She speaks so eloquently and so “grandly” because if she said what she had to say with her powers, you won’t survive. She is attuned to earth’s weather. She needs to be free, like the air itself. She is literally one with the earth’s weather. She RESPECTS the clay she molds. She would never unleash a fire tornado because it would be such a major disruption to the weather and would endanger more than just what she is fighting. She keeps herself in check consciously, which is why this happened. Her active mind was muted so the only part of her that could still act was her subconscious. She demanded to be free on such a primal level, the weather around her produced an equally primal response. When she was freed, it was too late. On the one hand I wouldn't mind seeing Storm deliberately reach such levels and range of power under the right circumstances (not forced into it as she was here) but that amount of power unleashed would be catastrophic for everyone and everything around her, so... Nor would I want it to be her default power setting. Ewing has really upped the ante in SWORD and XMR and RoM with regards to what Storm is very capable of doing but it was still her mentally reigning herself in and holding back because she knows the consequence of fully giving in to her power.
Yeah I definitely think this shouldn't be her default. If Storm ever had a "final form" that was a "good" or controlled version of this, that's one thing. But it would have to be for some Engame type shit & beyond. I have always said that as powerful as Storm is, her power scale is powerful as well as is her greatest weakness. A little fun fact also about storm is without powers her aim is better than green arrows, she can physically fight better than most of your favorite heroes. What seems stupid to me is that people can actually believe that Storm is not that powerful. It's been established way back in the early days of the New XMen, that Storm's power just doesn't affect one area but areas far away. Some people fail to understand that, in order to bring rain to a drought-plagued area means that you have to manipulate prevailing winds, moisture, barometric pressure, just to bring in Storm clouds. In essence, she is able to manipulate all of that as well as temperature, from arctic winds, gulf streams, continental air flows, all on Her Own! And the more she does it, the easier it gets! Anyone that can do that is, as Xavier used to say, I'd a force to be reckoned with. Even Magneto, a mutant who can manipulate a planet's magnetic field, gives Storm a wide berth. If the powerful Magneto can give this lady her props, everyone Else should. Plot armor indeed. Shows how uneducated some people are.
She should've mastered this state years ago, and been onto transforming her physical body into the various elements themselves by now. And still further beyond that. What the hell are they teaching in that school? Was this girl held back or something?
What pisses me off about this issue is how the writers tried or did recon this to say it was a doom bot. Which is complete bullshit and disrespectful to the character. It’s like they want to try to make it known that doom is stronger than storm. Doesn’t make sense. This issue explains the respect doom has for storm because he knows what she is really capable of. Also something that’s not discussed is the fact that storm at one point was the most powerful mutant on earth. But of course they had to “retcon” a few characters to make them what they perceive as stronger than her or as stronger. When we know exactly what that is about. There is no way in hell most of these characters can withstand the forces of not only nature but the existence of time and space. It only exists because of space weather.

I just finish reading this issue. This was when Storm leading the team as a leader when Cyclops left the team but i just dont like the ending where doom apologised to her and the xmen. It was straight 80s comedy.
I don’t think I’ve read this since this came out in 1981(?) I loved Cockrum’s art, so different but equally as good as Byrne’s. And no, it wasn’t the real Doom, just a bot that was destroyed in the pages of the FF.
I would love for her and Jean to battle as the Dark Goddess and Dark Phoenix and even Scarlet Witch as the Dark Hold Chthon. The battle should take place in a realm void of fragile beings..the white hot room, the waiting room, a sturdy but uninhabited planet or out at the edge of space. I'm pretty sure she could affect volcanoes and create earthquakes but shes to over powered in reality. They limit her to wind, ice and lighting which is a form of fire. In the comics she can sense when trees are dying and takes care of plants to feel calibrated to the earth so maybe geo-kinesis can be a secondary mutation for her as an elemental.
Well, considering that she can effect the pressures of wind to a very high degree. It wouldn’t surprise me if animators drew Storm just airbending (I use that term lightly) lava or some sh*t.

One of Storm's most important storylines in comics that was about her being a boss ass bitch and leading the team for years without her powers, but was turned into her running away from the team for the sole purpose of getting her powers back by this trash sellout ass "black" showrunner, who removed her from the entire season AND from the intro... for what?? Because he wanted to replace her with Jean Grey (guess who is now second in the intro) because we need another white woman headliner, apparently... Storm has always been the X-Men's main female character, and she has been constantly disrespected, time after time, in every form of media outside of comics. He MAD disrespected her story, with this fake-ass Adversary who wasn't even the Adversary, but one of the EyeKillers (and it wasn't even a proper EyeKiller). LifeDeath and the time after it was ALL about Storm being a competent leader and a force to be reckoned with and not needing her powers to do it, but trash ass Demayo got the team disrespecting her in the first few episodes, talking bout "Who will lead the team if Cyclops leaves??!?!" Uhh' possibly the bitch who always leads when he ain't around since episode 4, Captive Hearts? Maybe her?? Disrespectful, sabotage... And yall over here eating this trash up while this fake ass sellout sabotages one of the most important black characters in comics.

A little fun fact also about storm is without powers her aim is better than green arrows, she can physically fight better than most of your favorite heroes. What seems stupid to me is that people can actually believe that Storm is not that powerful.
It's been established way back in the early days of the New XMen, that Storm's power just doesn't affect one area but areas far away.
Some people fail to understand that, in order to bring rain to a drought-plagued area means that you have to manipulate prevailing winds, moisture, barometric pressure, just to bring in Storm clouds. In essence, she is able to manipulate all of that as well as temperature, from arctic winds, gulf streams, continental air flows, all on Her Own! And the more she does it, the easier it gets!
Anyone that can do that is, as Xavier used to say, I'd a force to be reckoned with. Even Magneto, a mutant who can manipulate a planet's magnetic field, gives Storm a wide berth. If the powerful Magneto can give this lady her props, everyone Else should. Plot armor indeed. Shows how uneducated some people are.

What pisses me off about this issue is how the writers tried or did recon this to say it was a doom bot. Which is complete bullshit and disrespectful to the character. It’s like they want to try to make it known that doom is stronger than storm. Doesn’t make sense. This issue explains the respect doom has for storm because he knows what she is really capable of. Also something that’s not discussed is the fact that storm at one point was the most powerful mutant on earth. But of course they had to “retcon” a few characters to make them what they perceive as stronger than her or as stronger. When we know exactly what that is about. There is no way in hell most of these characters can withstand the forces of not only nature but the existence of time and space. It only exists because of space weather.

Demayo has basically kicked her off the show, he took her off the team, he took her off the intro, he made her leave the team when she didn't leave the team in the books. He royally fucked up LifeDeath, her most important storyline ever, which was about her coming into her own and learning to be a boss ass bitch without her powers and still leading the team the whole way thru it... and he made it about her weakly running after her powers. He completely made it up, the cartoon doesn't even resemble the actual story. And did you notice Storm never once kisses Forge? Meanwhile Jean has kissed both Wolverine and Scott multiple times. Jean is all of a sudden at the front of the lineup on the intro. Has a new voice and a whole new glamour makeover. Meanwhile Storm still has this terrible voice acting and is literally always in the wrong costume. Sabotage. We have YET to see Storm like she is in the comics. But yall keep eating up this bullshit that they serve you.

I would love for her and Jean to battle as the Dark Goddess and Dark Phoenix and even Scarlet Witch as the Dark Hold Chthon. The battle should take place in a realm void of fragile beings..the white hot room, the waiting room, a sturdy but uninhabited planet or out at the edge of space. I’m glad you did this vid and had receipts because anti-Storm fans begins to cry when mentioning how powerful she is and the fact that she’s capable of reaching Dark Phoenix power levels. The fact that she don’t need a possessing entity because she is one herself. But I am happy with Omega Level Storm although that Ann writer should’ve dwelled into Storm’s dark side and brought this back but when you have no imagination then….
I'm pretty sure she could affect volcanoes and create earthquakes but shes to over powered in reality. They limit her to wind, ice and lighting which is a form of fire. In the comics she can sense when trees are dying and takes care of plants to feel calibrated to the earth so maybe geo-kinesis can be a secondary mutation for her as an elemental.
Well, considering that she can effect the pressures of wind to a very high degree. It wouldn’t surprise me if animators drew Storm just airbending (I use that term lightly) lava or some sh*t.
She's called the Mistress of the Elements for a reason.
Yeah she can indirectly manipulate and cause earthquakes and lava blasts. She’s mainly responsible for sky manipulation but she’s also a capable earthbender.

I love Storm. She’s my favorite. I’m on board with her being omega. But to say that she’s the same power level as the Phoenix force is a bit…wrong? It cheapens the power scaling. Storm’s powers are weather-which makes sense to classify her as a super powerful omega. But to say powerful weather control is on the same level as the universal cosmic psychic power entity?
