I always get overly excited to see Jamie pack for a roadtrip, like "Ohh should I pack my toothbrush as well or should I get one at our destination? I might want to bring my hair dryer, the nicer one, so we all can share…I hope sister Sarah's coming along with us!" etc. Then I imagine myself sleeping in the van in a deep woods! Very therapeutic. Thank you Jamie for always taking us with you guys! ☺️💙

The big statue you passed on the A11 near Thetford, is a war memorial to British and American airmen who died in WWII.
It's actually WW1, but one side of pillar was later dedicated to the lives lost in WW2. I didn't know until I just looked it up, but the reason it's in that particular spot in Elverden is because it's where the borders of the 3 local district parishes all briefly meet. I always thought it was to mark the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

Dogs are always hungry, but also when you share some food with them, it's a bonding thing, it shows them that you consider them part of the pack, important enough to share your precious food with. Dogs evolved to survive in packs, and sharing food reassures their primal survival concerns. Just like people, dogs need to feel a sense of belonging.

The end of the video proves that Jamie does not own cats. Mine get me up anytime between 4am and 5.30 to feed them (cat biccies) and by 6am the female is beating up her cardboard boxes in my bedroom as a declaration that it is high time to arise, also meowing up and down the corridor to the living room, while the male gives a yell in sympathy at intervals. But Sherps - not a single woof. What a gem he is.

@09:25 That random statue is (courtesy of Wiki)....The Elveden War Memorial is a war memorial initially erected to the First World War dead. It is situated at the meeting of the three parishes of Eriswell, Icklingham and Elveden to which the monument honours. The names of the dead of each parish are listed separately on three of the sides of the column's base. To the original First World War listings there are also Second World War additions. The fourth (NW) side has a locked door that is used to access the inside of the column and via a spiral staircase to get to the upper parts of the monument. Small slits in the column's sides are used to light its interior and can be easily seen from the outside. It is a Corinthian column 127 feet (39 m) tall, made of Weldon Stone and surmounted by an urn of Portland stone. Edward Cecil Guinness, owner of Elveden, commissioned the architect Clyde Francis Young to design and build the column which took 2 years to erect and was completed in 1921. It was listed in 1954 and is now a Grade II* listed structure. War monuments of this type and height are rare and it is thought that the design was inspired by the 120 feet (37 m) Coke Column or Leicester Monument which is located at the relatively close Holkham estate in Norfolk. Perhaps in an act of one-up-manship, the Thetford monument is slightly taller than its close by companion but out of tact is shorter than Nelson's Column in London (144 feet (44 m). It is close to the A11, where there is a lay-by which can be used to visit the site.

I thought I commented on this when I saw it but guess not. You sure do go with the flow Jamie. I would have been freaking out about the fuel. I would say Sherpa loves you 11 out of a 10. Hello Jamie & Sherpa! I love how you ask Sherpa how much he loves you & he replied back "a million!" 😄 He even seemed to check out the view off the wrap around deck first comparing it to home. Lol. I wonder which of the places you've travelled to is Sherpa's favorite. I'm sure he slept outside your door because he was thinking, "Sister Sarah is supposed to be sharing the other room with me, but I'll sleep next to dad instead." Sweet Sherps❤ Glad you found fuel. Fuel isn't scarce where I live in the states. It's just pricier these days.
Love how Lord Sherpa inspects the place. Yes he is happy as long as he is with you. You are definately HIS hooman. He knows the routine well. You might as well put his bed outside your door because that is where he will sleep when you are away from home.

I'm new to this site, and I don't know anything about You Jamie. All that time You give to Sherpa, makes me think that You have to be single. At one time, when You bought the new mini car, You mentioned a daughter. If You are not alone, I think You must be the most fantastic, amazing person, to give as much of You as You do, to Your dog. I love it. I'm livlig alone,and I use all my sparetime with my dog,so I fully understand You. My dog, a Border Collie, turning 11 in October, is my best friend and I give him all the love and time I can. My best wishes to You and Sherpa. Love you guys😘🤗.

Another road trip with Sherpa and Jamie - yay! Simple, yet sufficiently prepared with a few luxuries, like Starbucks and sausage rolls. The gods smile on you regularly, be it Sherpa's health, timing the snow in Scotland or finding petrol for an Easter road trip, with Starbucks at the second one, and being allowed an early check-in at the lodge. Triple header today alone (last three), an auspicious start to the road trip, indeed. Must be all that clean living and the smiles you bring to the rest of us around the world. Well done on the lodge: private parking at the unit, no steep stairs, private garden, quiet, clean, safe, spacious, easy maintenance and comfortable. All bases nicely covered. Gotta love how Sherpa chooses a position to be close to you, yet near a door for outs and protection. He's such a good boi! Happy Easter adventure, boys!
