I heard people say that about maxamet...that if you apply to much pressure you can fracture the edge. So i tried it. No issues! Good commentary on deburring. I tried it and noticed the front end sharpness to be significantly worse if the burr is not properly removed. I never watched this under a microscope but I imagine that the burr will be mashed into the apex and flatten it. How's the 1000 grit edge working out for you?
Thanks for the video! I just got a WE60. I really like it so far. Just out of curiosity what do you do for work? It’s cool if you don’t what to share that as well. Thanks again
@@big_hands I’ve already spent way more than I thought I would on stones and 3 micron films. I am impressed with the high polished edges. I did one on my Benchmade with M390 and I do not like how it cuts. You can shave with it but is sucks in cardboard. I did a 1500 micro bevel on it and it’s a lot better. I am in Nebraska.
@@tctz28 I like the looks of a nice polished edge as much as anybody, but literally every modern super steel performs best with a 400-1000 grit edge. Polished edges are better on simple carbon steels, like 52100, O1, W2... but even then, geometry and what you're actually cutting makes a huge difference.
@@CNYKnifeNerd ^ This. I’ve stopped taking my edges beyond 1000grit. 1000 + a few passes on diamond infused strops have given me the best “useful” edges, hands down.
Great work on this PM2, the edge looks fantastic!
Thanks for sharing and greetings from Germany!
danke fürs zuschauen

Would love to see a video on mounting this up/finding its sweet spot in terms of forward vs. back. 👌

I like the black hardware on the grey scales have you thought about etching your blade?
I've the Para3 in maxamet ^^

That’s sweet that you picked up a WE, welcome to the rabbit hole lol. But I’m a technician at a chemical plant in Iowa

I’ve searched all Your videos, which wicked edge do you have? What stones etc.
I’ve got the WE 120. I started with the Pro Pack 2 then added on. Here’s a video about my stones: th-cam.com/video/-bjXhLNUS1w/w-d-xo.html
A shammy eh? I have to try that. Flat grinds always seem to want to move in my we130.
Yep they do the trick for me. It was a bit squishy for the first couple knives but they work great.
Would you sharpen a para3 maxamet? How much if so
I got out of doing knives for cash. It turned my hobby into a job which took the joy out of it for me.
