- Playing EXTREME Hide and Seek with My Dogs
Today I challenge my dogs to play EXTREME Hide and Seek. What they don’t know, is that I have an ace up my sleeve. I’ve camouflaged and become one with nature to stand a chance against their powerful snooters. Will this ghillie suit help me stay undercover, or will it be an epic fail? Youp, it was easy, different shade of green ;)
the suit was green, 2 strings of green in the image, there's not many places you need to look at... took me 2 seconds to figure out you counted down the actual 3 seconds, not the time until we start searching, and i still found you within the 1 remaining second
Yeah, the costume is off-green relative to the rest, so it stands out if you're looking for it.

Leo's been with you longer, so he's more used to your smell. Finds you straight away. Love how he wags his tail as soon as he spots you🧡

More likely it's simply because he's a Golden Retriever.
Different breeds have varying sense of smell potency. The magnitude of difference between them can be drastic, in fact. Obviously, all dogs have incredible sense of smell relative to ourselves, but breeds which were bred specifically to enhance the ability are especially capable. Golden Retrievers are one such.

They find you with their nose. A dog can smell more then 100 x better then a human and Leo is a retriever of the finest kind
They played this game with the wrong breeds. Retrievers have a great sense of smell, and shepherds aren't too bad. I had a beagle and a lab growing up. They could sniff me half a mile away, literally (depending on the wind). I also had a Chow, and he couldn't smell me if I was standing 10 feet away with a greasy cheeseburger in my hands.

@@philipmeisterl I'm no expert, but I've had those dogs and I would put my money on my lab over the sheperd. I'm sure it varies by dog.
@@nottelling4828 Our neighbor had a retriever named Bailey. Our neighborhood was all woods. Bailey was ball crazy. I'd be working on my car and he would come over and drop the ball wherever I was. if I was on my back it would be right in my face so I wasn't going to miss it. I would throw that ball with all my might over the house into the thick woods . I was young and had a hell of an arm back then. somewhere between 15 and 30 minutes he would be back with the ball. we could do it all day as far as he was concerned. He was a good boy 🤗
I read that often but then there are this clips where the owner hides behind the open door and the dog is looking for her/him for several minutes. Or is it different in the house as basically the whole house smells like the owner?
Really interesting to see how much more your Golden uses his nose first, whereas your German Shepherd seems to go for visual cues first, before using his nose to pinpoint your position. I guess the nose focus is part of the reason that Goldens are often used for bomb/drug sniffing, and search&rescue :)
German shepherd also used for finding drugs and culprits. But i think both golden retriever and german shepherd here isnt that trained that lv. They are usuing their natural talent without any training for this. Otherwise these dogs would be solve these kind of trick in an instant.

I absolutely love your channel. My german shepherd was never found after I let him out on the evening of July 4th, 1982. I still think of him after all of these years and hope he had a good life after me. I'm going to be 60 later this year and your channel reminds me of playing hide and seek with him in the 70's and early 80's... Isn't it the best feeling to see them wagging their tails when they find you?

Love this! I do this with my German Shepherds Ebony and Galahad. Sometimes I can pull one over on Ebony, but never Galahad. He always just walks right up and shows his mother right where I am. He's such a cheater LMAO

those noses are hard to hide from.. their instincts are spot on. try a blood hound he or she can follow a 4 day trail.. with very little issue.. the young pups are in their learning phases.. love the video thanks..

Yeah, this was no surprise. It is something you learn right away when you study to become a hunter. It is also the reason dogs are requirements to have with you when you hunt.
For a dog to detect something hidden in thick vegetation is about as hard it is for you to balance on a empty freeway. Meaning it is no issues at all. You can not visually hide from a dog. They do not use their eye that much, they use their sense of smell. Humans see much better than dogs do.
This episode of Finding Bigfoot is way more exciting (and successful) than usual.

Very fun. Reminds me when I was a kid I would play hide'n seek with my border collie. I would make him stay in the front yard while I hid in the back yard. He would always sniff me out. The funny thing is that if i made a large circle in the grass first you could actually see me following the circle scent before he found me.

Dogs have a deep sense of smell. The reason if in whatever form his/her master disguises, they could always find them based on the human smell.
The only way I've found to hide from a dog is to hide behind the laundry.
These friends in need are friends indeed. That's why pets become greater than men.

I have so much fun watching your videos, these two amazing dogs are adorable. I love how they deal with their two dogs, you can see the ♥love they have for them both. It is not said for nothing that the dog is man's best friend.
