My grandfather passed away many years ago from a drowning accident, he never learned how to swim and accidentally fell into deep water while working at his ranch. At the time, my grandmother was very sick and was told she had 3 months to live. My granfather had prayed and wished they'd die together, and I'm sure he didn't want her to die before him. So, after he passed, my grandmother still lived about 5 more months. Grandma used to say that she knew she was going to die soon because he had come to tell her it was time to come with him and she needed to let go.
I almost rode one one these boats in Pittsburg not too long ago....even with no storms it look as though it drafted low in the water....and i had 2nd thoughts...

This wasn't about the life jackets. The driver could not get the top off the boat in the wind, & it came on so quickly no one was prepared. With the top still on, everyone would have to go to the front of the duck to get out. If the victims had their life jackets on it would only have taken them to the ceiling of the boat. A sail boat also went down right before this accident & the media is not saying anything about that- just how bad the duck boats are & they should be done away with, blah, blah, blah. i live in Seattle, where the Ducks have been responsible for other fatal accidents with mass casualties, and they MUST BE STOPPED and PAY FOR THEIR CRIMES.
...it's the boat owner's responsibility for assuring the passengers safety. #1, the storm was accurately forecast...#2, life jackets were provided on the boat, but none were wearing them, the crew were (criminally?) negligent in not insisting the passengers don them at the outset of the heavy weather.

Always wear life vests even though they don’t look cool but who the hell cares. Last time we went on a water tour in Florida my kids and I wore the life vests. That boat should have never been on the water to begin with. Multiple severe weather warnings had been issued for the area and the captain still decided go out on the lake.

...it's the boat owner's responsibility for assuring the passengers safety. #1, the storm was accurately forecast...#2, life jackets were provided on the boat, but none were wearing them, the crew were (criminally?) negligent in not insisting the passengers don them at the outset of the heavy weather.

I read a few comments in regards to the moment she said she wants to give a shout out, I for not 1 second took that as a crazy moment but more so a woman who needs time to grieve and is showing clear shock. Words don’t seem to flow when your hit with something of this magnitude. I am praying for her because In her time of solitude her strength will truly need to be present. I can’t imagine her pain.

I have children and I'm blessed with a wonderful partner in life and I really cannot imagine a day without them, my heart hurts for her but I pray that God will get her through this because as she said that is number one and regardless of what you believe I hope that you have it in you to put everything else aside and just feel for this woman and let the rest go and put it all in God's hands because for her to sit and talk even takes more strength than most people have in their whole lifetime. Were you to grasp the context of the comment you would understand that I am referring to her mental and emotional strength.
I will try to simplify my comment:
After such a horrific experience it is incredible that she can stand before news reporters and painfully give an eye witness account as to what transpired.
Most people (likely including yourself) would not possess the fortitude to be able to do this, ESPECIALLY if they just lost the majority of their family!
That being clearly stated, my point (wait for it) was that none of the other survivors have had the emotional strength (not PHYSICAL strength as in being able to dog paddle) to come forward and relive the experience under the pressure of a multiplicity of news reporters asking them various questions.
I hope this helped you understand English better and more importantly, allowed you to reflect on your insensitivity as to the gravity of her pain!

Dan Mills yes that is true and she stated that also that she was floating in the water. Her poor kids they were trapped below. Always wear life vests even though they don’t look cool but who the hell cares. Last time we went on a water tour in Florida my kids and I wore the life vests. It takes a min to put them on and doesn’t hurt anything or captain also said they were optional.
