One thing i like about Eurovision is that they have minimal effects on the sounds and autotune or whatever is not allowed. In the early days they even had a live orcestra to help. Loreen is very good, she had backup singers in this and you can hear that but Loreen pulled the heavy loads of this song.
Loreen smiling at 1:15 and 3:51 was genuine because she was overwhelmed being the favourite most likely winner beforehand, she was overrun by emotions.
Fun fact: at 6:06 when she missed the note it was actually one of the snow particles she inhaled and when she redid it again when she won she had the snow put behind her so it wouldnt happen again.
Euphoria is (IMO) one of the best ever Eurovision performances. The thing is, it was ground-breaking at the time. Prior to this, Eurovision contestants basically gave a stage performance. Euphoria signalled a new direction for performances by basically being a music video, performed live on stage. Since then, many entrants have done this, and Sweden basically has it down to a science.
I think this is a bit of a overstatement. a lot of acts in last decades ware actually criticised for being just music video instead of a live performance. Also Euphoria was nothing special when it comes to act it self if you remove the amazing vocals and song. Ruslana was far better in that regard and in my opinion is still the best act so far. Ruslana has left it all on that stage! her hart, her soul, ten years of her life and portably her voice. We can probably argue till forever which song is better. but performance wise Ruslana with Wild Dances is in a league of its own. Period!

Eurovision gets a lot of flack for being a bit silly and campy but there are SO MANY great singers and performances out there. One I would highly recommend you check out is Australia's entry from 2019, Kate Miller-Heidke's Grand final performance of "Zero Gravity". Now, she can sing! And her performance makes her singing just a tad bit more impressive. ;)

The funny thing is that I heard this song on the radio and fell in love with it. It wasn't until the canal pride that year that I realized it was a Eurovision song. A prime example of a deserved winner, thing song is sooo epic!
OMG OMG OMG I havent even watched the video yet edit: I love that you can appreciate her as an artist, not just a singer, and talk about her singing techniques. The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is basically the biggest televised music program in the world, where different European nations and a few others compete against each other. Only two people have won it twice, Johnny Logan for Ireland and now Loreen for Sweden, as she won this year again. She competed with the song Tattoo and I think you should really react to the Grand Final performance of that song too.

Just have to comment on the breathing thing that you noticed. She said in an interview that this performance is very technical and that she needs to remember exactly where to breathe or it'll "destroy the harmony" or she wouldn't be able to keep singing it the way it's supposed to be. She wasn't supposed to breathe in between that "Euphoria" making it "Eupho-ria", exactly as you described it. You were alert to hear that, I just thought it was cool 😄 this is a live performance so it just happened that way, but yeah, she knows it sounds better the way you wanted it. Interesting fact about this particular performance Tara, and an answer as to why she took that "breath" at the end where you wish she wouldn't, I remember an interview with her right after this and she actually got these cotton particles stuck in her throat during the performance, those things flying around for dramatic aesthetic effect, she got them lodged in her throat and actually kind of had to cough violently, but she managed to suppress it somehow (how though?) and still pull through and sing the song masterfully till the end. Now you know this, isn't she an amazing performer and vocalist?? my god what an absolute gung ho talent that woman is

If you want to go down a Eurovision route, it makes sense to start with the winners. While I need to give a shout out to every Irish winner (most wins of any country, including a 3 year win streak), I have to suggest my favourite winning performance; Lordi (representing Finland) singing Hard Rock Hallelujah. My mind was BLOWN. I saw them perform live in a tiny venue (200 people max) a few years ago and it is one of the best shows I have ever been to.

The funny thing is that I heard this song on the radio and fell in love with it.
It wasn't until the canal pride that year that I realized it was a Eurovision song. A prime example of a deserved winner, thing song is sooo epic!

You have to react more of Loreen. I think she is one of those singers, who really use their voice as an Instrument. And she does it in a way, you only can describe as Art!

The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is basically the biggest televised music program in the world, where different European nations and a few others compete against each other. Only two people have won it twice, Johnny Logan for Ireland and now Loreen for Sweden, as she won this year again. She competed with the song Tattoo and I think you should really react to the Grand Final performance of that song too.

Watch Eurovision Song Contest 2023 when she wins the second time with Tattoo. The second singer ever to win ESC twice and the first female to do so! Euphoria was amaaazing but Tattoo is out of this world. She is a creature, an entity from another sphere 🤩🤩🤩 pick the clip after she has won the competition and really lets go

Just have to comment on the breathing thing that you noticed. She said in an interview that this performance is very technical and that she needs to remember exactly where to breathe or it'll "destroy the harmony" or she wouldn't be able to keep singing it the way it's supposed to be. She wasn't supposed to breathe in between that "Euphoria" making it "Eupho-ria", exactly as you described it. You were alert to hear that, I just thought it was cool 😄 this is a live performance so it just happened that way, but yeah, she knows it sounds better the way you wanted it. Interesting fact about this particular performance Tara, and an answer as to why she took that "breath" at the end where you wish she wouldn't, I remember an interview with her right after this and she actually got these cotton particles stuck in her throat during the performance, those things flying around for dramatic aesthetic effect, she got them lodged in her throat and actually kind of had to cough violently, but she managed to suppress it somehow (how though?) and still pull through and sing the song masterfully till the end.

If you want to go down a Eurovision route, it makes sense to start with the winners. While I need to give a shout out to every Irish winner (most wins of any country, including a 3 year win streak), I have to suggest my favourite winning performance; Lordi (representing Finland) singing Hard Rock Hallelujah.
My mind was BLOWN. I saw them perform live in a tiny venue (200 people max) a few years ago and it is one of the best shows I have ever been to.
