Simon's enthusiasm for all things beer is what makes this series so special. Dude is having a real blast, and it shows. Congratulations on the ongoing success of the series. Stone The Crows!
I watched this video over the course of two days as it was a bit long and conflicted with my work scheduling. I must say it is a most fantastic video flick highlighting Czech beer, its beer history and modern brewing process, as well as the wonderful Czech people. My family is 100% Hungarian although we were all born here in the states. I have an affinity with Czech folks, their society, their cuisine, and of course their beer. With the exception of maybe one or two other beers, I only drink Czech or German beers. Nothing else compares. What a wonderful video flick that makes me yearn for every where I want to be. Mahalo amigo for all you do!
It's beer o'clock in Russia:: There is nothing better than enjoying a beer in a brewery fresh from the tank. We made this a few times in Germany and there is nothing fresher, spicier than beer directly from the tank. This knocks your socks off I tell you. Greets from St. Petersburg, Paul
Simon, I was stuck at home for nine months due to the border being closed and today was my first day back at work. I just wanted to say thank you. Your content truly helped out through tough times and I appreciate all the hard work that you put into these videos. Cheers Mate!
Fantastic video. The training for cleaning the glasses let alone the brewing! Astounding. And the approach to bar work as a career full of pride and training to serve the best possible beer in the best glass. Puts most of our bars to shame. Time to re-emphasise bar work as a well-paid, fully trained pride of this country. Simon, can you be the beer version of Jamie Oliver? Find out who's in charge and shout it loud and proud with the backing of brewers and pubs. Enough is enough. Before it's too late and cans/home drinking is all we have left.
ANO! ANO! Which of course is Czech for YES! I’m not exaggerating when I say that this series is absolutely fantastic, I’ve watched Simon religiously for over 12 years or so and this is the best stuff he has ever done, along of course with the virtual pub! I like to give a bit back to Si for the great entertainment by paying a small fee every month to the channel. Hope you become members of the channel and STONE THE CROWS!
*Just a tip, because this really bugged me. If you are on your phone you may not be able to join the channel as a member. For me, the only way around this was to go onto my computer. Once I did that, I was able to sign up for a membership.
I loved this. (first 40 minute instalment done). I was shocked that the Czech republic is the largest consumer of beer per capita. I knew China was the biggest producer (as they have a squillion billion people there) and UK is in the top 10 producers but ashamed we don't even make it into the top 10 for consumption. I haven't been to the Czech republic but it's now on my list. Thank you Simon
What an enjoyable watch that was. Prague is a great city, was there on a Stag 15 years ago. What brilliant hosts Budweiser Budvar were to you Simon, can see you had a great time there. Our UK pubs need to watch this video, buy all new beer glasses and learn those pouring methods. The beers looked amazing🍺😋
Ah Brilliant, just what we've been waiting for. That's my morning sorted.😁👍 All watched, one of my favourite episodes yet. Seeing that budvar going down the sink made me cry🤣good effort tho
The British pour is not intended for continental pilsners but for cask nitrogen saturated ales. Love my British ales. Great video Simon! Yours truly, Lukasz from Poland.
Absolutely a legendary Series, history, good beers and humor definitely a must watch series. Keep it chugging along Si your doing fantastic with this series. 👌
Sorry to comment only 10:06 in... but that's where I used to sit once a week for my 'turkish' coffee I'd get and just relax and look out the window at the horse and everything. Love it!
Simon, I told you to get to Czech about 8 years ago when we met at the Wroclaw Beer festival, lol. Happy you are there. It is my favorite place in the world because of the beer culture and everything that goes with it.
This seems like a great time to let people know that 568ml pint cans of Budvar are now available in Home Bargains! A 4 pack for just £5.49. Absolute bargain price for 4 pints of a brilliant beer
Visted Prague in June and we stayed at theU MEDVIDKU - HISTORIC BREWERY HOTEL, fantastic beer brewed on the premises, loved Prague and will be going again.
Incredible video! Best series on TH-cam! Just when you think your next video can’t be better than the last! Great work Simon! Keeps these going! Cheers mate 🍻
Awesome video Simon.Last week me and my brother in law followed your steps.Went to Prague , then a day trip to Budejovice, took the Budvar train, toured the town, lunch at Solnice micro brewery and finished with a tour of the Budvar brewery.A brilliant day out .Thanks for the inspiration
Having discovered Budvar dark in the official Budvar bar and then trying a home brewed, very strong dark in a pub in nearby Hluboká, I can say without a doubt, that on my return to London, the Guinness and other stouts I normally enjoy, tasted somewhat bland, almost tasteless. I'm definitely a dark lager fan now. Can't wait to go back to Budějovice in January. Keep up the good work Simon, and have a great Xmas.
I kinda agree with ya (on that Guinness thing). If you get a chance (and go back to Prague) try to get Budvar dark in "U Medvidku" pub. LAst tie I was there tasted gorgeous 💋🍻
A few years back, the nerdy course I booked in Prague was cancelled, so it became a holiday. On my first visit to the bar closest to the out-of-town hotel, the guy heard my Geordie accent and proudly told me this was the home of Prague's Newcastle United fan club! Prague is a great city and you do it proud, with your video.
Loved that you started with the Flecku, my idea of heaven on earth, that goulash&dumplings and the dark beer are to die for, and it still looks the same as I remember it from 1991.
Im upset Si. I'm in the Czech Rep and didn't see you! Hope you had a great time, I could have taken you to some Pivovars -big but out of the way. Great to see you here anyhoo, lovely. It is quite common to see Czech drinking a beer in the morning - no wonder they have the highest beer consumption. Hope you had fun! Cheers.
1:27:48..."that's the face of a disappointed Czech man"...haha! Another great episode. The beer snacks had me drooling at the end, too...(well, maybe not the head meat!)
I've tried a sample of Budva on draught at The National Tap in Aberdare it's a nice beer with a great taste. The bars including the brewery you went to are incredible.
Fantastic episode Si,the beers/food/hospitality in Prague was excellent & all superbly put together by your good self for our entertainment.. Been to Prague twice but next time I’ll be sure to check out some of these fab places u visited.. 🍺👍🏻🍺
Another cracking video. I really hate it that my Prague experience was a young drunken stag. Didn’t make the most of the culture and history. Gotta go back.
Long day at work, then the gym then see to kids... nothing beats kicking my feet up and watching these with a beer after all that dude! Thanks for your content 🍻
Haha loved this. When you saw the Voda and didn't know it, it was like you did..ahh blasphemy😀!!! Voda = water haha. Si the Moravian wine trips are great too.
Simon what a great video and a lovely place to go to loved the brewery tour and the beer testing then there was the beer pouring with the head bar man what a lovely guy and so was radeem hope you didn’t have to pay for all those beers that were poured loved the look of the dark and light beers together you just don’t know what a skill it is to pour a beer i think if that was poured to you in England with the froth they would send it back or want it topped up so it’s flat anyway a really knowledgeable video well done Simon 👍👍
I'm gonna go to Prague next month for the first time in my life. Why? I just wanny be part of the beer culture at least once! I would like to experience the different pouring styles and dive in to these world class beers. Thanks a lot for creating this video! Greetings again as always from the centre of Germany!
What a great great great video. We went to Prague and had IVF and came away with Martha, if you’ve watched my videos she is on the end of everyone and sometime in them. We spent quite a bit of time exploring and found a pub in a backstreet with a HLT a mash-tun and a fermenter just inside the door being used brilliant. Lots of drinking in the caves a beautiful place with some great beer cheers 👍🍻
This was epic my friend When I thought it couldn’t get any better then the copper kettles lager fridges and the bottling line. The last part of different pours blew my mind well done. How did you pull up the next day 🤔
you're lovely man!!! so full of happiness and smiles for beer and all things thoughtful and amazing...real treat being in your company dude, hope you and your close ones are happy!! All the best...I've subbed...not sure if you're still making content!!???
Loved it here but unfortunately I wasn’t into my beers as much to appreciate it! I’ve been a Guinness snob for far too long and have only recently started venturing out
My dad used to take us to the Higsons brewery pub called the tap it was fantastic but everywhere else it was awful. Now it is still there but Cains.have you heard of Higson's from Liverpool?
Simon's enthusiasm for all things beer is what makes this series so special. Dude is having a real blast, and it shows. Congratulations on the ongoing success of the series. Stone The Crows!
How cool was it joe
Mind blowing
Alan Whicker eat your heart out! These beer travelogue's are top drawer
The grin on your face in that Budvar tank room. You are in your beer utopia 😁
I've never seen happiness and pure elation like this, Simon is in heaven!

Radeem seems like a really decent host - great happy energy and proud of his local juice.

Excellent so far,. I'll have to watch in two installments. Great video 👍

There used to be an old style tobacconist in that shopping area. The door handles were pipes. Fascinating place. Thanks
