You can use coloured ink that you use for an Inkjet printer (to fill the reservoirs) just 4 colours available Magenta, Cyan, Yellow and Black... but you can mix them to obtain the colour you like. Just spread evenly onto bare wood and after it has dried coat with a good quality clear varnish the wood grain can be seen. These inks have long lasting colours.

First of all I want to say congratulations. I just discovered your channel and I've been watching a lot of your different segments and I really thoroughly enjoy it. II would like to give you some instruction on a technique that I've been using I've been making my own stain now for over 8 years. I buy boiled linseed oil and turpentine note those items together cause spontaneous combustion so you don't want to use a rag and then throw it in the trash can because your trash can could catch on fire but I use 50-50 turpentine and boiled linseed oil after I get that mixture the boiled linseed oil actually penetrates the grain with the help of the turpentine and it really makes the grain pop out and be pronounced really stands out with a boiled linseed oil I buy artist grade oil paint and just a little bit of paint whatever color I desire goes into my 50/50 boiled linseed oil turpentine mixture and that's how I make my own stain. I use burnt umber quite often burnt umber is the artist translation of dark brown the more burnt umber I use I can actually make a walnut stain I can vary my stains make natural wood coloring stains by using artist grade paint... Or i can be creative and use actual colors.

Good idea. I was at a close out store and found natural color wood stain for $.25 a quart can. I bought the shelf out and have given several boxes of it away. From Sherwin Williams store I begged for a tiny bit of black tint to make a grey out of a gallon of white paint , but used the same tint in the cheap natural stain to stain a dog casket black. I haven't tried simply using paint to tint it but now glad to know it works well.

Since the video maker doesn't seem to answer questions here:
I can't find oil-based craft paints that don't come in tubes but I see a bunch of liquid acrylic paints.
The paint used in this video looks like Testors (for example) model car paint based on the bottle. But I don't remember that those were oil based. Do any other viewers have any experience with this technique? Can the oil-based paint in tubes be used? Can liquid acrylic or model car paint be used?
    Thanks in advance!

Holy Smokes how much does it cost to buy the stain and color paints? I mean it is clever, but wouldn't it just be cheaper, cleaner and easier getting the 5 color wood stain kit from Amazon? I have to say you are very clever though and will definitely check out your other videos, because I am sure you have Super brilliant ideas!

The music in background is monumentally irritating. Please no music in any DIY videos. Golden rule. The brain can only process one sound channel at a time. Also, your music is highly subjective. Most will not like your choices, so you alienate many viewers. Ditto for the distracting black and white transitions of image. Keep it simple without gimmicks.
Video was very useful as I cannot find a green stain in any box stores or even online. Thanks for a great demo!!
