- After a screening of the beautiful documentary "Amala - The Life and Struggle of the Dalai Lama's Sister," Jetsun Pema, the subject of the film, took part in a live Q&A in the theater with International Campaign for Tibet President Tencho Gyatso

I grew up in Upper TCV 80’ and 90’. My parents were in Bylakuppee Shichak.. Now I am Canada educated and living well…relatively speaking.
Going back many years: I was not one of those popular/favourite child. Could easily be one of those getting beat up by foster parents. But nothing too serious…I must say that.. When I saw my real parents in Shichag during 2 months winter vocation.. I often yearn to go back to TCV…I can’t go back since Mysore Shichag is too far from TCV Dharmsala.. so this is one of my most vivid memory..

I was a college kid (still am, lol) around 5 or 6 years ago when Amala visited the TCV youth hostel, Bangalore. I had the privilege of asking Amala about the most challenging experience she had encountered. She asked me how old I was. I fumbled a little and answered, '22.'
She said, 'I have been through many challenges. In my early 20s, I was head of the sponsor desk. I had to write numerous applications and develop stories for each newcomer from Tibet. At that time, although we were receiving a huge number of newcomers from Tibet, many young children and babies were passing away due to heat and various diseases. So, in one way, I had to search for sponsors, and in another, I had to look after the kids while witnessing those beautiful lives passing away. That was a very difficult challenge I had to endure when I was around your age.' I couldn’t voice out and say thank you, because I was emotionally choked up by how useless I felt and how trivial my problems seemed in comparison.

She became Amala in relation to HH the Dalai Lama. These groups including the Samdong Lama want to control all the institutions. Karmapa had to leave India because of them. They even called Indian Police upon Karmapa. The Dalai Lama wanted to give the responsibility of the new Nalanda University to Dr. Lobsang Sangey but this group of people downplayed Dalai Lamas wishes.

I think Pandora letter should investigate the corruption that’s going on in tcv, and its reason for not going under sherig, I have been hearing lot of stuff recently, about the new nalanda university corruption, D.L institute corruption and lot of stuff, I do have respect for her but some of the rumours make lil bit of sense to me
