for those wondering, "baked" basically means that all the changes, textures, transforms, and other elements that go into making something 3D, are "applied" to the final object. After being baked, they cannot be changed, but the file size is far smaller and easier to use in the game. Usually, you'll "bake" something to a brand new file so if something must be changed, you can just go to the original, change it, and bake it again. Its essential in game development. It's essentially flattening all your photoshop layers, so to speak.

It kind of reminded me of a cartoon frenchie or pug wearing a lion mane costume. If it didn't split it's skull like that I would definitely be snuggling one rn. And that's honestly my favorite part of the character designs. Take away the "horror" aspects of the designs and most of them look like stuff that I would've wanted as a kid. Heck, pianosaurus looks exactly like a green, piano version of a remote control dinosaur toy I got for Christmas one year. and Yarnaby absolutely looks like some of the stuff i saw in sewing or crochet kits from when i was a kid. this game has the "I owned this as a kid" charm that a lot of these mascot games don't have. you can recognize a lot of the toys that inspired these designs. in the lead up to chapter 3 I almost believed there was a real episode that the "smiling critters" cartoon trailer would've been edited from. I wonder if we'll get a "Polly Pocket" toy in the next game.
One of my personal biggest complaints for chapter 4 was lack of Toy Diversity, mostly in Safe Haven itself, but also just in general, so finding out the original subjects in the gas puzzle were all toys we haven't seen sense chapter 1 and Daddy Long Legs, who we haven't even had a model for yet, was a HUGE bummer. What could have been...
It was such an involved chapter compared to the older ones; hard to believe the volume of content that didn't make it into the final game. I'd love to know why they cut certain things!

I really think they should have switched out the Doctors maze section with the Safe Haven quests. If they were worried about time or fetch quests getting in the way of the gameplay, I think they should have taken a gamble and kept it in. *SPOILERS* !!! Unless they felt it would have been too morbid to get close to them only to blow them up anyways and were worried about upsetting the players. Though they kind of already did that for Pianosaurus.
On the contrary, if you want to get into the nitty and gritty of the fact children are suffering and dying down in the lower levels and make it truly dark and horrifying, the BEST way to drive that home is an emotional gut punch like that. Yeah it would be morbid and heartwrenching, but that would also be the point.
