And I KNEW it was tearing him up inside because he's a guy who gives everything he has on the court. JULIUS HAS ACTUALLY TAKEN DISCOUNTS AND TEAM FRIENDLY deals that’s the first and biggest sign of someone who wants to REALLY win. I hope the knicks see how important he really is and not trade em or anything. Julius needs to fit in as well and play well but they gotta give em a fair chance. Other players all claim they wanna stay with a certain team and that they wanna win but then they leave for more money else where. The most recent example from a long list: Paul George.

  • @stephennixon9609

This is why I changed my thoughts on Julius and why the Knicks absolutely need him. He's going to come back strong next season because he sees where this team is headed and they know to get where they want to go he has to play. All this nonsense talk about trading him is the dumbest no nothing shit I've ever heard. No one can give them 24pts 10rb and 5asts a game and he gives them a toughness they were lacking in the playoffs especially against the Pacers. They need him to be Julius next season and if he's fully healthy we can make the NBA Finals.

Melo is being sensitive, ICO was a big part of the game, the beloved difference and need was the ones who could pass out of the ICO sometimes to take advantage of the double and tripple teams.
it was the also what made floor setters like Magic, Stockton, Price, and then Kidd then CP3 so important, cause they naturally moved the ball to get everybody on the floor with them in there scoring rythm and enrgized to play both ways and to be on the move on the O' side instead of standing around waiting for a play call, waiting to R, or waitng to get the ball for an ICO.
It was on this side of the 2000's when more PG's inspired by Kidd, and training in college, inspired by whoever hired Rod Strickland as an asistant. And also read and react coaches, they demanded easy basketball, meaning pass to the open man, D hard, get out on the break as much as possible, ball and body movement in the half court.
Melo was getting burned cause when he wasnt on a scoring team, he would just ICO play after play, and wouldn't DO ANYTHING ELSE 🤷🏾‍♀️ So the announcers would burn um, when we srill had real reporters and analysist, they would burn um cause he wouldn't do anything else, and wouldn't get anybody else off with two and a third D man attending to him.
See, this is the problem with all of this podcasting ####, celebrities get to write the storyline of thetr choice, and nobody is fonna xhallenge them, like this episode.
And lets be real, Melo was became horrible in NY, he would work a tripple team out on the elbow, with all those open men on his side. But e was the legend among a bunch of young players, and he use to buy um s##t. writting his own narrative 🤦🏾‍♀️

From a leadership standpoint, I'm disappointed in how much he made his injury about him and what he couldn't bring to the team physically... Looking back at Giannis on the Bucks sidelines, coaching, yelling, and giving guidance is what you were supposed to do as a teammate and a leader. He's a champion and he can do it so what's your problem???? Being present and giving knowledge, coaching, showing up, being proud in the moment, of your guys doing well, would've meant more than you playing and having your best games ever on the court...I saw the games you did attend and you had a cara de caca the whole time... RBF... this interview really cements how I feel about him on the Knicks roster... As great as he is, if his mind isn't right, he's a liability for us... the success of the team has everything to do with your attitude, whether you are on the court or off the court... Your positive attitude would've been better for health than a negative one... If your mentality doesn't change, you are going to be a problem...

He's always had star potential, most people just were blind to it, because it didn't look pretty. I was one of the few Laker fans that saw it, and I predicted he'd make 10 all-star games, because he's got a very rare combination of speed, ball handling, physicality, and touch around the rim. Luke Walton and his politics is why we couldn't get this Randle on the Lakers. Matter fact, one year we did get this version of Randle for 4 months after Christmas break, because everyone got injured, and Luke had no choice but to give Randle minutes and touches. Randle went on to average 24 ppg 10+rpg and 5ast per game in that 4 month span, and only 4 other players at the time were averaging that or better...Westbrook, LBJ, Boogie Cousins, and Aldridge (I think). Even when Julius was cooking, Walton tried to act like BI was the reason Randle could score, and when Lonzo came back, Luke tried to force the Warrior's offense, which is a great offense, onto the Lakers, but tried to diminish Randle to Draymond role, which Draymond is great, but Randle does so much more, and Luke tried to make the scoring run through BI and Lonzo, as if they were Curry and Klay, and we started losing again. So now 6 years later, we see Julius can ball and Luke can't coach, so we know why Julius was held back in LA, because Luke Walton came in with a philosophy that was good, but Luke didn't know how to properly apply it specifically to the Lakers talent, trying to force a square peg into a circle hole.

Knicks then extended him for the most money allowed under the CBA. Randle would have had to become a full free agent to have a CHANCE to make more money than he got extended for. As we've seen, Randle hasn't ended any season looking like a max player. 2 horrible playoff performances, 2 times falling outside the top 10 in the conference, and once watching his team have more success without him than they ever had with him.

Gotta give him credit, he's trying HARD to stay in NY. The fans seem to generally have his back. However, it's pretty clear the team is better off without him. Yes, I'm a Knicks fan. Yes, since the 90's. No, I don't hate Randle. I wish him the best on his journey. However his journey does not include being a Knick and winning a chip. If he opts in to the final year of his deal, he has about 1.5 years left (max) as a Knick. Leon would be a fool to re-sign Randle to the Knicks. He's better off on a bad team where he can still get his empty 25 points and his 30M per year.
Extending Randle would guarantee the Knicks never win a title with Brunson. Randle is not a complimentary scorer. He gets his 24 points by taking a ton of bad shots, avoiding playing defense, and turning the ball over like he's doing it on purpose. And that's when he's at his very best. The pouting when he doesn't get his numbers, the temper tantrums, and choking in the playoffs make him even more of a liability. Randle only cares about getting his numbers. That can work if you are going from a bad team to a mediocre team, but no team has EVER won a title with somebody like Randle on the squad.

    • @xswish13x
      @xswish13x หลายเดือนก่อน +3

The team is NOT better off without him lol The Knicks played their best when the whole team was healthy. Without him there is waaaay too much on Brunson shoulders to generate offense. Idk how you could possibly thing they are better off without him lol 14-2 In January with him playing easily the best they looked the whole season.

@@xswish13xWell, one, Randle only played 14 games in January. The team was 12-2 in those games. Randle averaged 3.8 turnovers in those 14 games, which would have been 3rd in the league.
Randle was not the reason the team did well in January. A weak home heavy schedule and OG Anunoby were the reasons for the hot streak.
12-2 in January with OG and Randle...but the team was 14-2 with OG and NO Randle. Randle, no Randle, didn't matter. The team played well with OG. Randle is just a statpadder who is lucky to play for Thibs and the best NBA fanbase. Philly literally wants to put hands on Tobias Harris for his playoff performances. Randle's playoff performances have been WAAAY worse.
The best season the Knicks have had since Randle got to the team came with him spending the last half of the seasom in street clothes. That's a literal fact. Nobody was talking about the Knicks as contenders until the Randle-less Knicks inspired the NBA world.
Randle, of course, really wants to stay. Where else can he take as many shots as he wants regardless of how many shots he misses, how many turnovers he commits, or how poorly he plays defense? Thibs has allowed Randle to pretend to be a superstar.
Bro is a 30 minute per game mid level exception guy anywhere else. No team has ever won a championship with a player like Randle.

The thing is, Randle gets his 24 points and 5 assists by being an inefficient statpadder. He shoots below league average from everywhere and turns the ball over a ton. He also doesn't play defense.
