Christmas and all the best in 2025.

I'm glad to see you're well now. I was worried. Love the blue paint, looks great against the blue sky. Merry Christmas ⛄ from NY state
Keep it light so the sun doesn’t heat it up
Believe it or not, I used that color for interior trim in my son's room. The walls are sky blue, matching pretty close to the actual sky in your video. Looks great to me!!!
That's a beautiful paint I like it. Hope it keeps the summer heat down and sorry about your accident.
Come on Don OMG! That was some medication your doctor gave unh?Glad to see you back Don.And was just joking about the meds.(not the paint lol).Take care man!
I would do a pale green because its my favorite, but its your house and you do what you like! Happy Holidays
It looks good, a pretty color. I personally go for house colors that don't stand out from a distance - dark brown, green, etc. But to color things up and make them bright, that's a great choice. 👍the color is great.👍
Love the color. Well chosen. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
I like the blue, and I think the property would look nicer if the building were matching color schemes.
I think I would have gone with more of an earth tone. Not crazy about the blue.
Merry Christmas ❤😊 Happy New Year 🎉
Paint you new home classic barn red. Personally I like light brown or tan but the blue looks great against the sky.
Don, you like it, it is great. Take care of yourself. I fell off of a man lift once and got a concussion, hurt neck and scrapes. I lost my sense of smell, it never came back, that was 11 years ago. I like it we do white and blue trim in New Mexico helps reflect the sun to keep the home cooler but I like the blue
Looks Awesome👍👍Merry Christmas🎄🎄
good onya Don.
I cracked my ribs playing footy 35 years ago, still hurts a bit
I'm partial to light colors in a hot environment. Just to reduce cooling load. Especially the roof.
My white house is trimmed in just about that blue.
Blue is my favorite color, but out where the temperature is high most of the time , I think a light color would work better . 😊

Great job Don, hope you have a great Christmas on your side of the mountain. It will be just another work day on the homestead for me.
With that color, aren’t you scared of the stalkers finding you?
It's a cool color Don
Good to see you back Don , All the best from outback Western Australia
I live in the AZ desert, too. Maybe, check temperature of the painted surface using an infrared thermometer.
Blue and ring together reminds me of a blue ring octopus.
😊great!!!
Sane blue as my house it reminds me and the neighbors of a beach home
nice color
