- When you build a custom ride a lot of the time you can't just bolt on parts. This jeep is no exception. Check out how this custom steering setup goes together and maybe you can get some ideas that can work with your build! All the parts we used we picked up from Speedway Motors store on Ebay.

looks like you turn steering wheel left and the wheels turn right, need pitman arm to go up, or different gear box
That didn't take long for you to find. Yes I'm a Dumbass! I just have to flip the pitmam arm! 🙃😜😝😂
I caught that too. I was puzzled when he acted like it was all normal. I thought maybe it was an optical illusion like the old movies when the stagecoach wheels look like they are turning backwards. LOL

I can only assume you will correct the steering wheel turning left when the wheels turn right.
After seeing you sit in the Jeep, I now know that I am going to stretch my 1946 CJ2A to gain comfort while driving.

jeep's turning out GREAT! I gotta say though, with all of that great looking interior work, it needs a new steering wheel. Nitpicky type stuff at this point, but I think it would make ALL of the difference there.

You might want to consider putting in another universal joint between the box and the steering wheel. More than one person has been seriously injured or killed when their steering wheel was driven into them during a crash.

I'm with you but that kit does not allow the steering to be behind the axle

How did you not know the steering was backwards. Wouldn’t call that a win. A great effort though. Just need to think it out a little better. Can’t wait to see how you fix it. 👍
I want a Jeep rod… especially after watching this series. I know where a Jeep YJ tub is.
That would work other than you have to have seatbelts in a YJ
clock the arm on the steering box to point up to correct the steering
I enjoyed the video, however I notice the backwards steering. I'm interested in how you are going to reverse the steering. I also agree with another comment with possibly a collapsible column. That solid rod could be uncomfortable in an accident. I really like the build. Thanks
No seat belts, no doors, no top, no airbags, it's only one step safer that a motorcycle.

Looks to me it’s right hand down wheels are turning left so you are correct.
I was just gonna say the same thing the person below this said you're stirring left but the tires are going right what's up
Now if you've just set up the transmission to give one forward and four reverse...

@@HardCoreFab You will not be able to change it it with out cutting the shaft apart. The part should last a lifetime but you never know.
No column colapse sleeve in the event of an accident in the front?!?!
