They could identify a flaw that may save lives in the future....we investigate to prevent future tragedies and identify all the seen and perhaps some unseen factors that contributed. There is almost always a chain of events and not one singular event that cause accidents like this that need to be understood
Its sad to see her depart out of water and travel onto the road without a successful voyage..i hope this never happens again😔to me it seems an avoidable circumstance..they stretched these boats like they do with limousines just to get more people on board to make more money..sad😔
BB Fan exactly😢but as its known the side skirts were down, drivers window was up, roof on top..only way out was the back😔so even if pfds were on it was still a deathtrap😔
These are not Boats...we are using them for something they were never designed for. The concept is interesting, but they should never be used in commercial marine applications. They were designed as ship to shore for our military decades ago.
why the hell were there people taking pictures of the boat getting on the road on the side of the entrance that about made me blew my top...But other wise i don't know how i feel about it i mean i like the ducks but there safety procedures were flawless
This duck sinking is certainly. A tragedy people die everyday playing sports, in cars ,planes and trains motorcycle ATVs yet no one says to stop those things Ride the Ducks have had safe excursions for years Let the ducks be available if you choose not to ride it's your choice but those who want to should have that option I personally along with family and friends have rode them at least 8 times
And sadly how I see it is that the boat itself looks sad knowing that it failed it's job to do one thing that is always the sad part about machines and vehicles when something bad has happened to them they just have that look and some people on that boat will never forget that look it shows
Celeste Stevens This is the first time something ever happened to the one in Branson. With this specific duck boat tour company, there has only been two other accidents. One was in the water and struck by a barge where the barge operator was deemed responsible for the incident. The second happened in Seattle on the road, something that happens to cars all over. That being said I don't see them being able to recover from this incident. This incident killed so many, had so much attention brought to it, and the fact that they were even open on a day with severe storm warnings and sold tickets that close is all very much going to hurt the company. If it stays open, it'll be very awkward. I rode the ducks at the same location and same route just 3 weeks before the incident happens. It's really bothering to think of this even moreso with the memory of my experience so fresh in my head. I never really realized how poorly designed these boats were in regard to safety.
They must pack people in that duck boat like sardines, to get that many people on board, All about money, if you think about the weight of the duck boat, plus the weight of the people no wonder it sank in those conditions;(
The only people that died were not physically fit so that's just nature weeding out the weak sad yes but a part of life accidents happen to those who are careless.
What a tragic sight to see the boat taken away empty with so many lives lost.... RIP 😪
Shannon Fields 8
Shannon Fields it’s just so sad
😢😢😢😢😢😢🥵
I wouldn't take my family on that piece of shit for nothing in the world!!!! Those boats need to be demolished... RIP to all the victims.
Like a funeral procession
Bureaucrats need to investigate what? There is a video showing that the duck filled with water in bad weather conditions, case closed.

such a tragedy, may they all rest in peace...

b xpress6 it’s so sad seeing them lift the boat and seeing all the life vests that would have saved all those lives
BB Fan exactly😢but as its known the side skirts were down, drivers window was up, roof on top..only way out was the back😔so even if pfds were on it was still a deathtrap😔
They didnt stretch the boats. They are refurbished military amphibious vehicles. But they are really old and the design is flawed...
Yea well the captain also said they didnt need life preservers, so what does he know?
The whole incident is so sad. I've rode on these several times over the years. Hope they can continue with new safety measures in place.

Chris Lawrence that's right! Short landings on beaches not for crossing vast areas of water, dumb asses
You are 100% correct, even in it's military use it was an unstable craft.
Wow u learn something new every single day.
George Washington yep you made my point exactly ship to shore not excursion craft
My cousins where at silver dollar city during the ducks sinking.
How’d they get the water out
WHY ISN'T IT COVERED UP DURING TRANSPORTING IT
Tamara Hickman why would it need to be covered up? It’s just a square metal frame with windows.
Tamara Hickman probably its empty.
Tamara Hickman I would assume they recovered all the bodies prior to removing it from the water
Still it is evidence and should be covered up to protect the evidence so nothing is broken / fallen off going down the road from wind.
just wondering if anyone know that the weather would be bad on that day ? and if so why did they hit the water?
why the hell were there people taking pictures of the boat getting on the road on the side of the entrance that about made me blew my top...But other wise i don't know how i feel about it i mean i like the ducks but there safety procedures were flawless
Looks like where it's ripped is where some were able to escape but the front of the boat on the left looks covered. That was a trap! This so sad!
Hugs of healing to the families.
Is all the bodies out of the water
I was here at ride the ducks on July 4 1990 I was about 5years old.my first vacation I loved it I pray for the familys of is tragedy god bless

Ban these boats!
tinaloveseddie No. people can still ride them if they choose. You can choose to get an abortion but not take a duck boat ride?!
Forgive them they tried getting them out and it wasn’t there fault, the storm came in unexpectively

I have rode one before and it almost sunk
Emily Romano where were you riding it?
So sad love this ride hope they survive this
And sadly how I see it is that the boat itself looks sad knowing that it failed it's job to do one thing that is always the sad part about machines and vehicles when something bad has happened to them they just have that look and some people on that boat will never forget that look it shows
Well, I was at a roller skating rink facility during the boats sinking.
It’s sad because I’m in Branson right now and I have ridden the boats many times before
Missouri will need to find another source of income. There needs to be a public protest of these vehicles.

Look at all those unused life jackets
Can't believe they went out in those waves! Dumb, dumb, dumb!

I WAS GOING TO GO ON IT AT IS BUT I SAID I WAS HUNGRY SO I DID NOT SO I WOULD OF DIed
this actually makes me wonder who actually won the law suit?
Capitalism vs. Intelligence, capitalism won. The ignorant lost.
