Nice review, thank you. I picked up a pair of the fisher S112’s just for the reasons that you expressed. I wanted a wider ski for backcountry use in the deep. I am running with the Roto fella locking NNN 10:30 BC bindings And a set of tall Alpina explorer boots. Working OK so far. A learning process for me as I have been mainly a resort skier. I did consider the explorer bindings, but that requires a complete change of boots and skis as well which I cannot afford. So your review helped in saying that it is not a huge difference between the two. Keep up the good work.
Hi Kestrel, i love the Excursion 88. For me, it is the perfect Ski for the german low mountain ranges. But i use the "normal" BC Rottefella Binding with Alpina Alaska Boot. My Telemarkskills looks funny like your´s ;-) Have fun!

I support you my friend
Useful, thanks!
Fun ending😊
Dickie (you know, Dickie Hall from the late NATO) would say that falling is part of the fun... Thanks for the in depth review.
